The price is way out of hand. I'll use the extra coin for my own upgrades. Though, the rear bumper is pretty cool looking. Hope it's an upcoming option in the mopar catalog.

Well, I have a Billet JKUR on order that hasn't started production yet. My wife would love the red interior and I really like it as well.

Financially, it's not a bad deal at all and I have to make a decision soon. For roughtly $5000 (MSRP 5400, INV probably close to 48 or 49), it will include leather (1000), Premium top (500), Connectivity (500), rock rails (aftermarket 300-500), steel front bumper (400-600), steel rear bumper (400-600), painted hood (1000 for a painted AEV hood) and an additional 1/2" of height (that gets taken away with smaller tires so it's a wash). Individually that equals $4K minimum, obviously depending on what bumpers, rails, etc. one chooses and I estimated on the low side of things. Price out AEV components and it will equal the total if not surpass it.

I'm all for modding my own Jeep and lord knows I've never left any of my vehicles stock. I've fallen into the trap of ordering aftermarket parts for vehicles I hadn't received before and I'm not saying I wouldn't do the same with a Rubicon. But with the 10A, the pressure is off on some of the parts. And that red interior will look killer with Billet.

But only if I can get my dealer to sell at Affiliate pricing. Seeing how I've always kept my salesman informed of all things Jeep ( ), I don't know if he could give me a straight answer right now. I may try tomorrow and feel him out.

Pat,
Can you try to find out whether or not the EVIC can be "unlocked" on other 2013s with something like a software upgrade or a chip replacement?
So I found out tonight that the EVIC can not be flashed to show more info. In fact the cluster on the 10A is a different part number.

I would assume that some one or some company could unlock the extra info, but I'm sure a company like AEV would have done that with the procal if it was possible.

And tomorrow I should have a pic of the front bumper with the end caps on. Supposedly there has only been one pic taken of the bumper full length.

The link below may have already been posted, but it has some fantastic close-up pics of the 10A.

I do not like that Jeep under the autoshow lighting. Way too cornflower blue. In natural light it looks a lot better.

That lighting is just jacked up. Look at how light fender flares appear.

Black fenders in photos can look totally washed out in the sun too, at certain angles. Lets just be glad that we have any indoor pics at all, because the LA show doesn't officially open to the general public until tomorrow.

If anybody is going to be at the LA Auto Show over the next 10 days I'd sure appreciate seeing more interior pictures of the 10A dash/gauge cluster.

Thanks Pat for all the time and info you've put into this thread.

Price looks fair given what is included...but you can't unlock the EVIC on other 2013 models? WTF? What a joke. My 95 YJ and 01 TJ had gauges for oil pressure, coolant temp, and amps..and they helped save my butt more than once. Why the hell would they include an EVIC that is not completely flashable?

Thanks for the info Pat.

it's pretty absurd that other Chrysler models like the minivans have oil pressure and coolant temp., yet the wrangler, which would actually use those, can't even access them as an option.

i mean come on, who gives a rat's what temperature their minivan coolant is?

Thanks Pat for all the time and info you've put into this thread.

I may go on Sunday morning but it looks like that Jeep is on a raised pedestal.

I need to see this color in person.

I am more and more REALLY liking these bumpers.

Anyone know if they're a new AEV sell to Mopar or who they will be available through?

I am hearing it's an in-house design/build... no AEV involvement on the bumpers or hood.

When I first saw this thing. The front bumper was about the only thing I liked. After seeing some of the close-ups I've changed my mind. I don't like it either.

They said it was a steel bumper but if you look at the pic below...the ends are plastic and look really vulnerable with the lights in them. Also, look at the hole for the hook. The "steel" part looks wafer thin...maybe 1/8" thick?

I do like the 10th anniversary a lot, but its just not for me. I like to mod too much. I want a bigger lift, bigger tires and so on. But if your looking for a package where you dont need to do much then this is deff for you. Jeep being a addictive sport would just result in you modding the anniversary edition and you end up with just a Rubicon with your own parts negating the need for the special edition. Unless you want the rarity of a special edition, which I do think is cool. I do want one but I know it would not fit my needs.

Actually I kind of like it. If I hadn't bought my JK last year I would have considered this.

Gotta say I like the red seats. My very first vehicle when I was 16 was a 1969 Jeep Wagoneer; white with red interior and powered by a Buick 350. When I say red interior, I mean the entire thing was red...seats, dash, carpet, and headliner. I would love to have that today!

Does anyone know if the additional 1/2" of ground clearance is achieved just with the different tires (from the standard Rubicon)? Or is there apt to be some minor lift or suspension differences? Or, perhaps, both?

I believe I read that it is due to different springs in the front suspension.

In one of the videos that was stated. 1/2" in the front due to different springs.

I first didn't like the color but the more I look at it the more I like it. Unfortunately, the red interior is definitively a no go for me. So I'm quite happy to see a nice Jeep honoring the 10th years of the Rubicon model but i'll pass my turn on this one. And fljeepleo has really good points. So I'll wait for the Dune color to be available and if I base my opinion on the Sand Trooper, a dune JKUR will be amazing with black leather, like my 2008 Rescue Green JKUR was.

Overall, I like the color scheme (frankly, I think Wranglers look good in just about any color) and I think the whole package is really cool. I do, however, question how it's going to price out. I just purchased my 2013 Rubicon 2-dr with connectivity package, u-connect, 3-piece hard top, 4.10 ratio, and automatic and I think the sticker price was just over around $35g, so I won't be surprised to see the sticker for the 10th Anniv. edition being north of $40g. And, I imagine the dealers will be reluctant to come off the sticker price, at least for a while. So, for my purposes, and for the price I actually paid, I made the right decision and am very happy with my purchase.

I was parked next to a 2013 FJ Trails Team Edition today and immediately thought the color looked pretty close to the new Jeep Anvil, only less blue. While the FJ was gray and most photos look gray, in person it had a slight bluish tint at certain angles. (I didn't take these pics)

In other words, Toyota got the anvil color correct.

So then Jeep should have released a non-metallic Billet and called it Anvil to be more accurate to the picture in your head from simple nomenclature?

I like Anvil. I like it with the red interior, but I think it needs the red around the rubicon sticker and in the emblems to make it work. It's a nice color and nice edition... but not nice enough for me to regret what I already purchased.
