Sales tax for me is 8.8% then my county adds another Surcharge for New Vehicles, that Brings the effective rate up to 9.9% tax on new Vehicles. Its freakin insane!

Dont even get me started on Property tax's...I have to pay the state over $5000 yr/ to live in my modest home thats paid for...

But for $80 every 5 years I can conceal carry.... what a bargain

Think about the fact that we've been told the 18th of august is closer to delivery than the end of July. I still expect Delivery to be mid/late August. Anything sooner is icing on the cake. But the waiting sucks...

I guess I am used to waiting on Chrysler products. In 2000 I ordered a PT Cruiser. After waiting 18 months and not even seeing D-1 ! I sold my spot in line for $500.

When the Dodge Nitro came out I ordered one. And after 6 months without seeing D-1 I cancelled again.

This time, since I also am in D-1 I believe it may work out. Soon, in view of my past experiences!

Yes it does suck. We have to try and have fun in the mean time. You know what they say, time flies when you're having fun.

I'd go postal waiting that long. That's nuts.

Doesn't get much worse than NJ. Terrible overall tax burden. Property taxes through the roof and almost no deductions on income.

Back to Jeep talk. What mopar accessories should I consider? I've got a really good one time discount. Thoughts?

Slush mats
Grab handles
Door sills
Mirror relocation brackets

What else?

Great info all over this thread. Thanks to all of you guys for the efforts taken to keep us all well-informed Jeep buyers. Fine example of the uniquely Jeep camaraderie.

According to Chrysler, both trailer tow and max tow group have the trailer sway, here's what they sent me.

This Trailer Sway Damping has been in place on Wrangler ever sense the Electronic Stability System was put on ! Whether the Sales Group adds a Sales Code for it I canít say. The Trailer Sway Damping has no extra parts and uses all the sensors that the Electronic Stability System does.

Yeh. But, WA ahs no state income tax, right. I'm paying for my Jeep with after fed and state tax money, and you're paying with after fed tax money, so, your 9.9% sales tax is much lower than my 10% state income tax rate I had to pay when I earned the money to buy my Jeep, and a 7.25% sales tax.

Question: how long does it take to actually build a jeep from start to finish? Is it a week? Maybe i should look at the Insight website to find out :/

Rubi comes with "rear passenger assist handles kit."

I already ordered: Mopar door sills, Mopar fuel door (seem necessary in snow country,) locking lug nuts (spare too easy to steal,) Bestop locking storage box.

Also looking at slush mats and cargo mat, but want to see what's stock first.

Most opinions on the forums on mirror relocation brackets are not good. I'm looking at the various mirrors that mount in the door hinges.

At least we can buy goodies for the Jeeps and get some immediate satisfaction... and the research helps pass the time... 13 days to the first build...

Ok so according to Insight, if the building starts on 7/18, they are saying my Jeep will be on the rail car on 7/22. Roughly a 3 day process. I assume it gets inspected before getting loaded onto the rail car (QA) so I'm still lost. How long does it take to actually build a jeep?

For the soft top guys have you seen the convertible top from Rugged Ridge? Here's a short video. This will save a lot of headaches. Hopefully the dimensions don't change from the 2011 and the 2012 so this can work.

Thanks again, Pat!

That makes sense, and explains a lot, but not all, of the extra cost of the Max Tow pkg.

Any correction yet to AHT pkg. listing a Class V hitch for JK's? That is NEVER going to happen, must be Class I?

I think the relocation issue is with full doors, but I don't know. I'm getting half. I think they'll be fine. I had ones that look just like those on my TJ with half doors and thought they were great. They look just like the rugged ridge ones but cheaper after a discount. I'll keep my mirrors in there year round and have some one fill the mirror spot flush with the door and paint it to match.

On grab handles was that on JK Rubi or JKU or both? I guess I could get An extra pair for front?

Black Fuel Door and Locking lug nuts are both good ideas. Is the lockbox from bestop sold through mopar. Might have to check it out.

Thanks.

Sorry, standard on JKU Rubi. Don't know about 2-door.

Checked the Milous spreadsheet (which I downloaded to my phone for quick access). Standard on JKU Rubi and Sahara.

thanks I'll check it out

I've got some other non mopar stuff on the list:

Spiderweb Shade.
Visor sticker for over those ugly warning stickers.
Best top trail cover
Soft top boot
Window bag
Full door bag - to store my halts and tops when off.

I've already started to line up my big mods. Just a matter of when.

35" Duratracs
2.5" lift, probably teraflex
Bumpers undecided
Maybe AEV hood

I'm having a ton of fun planning. Now I need a Jeep.

I found this thread to be one of the most informative threads I've ever participated in! As I mentioned I'm new to Wranglers so as questions come up I look for answers. Up until yesterday I was pretty much set on a well equipt Rubi with an AT, and 4.10 gearing. Then thinking about my needs I toss myself into another state of confusion. Mine will probably be used in snow more than anything else. It will also be used as a business vehicle that must be able to get out no matter what.

Since the Rubi is only available with locking differential, and a LSD is not available would I be better suited with a well equipt Sahara, with an LSD differential? What I like about the Rubi is it is more beefy, stock that is, has a higher resale value, and a stronger transfer case. I need some hard core Jeepers to set me straight. I don't think I'll be doing any hard core Rock Crawling. I don't want to be kicking myself in the ass for making a bad choice since I tend to keep vehicles a very long time, and try to buy the best and not look back. I've read a lot of the pro's and con's threads and become more confused. Thought I'd try here! As always thanks!

Looks like the majority of people are ordering Rubicons. Am I nuts for not looking more closely at them? Is the suspension really that much better?

Rubi gives you all the creature comfort options of the Sahara like the power inverter but also gives you beefier axles, transfer case, tires, and a pair of super freakin' awesome hood decals

I'm hung up on not being able to get LSD with the Rubi, I really don't think the braking system can duplicate LSD. Guess I might be overthinking it!

I've been trying to punch my vin into the insight thing for an hour now. I either get "we cannot find the vehicle you requested" or "the number is not 8 or 17 letters long". what am I doing wrong? Can someone post a NEW link to where you punch in your vin?
