Yep! A bunch of us waited for what seemed like forever until order banks opened. Now, I and lots of others are going mad with anticipation for July 18th and the building to start. Maybe we will see some orders go to E status two weeks from today! Then waiting for delivery.... It's been suggested by those in the know that we are going to see our 'estimated' delivery dates come and go... and wait some more...

Double amen Bill!! Keep in mind that some cities charge a higher tax rate. In San Diego County there are a few cities that charge 1/2 to 1% more. To save money you should check your local taxing authority, to determine if the city you are making a purchase in charges a higher rate. Secondly, for those in CA..check your receipts as many businesses are not aware and many be charging you the older 8.75% rate ( yes, my city rate is higher than Bills).

Source data (Richard Rider-anti taxation advocate): Too many CA retailers still charging expired sales tax - Richard Rider - Open Salon

Planning to swing by to place my order tomorrow...

JKU Rubicon, Black
Auto
Remote Start
A/C with auto
Connectivity
Dual Top
Supplemental Front AB

My math says $35,179.06 with 2% under invoice.

Only on the fence about tow, will probably just go aftermarket or use an LoD bumper to carry the bike rack.

In California, the sales tax rate is determined by the address at which you register the vehicle, NOT the location of the dealer. I am WAY out of any incorporated area so just pay the state rate, even though the dealer is in a city with a higher rate. I've heard of dealers padding their profit by charging the higher rate and pocketing the difference.. often as much as 1%! Be careful!

Californians can go here to calculate sales tax and registration fees:

That is a very good idea! Nobody knows what we are getting with the tow package for the JKU Rubicon! If it includes only what is currently listed for the AHQ package, you'll be hundreds of dollars ahead going aftermarket!

Nice choice in color. We are in the minority with it but I love it.

Thanks. I'll look into making the change today. If they will not make the change (for whatever reason) I'll bite the bullett and cancel the order and then reorder when Black Forest Green becomes available. I would really hate to wait that long as I won't have it for any warm weather driving! But as you say, I expect have this for a long time- it's worth getting it right.

I was unable to get the link to work. I'll have to try on another 'outer.

My 2 year old wouldn't leave the Jeep in the showroom in Cosmic Blue, so between that the lack of an Orange color. We decided on the blue, it's going to be awesome.

So if I'm clear on this , it looks like for 2012 you can order AJP power convenience group with the standard Sport package ? ( not the S package ) I don't believe you could order this with the 2011 standard sport trim ?

Thanks as this is some great info !

We are lucky in SC. Max is $300 regardless of vehicle cost.

I am so living in the wrong state. How many here live in a conceal carry state? What's the point of having a Jeep if you can't pack heat? All we get in NY is a premise permit (good for home, not for carry). I'm looking to adopt and possibly move so that I can exercise my 2nd Amendment Right.

I live in SC. When tax is capped like that we pay taxes every year as long as you own. From my understanding states with no cap the taxes you pay at purchase is it. So if you get new vehicle every 3-5 years cap is way to go. If you keep them for long time the one time is way to go.

And I have conceal weapons permit. I can carry in my jeep.

So has anyone heard of when we will start to see pictures of the new front end, or more of the new colors other than chips? With delivery expected in weeks, I would think there would be some pictures floating around.

There is no new front end.

One way or the other our favorite uncle will get you. You can't win.

I envy you. All I have is a premise permit. Get caught outside my house with it and I'm done. Oh well

And I thought California was tough on gun owners. Heck, I have a 100 yd. range set up in my back yard. We are pretty free with guns on private property, but concealed carry permits can be tough, and expensive!

I think it is still legal in California to open carry in a vehicle. As long as the firearm is not concealed, you can have one in your jeep. Anybody know more about this?

Well that makes things easier. When I first started reading about the 2012 I thought there was mention of a new front end, with the new pentastar engine. Now it would just be nice to start seeing how the new colors look. Would really like to see crush.

NY's anti-gun billionaire mayor Bloomberg or as I affectionately call him Bloomturd wouldn't entertain the thought of concealed carry. I thought a cops best friend is a law abiding citizen with a gun? So since I can't beat them and I refuse to join them, I might as well move.

This is one big ol' can of worms...there are so many caveats you need a lawyer to ride along with you. I have been retired for 22 years from L.E. and can't keep up with current law. Try the link below to decide...

http://opencarry.mywowbb.com/forum12/8457.html

Well, the link is not working. I am sorry for that. Just Google "Open carry in CA"

Yep! That's a big part of the problem. Between state, local, fish and game, feds, etc. If you own a firearm, you're probably breaking some law or regulation, or some LEO l will think you are. That's why, when law enforcement asks to look in your vehicle, house, backpack, etc., the answer is "Got a warrant, officer?"

A coworker of mine is a retired NYPD cop. Did 20 and a day as he always jokes. Has a full carry in NYS and the problem area....the 5 borough (Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and the all famous Manhattan) Look at how screwed up the laws are here. He has some property in upstate NY outside the 5 boroughs. If he changes his address from Staten Island where he lives now to upstate, he loses the carry in the 5 boroughs after serving 20years at NYPD. That is just wrong if you ask me.

Oh he carries anywhere he wants to now but if he changes his address from Staten Island to upstate, he loses the carry in the 5 boroughs. I find it hard to believe myself but that's what he said. He'll still be able to carry outside the boroughs though.

Where is the 18th already? This is going to be the longest 2 months ever. I mean we were just yesterday cutting turkeys and looking at reindeer. Today is the 5th and the 18th will take a decade to arrive.
