Based on Truecar, I was way below dealer cost. But I knew when I purchased my Jeep that I had a great deal. I used the USAA car buying service to get offers and my dealer killed them all. So this old soldier got very excited! Chased my wife for 2 days!

Agree with ndrugby about the quiet ride with the soft top. No problems at all. And I also, like ndrugby, felt the hard would wind up being a hassle and just sit in the garage. Saved the money and got several more options.

Ordered my 2012 Sahara on 11/28/11 and took delivery on 1/6/12, so about 5.5 weeks for me.

Hope that helps - and enjoy your new Wrangler!

Shipping is up to $900 now. Make sure you request a price adjustment or sold order protection if you got your order in before the increase.

They show it because it WAS available, early in 2012MY. Likewise they showed Gecko early and it wasn't available yet. But will be shortly.
I agree advertising should follow paint. They could have done a better job. I'm just saying it's not like it's wrong. Color is high on the purchase reasons for Wrangler so I'm sure it's important to keep it fresh.

The way it was explained to me was that the colors remain on the website so that you can build your Jeep the way you want it, then use that build to search already built inventory sitting at Jeep dealers in your area, even though the color is no longer being manufactured.

That's correct, most manufacturers follow that format. Makes sense in my mind. Some take it literally if they can choose it, they must be able to order it.

I heard a rumor from a dealership in AZ that Arctic Blue may become available on all JK models. Can anyone confirm this? Ready to buy, but need fresh color choice(s)!

According to a Chrysler Production web site:

Initial Production is scheduled to begin for:
Winter Chill Pearl Coat (PBA) without Arctic Package (AAH) - 02/16/12

Chrysler Trucks (Production Updates)

I wonder what this is? Volcano Edition (AA2) - 05/01/12

This is incorrect. It is currently $20695 ($?) + $1500 Dest. Not sure about the other models but dest. would be the same.

Looking to pick up a Orange Crush 2-Dr Sport tomorrow. Was trying to figure out invoice, but it looks like I will be below invoice.

Dealership in Tucson, AZ took my order yesterday for a unlimited sport, half doors, in gecko. Pretty stoked, but waiting for the confirmation email to make sure it was submitted.

Dealership should have given you a VON on submission. VOTS handles sending the emails, but people have reporting getting their confirmation emails after they picked their Jeep up at the dealership. Good luck!

Wow - according to Truecar.com, my Treadlightly discount enabled me to get my lovely Yeti Princess at "Below Cost". I feel good about this!

1% below plus a $75 adminstration fee equals the Friends/Family on the invoice or Treadlightly. It's a great bargain. You get rebates off that price too, or 0% financing if either are available.

Your unique vehicle tracking number is the last 8 digits of the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) or VON (Vehicle Order Number). Your VIN is provided in your second email update entitled, Your new vehicle is scheduled for production. Questions? Please contact your dealer.

Copy that. Thanks for the info.
Looks like it's time to call the dealer and find out what the deal-e-o is.

Can you get the 4:10 rear gear ratio with the 5speed automatic trans? My dealer said no. At the beginning of this thread it list the 4:10 as a "no charge option to the auto trans." I am hoping that is correct and I can get the 4:10 instead of the 3:73
If it is available, how do I tell the guy I ordered it from that it is in fact available, meaning, what step is he missing?

Only on Rubicon models.

So I called the dealer rep. I told him what I read on page one of this thread. Plus I discussed the chart with the tranny/ratio options. He said that when he entered it this morning that the 4:10 was not available. So he went back on the ordering computer, (for a lack of a better term), and while he was on the phone with me he logged in. He then said, "Look, it is available." He canceled my first order and re-ordered my Jeep with a 4:10.

Thanks to this forum.

So I was poking around the forum a little, wondering about tracking my order, and the vehicle order number, and happened to look at the Priced Order Confirmation that I had my salesman forward to me ...

Sure enough, VON was at the top of the sheet, put it into the tracking site and apparently I'm scheduled for production. Any rate, I though I might mention that bit for others to look at.

Hope nobody gets into an accident with their 2012 Wrangler like me. Currently Jeep cares more about pumping out new wranglers than taking care of customers. I've been waiting 48 days for a part. Enjoy!!

So, I'm being told by a dealer that the 7 spoke polished wheels are back ordered and can't be put on any orders now.( This is an Unlimited Sahara) Can anyone confirm that? I'm just a little skeptical as the guy seems he would rather me buy a Jeep on his lot without them and a couple of other minor things and his story has changed a few times before settling on the back ordered line. It's also possible that the wording was confusing in the ordering system so I would like to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I'm in PAINT!

VOTS says that my Rubi is in PAINT. That's the first status change I have had since following. (I hope they made the freame, LOL)

Hopefully, it won't be long now.

Well, I sort of confirmed with another dealer that there is something weird going on with the polished 7spokes. They show up in the order form, but the box is greyed out and he can't select them for an order.

So, we went with the in stock jeep instead as if we couldn't order what we wanted the other one was pretty much everything else we wanted. Crush Unlimited Sahara with body color hard top and dual top. Turns out that in a few hundred miles, this was pretty much the closest to our ideal spec and there were only a couple even close.

Quick pic with the Impact Orange 2005 it is replacing behind it.

Help with getting Jeep info (I'm new to this)

Hi, I was hoping for some help. I ordered a Jeep Wrangler a month ago and the dealer says it is in build status but no VIN number yet. Has a hold on it and the dealer sai he is not sure why. I was hoping to find a way to get more info on it. Thank you!

My understanding is that if you have no VIN (or VON) then your vehicle may be ordered, but is not yet scheduled to be built. When it is, and you are in the "que" so to speack, you will have been assigned those numbers, the dealer will have access to them, and you can plug them in to the VOTS page to track your progress. The VOTS page is a nice idea, but they don't update it well. I was in Production Scheduled for 6 wks, and went from "paint" to "shipped" in 2 days.
