hi, no lemon here 0 problems and a happy owner, oh, its a cherry red,
the only problem is the jeeps cost a fair penny, but this is not a dress
rehersel this is the show...life is good.. this is jeep 5 or 6 for me..
Only problem I've had with mine so far is it seems to drink gas significantly quicker than the subcompact car I replaced with it. Of course going from a 1.6 liter engine to a 3.6 liter and 120hp to 285hp might have something to do with that.
Well there is just one other thing that seems to happen every time I get in it...I smile like I've swallowed a banana sideways...
Not really sure why I waited so long to buy a Jeep. Wanted one for 15 years. Glad I waited.
There will always be random, unlucky issues with every make and model. Example, I had a new tranny put in my Infiniti at 15k miles. Has almost 80k now with no further issues.
Man I got you beat on the waiting! I'm not sure why I waited either, I've wanted one since I was a freshman in high school, that was 1989, so 23 years I waited!! It's kind of funny actually because in that time I've owned 13 other vehicles, 4 used cars and 9 new ones. Somehow this year, and the 2012 JK seemed right.
My buddy bought a new 2012 Hyundai Elantra, a little light came on on his dash and get this, the dealer had to replace his transmission at 400 miles!! Was all free of course, and no further problems, but anything could happen!
The only problem I've had with mine in the 3 weeks I've owned it happened tonight. My head unit randomly turned off on the way to the store and wouldn't turn back on. No time displayed in the touchscreen like when you manually turn the power off, just a black screen. I tried to turn it back on a couple times while driving and it didn't turn back on till I got back in after spending 15 minutes in the store.
Yeah, maybe we are a bit sensitive. We've taken a lot of guff about the Pentastar - but no more than every major change in Wranglers has seen.
You do need to realize that this is a JK tech forum, and any member with a problem with their JK is going to come here and ask or comment about it. So, you're getting a very skewed, anecdotal view of the latest model having lots of problems, especially with the whole 'new' drive train. As is said too often, nobody posts that they drove their JK today and nothing happened......
In just about 3 - 4 months, the 2013 order banks will open, and the focus will shift from the 2012 and our shakedown experiences. Then we can all bust chops with the 2013ers and their lemons.
2012 JKU Rubicon
2012 2 door rubi 6 speed. Runs AWESOME. First time I've had such a quick ride in a long, long time. I have been lusting after a Wrangler for a long time but I waited for the new engine and I'm glad I did.
It's called the Negative Bias effect. People are more likely to offer negative criticism than positive. In fact, I'm willing to bet a bunch of people joined this forum specifically to address the problems they might have had. For every true enthusiast, I wouldn't be surprised if there were two, three, even four people who had a single issue and wanted a place to vent their frustration.
I love my 11. I wouldn't trade it for a 12. Not because I don't like the new ones, it just the fact that I got a smokin deal on it because the 12's had the new bells and whistles, and they were begging to get the 11's off the lots. . But I agree. It just probably seems like they have problems because people only post when they are having issues. You can do a search and find solutions for the older JK's, but you pretty well have to start a new thread for some of the newer issues on the brand new JK's. One big happy family.
So thank you super 2012 JK's for making my 2011 so affordable. I wouldn't have been able to afford brand new without you. When I hand this one down to my son, I'll be buying a Pentastar for myself!!!

Actually even though this thread appears to have been thrown out as bait I was happy to hear so many are having good luck and the Jeep brand keeps on rolling. I love driving a legend. And even if there had been problems I think they would have fixed them because Jeep is in the business of selling vehicles and their popularity has never been better. My '10 is leaps and bounds better than my '89 and I hope they just keep on getting better so 10 years down the road I'll get an even better one.
The only issue with mine seems to be the flux capacitor. Darn thing won't take me back to 1992 when I first fell in love with the idea of a Jeep! But I'm glad that I finally have one all these years later. But when they come out with the Mr. Fusion edition, I'm all over it!
Cigarettes are like squirrels. Both are perfectly harmless until you put them in your mouth and light them on fire.
