I'm in Pensacola right now, although Uncle Sam is going to move me somewhere most likely before summer.

One of the top three "big oil" companies cuts my paycheck every two weeks. And I am certainly NOT a fan of this current administration and their policies killing US industry. But the FACT is that the PRIMARY (not sole) reason the price of diesel is pushed higher is by strong demand outside of the U.S. (The U.S. is a gasoline-dominant motor fuels market. 98 percent of passenger vehicles are powered by gasoline with fewer than 2 percent powered by diesel fuel.) Simple supply/demand economics allows more to be charged for diesel, so, oil companies, including my company, can charge higher prices. Considering that diesel is actually a bi-product (distillate) of the refining process of gasoline, it strengthens the argument that it isn't all Uncle Sam. The ULSD regulations became mandate for all passenger vehicles in 2007 - it didn't apply to farm equipment or commercial transportation at that point. Diesel was higher years before those regulations. Tax difference on gas versus diesel is only 6 cents per gallon...
That 15-20% higher premium on diesel is also the fortunate refining state's (southern coastline, mainly) diesel surcharge. Like mentioned above, states like PA are paying over 25% more...

When crude jumps up a dollar a barrel, pumps see 10 cents more. When the barrel comes back down two dollars a barrel, pumps only drop 3-5 cents... That is not our wonderful government... THAT is big oil...

The big caveat here however, the ROOT of the greed lies with OPEC. Get rid of them, get rid of these rising prices at the pump.
Excuse me for not realizing that you were as well informed as you are from the simple original statement. I realize the facts you are stating and didn't mean to imply that a degree of greed isn't involved for many reasons. I "did" want to get it out there that our government is responsible for driving many of these things as well.

To my sorrow we will see all energy prices rise exponentially in the years to come, from fuel to electricity. I'll back up now as to not get on my soapbox with politics,as there are other forums for that.

According to the article, your hope is well placed as it seems the 10A models will get the change since it is a MY13 vehicle.

Here is my response from Jeep at my request for individual unit numbering plates on each 10A. Please send a note requesting that Jeep include a numbered plate (also had to comment about interest in the winch option)...had to ask....I'm hoping each in you will contact Jeep too!

I had actually asked Jeep for information on the limited edition 10A Rubi winch that was displayed on the 10A Rubi at the various car shows. And red stitching on black seats!! Lol

Had to try the direct approach, after all I own a Jeep Wrangler, never go around what you can go over or through! :-)

If you don't already know there is a forum that is just for current and ex-military members. It is Military Jeepers and you will have lots of great people to help you find wheeling spots at your new location. There are area specific groups all over the country that usually have a monthly meeting so everyone can get to know each other and talk about where to go and do some wheeling.

NP... I've been with an exploration company for many years, and we were recently bought out by one of the big three... Not a fan of 100K employee corporate empire - guess I'm a little bitter - but I do at least get to keep my job, which is always a good thing. So, didn't mean to sound off... and believe me, I can climb up on the soap box all too easily when it comes to politics...

So, as this waiting room changes direction to "where we are from..."

Originally Central PA... then Houston TX (work transfer) now San Antonio, TX (own choice and best I ever made!)

No answers, (luckily Pat and Archer usually come through) Jeep rep stated that they logged my suggestions, figure if the customer requests meet a pre-determine threshold in number or timeframe of recommendations within a short period that someone at Jeep may take notice.

This is a good place to generate the interest to encourage Jeep's changes!
