I like Anvil. I like it with the red interior, but I think it needs the red around the rubicon sticker and in the emblems to make it work. It's a nice color and nice edition... but not nice enough for me to regret what I already purchased.
Correct. Non metallic Billet called Anvil would have sufficed . And as an FYI, I have a Billet JKUR on order. I love Billet, but would have loved it even more if it wasn't metallic.

I also have said several times that I like the new Jeep anvil color. I also like the red seats. I like the 10A as a whole and was debating cancelling my Billet for a Billet 10A. I just don't believe Jeep's anvil color is a true representation of the color of an anvil, which brings to mind a gray to dark gray color. So, yeah. I'm totally fine with the color. I don't like their naming process.

Here's a pic of the plaque mounted in the dash tray of the 10A, supposedly with information on the vehicle's axle type and ratio, tire size, transfer case crawl ratio, and manufacturing location,....kinda cool!

...and a little better pic of the dash.

Have I mentioned that I like the red seats .

But, after talking it over with the wife, I can't see spending the extra money on a 10A to only turn around and mod it, which I would do anyway.

That's exactly the point. Every Jeep Freak will want an Anniversary Rubicon Limited Edition but every Jeep freak will want to mod it. That's ironic and this vehicle has in fact no reason to be. It's just great to look at but Definitively not an interesting Jeep to buy IMO. Maybe for the wife if I had too much money to spend...

Well, there are a lot of people who don't modify their Jeeps. There are several threads on here made up of enthusiasts who like their Jeeps stock. The 10A is great for them as it has enough extra's to justify the extra cost. I happen to fall into the category of modifying a vehicle to make it my own. I'll have my regular Billet Jeep Rubicon with 2.5" lift and black wheels so that I can be unique . LOL.

I've never seen an anvil that was periwinkle. Maybe it's a special one that makes unicorn horseshoes?

A non-metallic billet would have been so much better.

I should get a brochure for this on Monday and I'll try to get it posted.

Smaller Diameter Tires

The tires on this 10th Edition Rubicon are actually smaller diameter than the regular Rubicon tires:

Regular Rubicon: 255/75R17 = 32.1" Diameter

10th Edition Rubicon: 265/70R17 = 31.7" Diameter

These 70 series tires are 0.7" wider, but they are also smaller in diameter.

Exact specs are here:

LT265/70R17 Tires | BFGoodrich Tires

I agree on the wheels. The Rubi wheels took some time to grow on me. I like them now. But, I like these much better. I assume it wouldn't be that difficult to have the interior portion of the standard Rubi wheel (the part that is currently grey/charcoal/ or perhaps "anvil") painted to look like that. Any thoughts on that?

As to the color, I like it. The only anvils I have ever seen are on the Roadrunner cartoons when they drop on the coyote's head. It certainly doesn't look like that, however. Funny how my impression of a color is created by old cartoons.

Are the 10th Anniversary Rubicons numbered? What is the specific number of units that they are going to produce? i.e. will the 10th Anniversary edition be serialized? Does the badging that is on the center dash have this number (if there is one)? Thanks

That's a good question. That would be a cool fact!

Though I was told early on that Anvil wasn't the NuKizer color, I was still hoping it would be close to that "trash can gray"...

Also disappointed the package is not offered in Dune

In addition to the size difference, they are about 10 lbs/tire heavier than the standard Rubicon tires due to the 4 extra plies. The standard Rubicon is expressly made for the Jeep Rubicon with 6 plies to help with the overall weight and MPG numbers.

OK, If there is only going to be 1000 made......it sounds like the chances of getting one are pretty slim. Are dealers taking orders for them right now?

Unless something has changed with the color release schedule, I believe the availability date for the Anvil color is March 4th... I'm not sure whether or not they're doing the other colors sooner.

Pat?

March is the scheduled production date. Orders go in before that. And I believe there was info a few pages back that indicated pre orders in December.

Edit: this says on bottom right that "info" will be released regarding pre orders in December.

The schedule I was referring to is the official list of dates that each color becomes an available option in the ordering system. As I said, they may do the other colors sooner, but Anvil isn't supposed to be an available option in the actual dealers' ordering system until March 4th.

Furious Fuchsia (yikes!) is scheduled for availability on May 6th...

Possible 500 pre orders. Sounds like there will be a 50/50 split on how you can pre order. You can either pre order a standard package, meaning no extras like hard top, nav, etc or you can pre order a fully loaded version. No customizing the options you want on pre orders.

Again none of this is set in stone yet, it's still all being discussed. Though I would love to give my $.02

Not yet, we won't know more until later this month. the other number that has recently been thrown around is up to 3500 being produced.

Thanks for the info Pat. 3500 sounds like a better number. Since you are the "Master" aka a very valuable asset to our Jeep community.....another question, just to compare. What were the production numbers for the COD package or Tomb Raider edition or any other numbered Wranglers? Common sense would tell Jeep that this edition should have higher demand than those and therefore higher production numbers..........depends on your opinion, of course.
Thank you Pat. I enjoy following the wealth of information you provide for us.

3500 max? I can see an extra $2-3K "market adjustment" on top of the sticker by a lot of dealers.

COD was 3500 Altitude was 4000 IIRC. 2012 Freedom was around 1200 I think.

Some dealers will be over sticker, guess what? I won't be over sticker! It's against the Fields Auto Group policy, and I wouldn't do it anyways. It's not how I do things. Just find a dealer that is willing to work with you.

I'm pretty sure most members here are hoping for the standard affiliate pricing at 1% under invoice (or better), not sticker or anything close to it... is that a pipedream?
