Thats the same reason I ordered a sahara back on the last day of 2010. I wanted limited slip or trac loc as mopar calls it. I like it at higher speeds and the rubi lockers only work in low range. the only thing I would take off the rubi is the 410 ratio as it would be a little better on the gutless wonder wrangler.

Almost daily congratulations..

It seems like each day there are more that order a 2012 so daily congratulations are in order! For those that headed down to home depot for the steel wheel barrow please use extreme caution. With the high temperatures you could get 3rd degree burns.

If I ever need 4 wheel drive is it true the cheap mopar junk linkage will fall off the transfer case. How rude. And people on here have been talking about this for years. And jeep does nothing to fix the problem! Guess I will just go buy a gross or two of these Plastic pieces of junk. buy my a$$, I will just demand them at the parts counter as my jeep is under warranty and I don't owe them guys a dime. So far I only have put it in 4 high one time and that was in the drive way, just to see if it would really shift. And I was scared to death as it doesn't shift overly smooth. If the junk jeep trail rated shifter is no better then this why don't they just put a switch on the dash like ford offers as a option. I have never had one of these fail me. Or the ford shifter on the floors seem to be indestruable, and they or very similar to the jeep shifter. Only the linkage don't break off and leave u stranded. My jeep has only had one four wheel drive shift so mabe I will be alright for another shift or two has long as I shift like a hite man.

Is this still the case when Chrysler loses an option that was selected on the original order? Found out today that Chrysler dropped 730N Nav Radio from the order even though I ordered the Wrangler with it on June 6. Dealer called factory rep and he said it should be possible to get it added back in but we will have to wait and see. If the only option ends up being cancellation of the order and placement of a new order, how far back will that set push my build date.

Ahh yes, new folks who've only recently joined to partake in this thread: Allow me to introduce you to KSCrude.

He is, indeed, crude. And from Kansas. He's odd in a head injury sort of way, and is combative as hell. But, he does actually own a 2011 Wrangler--which is bizarrely covered in chrome--that he is actually quite fond of.

Also, he's into fat chicks.

I am so glad that California is the home of the fruits and nuts. We don't really need them out here in the real world. I don't really care for fruits or nuts.

Everybody stepaway from your computers and take a deep breath, feel better now? Any more of this BS and I will do what I have to do. By the way I haven't banned anybody in a couple weeks and my ban button is looking inviting right about now. So if anybody is feeling lucky, keep it up.

I think it's unknown. Mine took 18 days, but my order also had an error. Others saw it much faster. There are a lot of factors that go into D1. D1 means you've been scheduled to be built. I'm sure they try to schedule things to be done efficiently, so figuring out when your specific ride will get built could take a little or a lot of time depending on how things are scheduled so far.

Once you hit D though, I think you should hit D1 by the next Friday after that. Has anyone gone D1 on a day other than Friday yet? Last time I asked, everyone went D1 on 6/17 or 6/24. So did folks have D1 dates of 7/1? Just curious.

Last week on Monday I ordered, and Wednesday last week I had D1.

Okie doke, first time poster...I had a question! Probly been asked but my eyes are crossed as I've read most of this whole thread throughout today & may have missed it. I'm headed to the dealer tomorrow, spec list in hand, to *maybe* order the 2 dr Rubicon I've always wanted. I have a feeling after reading this that I may know more than the salesman when I get there already! Sooo, can I get the 4.1 in the 2 dr 5 speed auto Rubicon still or no? I'm confuzzled. Even with the specs! Helppp!!

It looks like on the Auto, 4.1 is meant to be an option, BUT the system is not allowing it to be selected. So if you go tomorrow and the dealer can't select 4.1 (he'll get a pop up right after selecting the automatic package), then you won't be able to get 4.1.

I post on about forums, this the only automotive one, but this is by far the most sensitive. I know it's private but it's man surprising how tender people on here are. I got warned once bc I said I don't like fat people who are 600lbs using my stuff.
End rant.

Question: I have not seem anyone mention ordering dual top option. Is that not popular? Bc my wife wants the soft top in summer and hard top in winter. Any opinions on dual top set up?

I think a lot of people have ordered dual top. I actually ordered it and then deleted it in favor of the soft top only and half doors, which was my initial intent, but I somehow allowed myself to order two tops and two sets of doors . I just know I won't want to deal with switching them, even though it's only twice a year. Also, I think the soft top works really well and the heater is damn good. I rocked a soft top and half door TJ in Chicago for years with no issues.

If you get both, you should consider a way to remove and store the hardtop. There are aftermarket lift products, but you can also find good specs online for building one yourself.

I have soft top tj and agree that it is def adequate. But my wife wants hard bc it will be primary family car and we will prolly own 10-12 years. Those kind of people.

Never dealt with hard top. Is that something I can remove myself? Or the two of us? Are you saying I need a lift to take off?

I have garage to store in. We don't park there and I keep my boat somewhere else. With the new 3 piece hard top don't I just remove panels? I have no experience at all with them so appreciate patience answering my questions.

Are you sure you want that low gearing? The new, 5-speed tranny has much lower gears than the old, 4-speed.

If my calculations are correct, (please, correct me if I'm wrong... there's a good chance I am) the 3.73 axle will give 1st through 4th gear ratios nearly equivalent to 5.13's with the old tranny!
