I found a very nice tire size calculator at wallaceracing.com that also has them for doing gears and such as well. So I ran both tires through the process and for the 10a 265/70 r17 it gives height 31.61, width 10.43. For the regular rubi tires of 255/75 r17 it gives height 32.06, width 10.04. I was doing this because I was thinking going with these tires GoodYear Wrangler MT/R Kevlar 285/70 r17 which give height 33.0, width 11.5 and recommended to mounted on the same width rim that the 10a comes with 7.5, so seems like a perfect match. Will just have to wait and see if it will work I guess.

Would having a jeep with a low number make a difference to anyone? as opposed to getting a high number. If so, the low numbered one should go to those who ordered first and I dont think thats they way the 10A will be produced. probably pose a whole new problem for jeep that they dont want or have to deal with.

Whatever number I get would just be my number, low number or high makes no difference, provides a bit more uniqueness and discussion point with other 10A and wrangler owners.

I went to Jeep.com and in the search window (upper right) and I entered customer service and the phone numbers for the US and the email was provided for customer service.

I am going to laugh my ass off if Jeep - in the unlikely circumstance - listens to all these folks asking for their JKR10A/JKUR10A units to be numbered, and delays production to comply. What exactly is the benefit of numbering? Does it increase the value of the vehicle at all? Bragging rights? Do numbers closer to '1' sit at the head of the table at meets? Do you expect somebody to pay you more money at resale because your build is in the top ten (unlikely)?

As far as I am concerned, there is only one number I am interested in: the VIN.

Numbering

A VIN and email confirmaion reading", production sheduled, then " frame", then" shipment" will be sho nuff be welcome news for me! My gut tells me that it will be later than sooner though. Oh well, patience will pay off. Hope the Rubi 10A family has a safe, blessed weekend out there.

On April 1st. We will learn that the 10A is actually a 2wd, RHD Sport with the Chrome package. Cheers!

Have to figure you start seeing emails in early March - as long as there aren't additional delays of course...

Good points. This thread has caused me to laugh my ass off numerous times. It's been very entertaining. I've never seen a group so obsessed with trying to get something for nothing or trying to pressure Chrysler into doing something that was clearly not in the agreement when they ordered. Some want a free winch. Some want a certain color stitching on their seats. Some want to change the color of anvil. Some want a special tracking system for the 10A. Some want to limit the number built even though Chrysler has never really officially said there will only be a specific number produced. (The original 2003 Wrangler brochure, which I gave the buyer of my '03, stated that the Rubicon itself was a limited edition. We all know what happened with that promise).

Now they want special little numbered plaques. Sheesh...it's just another special edition Jeep. And while the 10A may have a few more useful modifications from the factory than the standard gimmicky special edition, it's still just a cosmetic package with a few nice parts thrown in that aren't as good as what you can get in the aftermarket.

No thanks...I prefer to design my own special edition...as I think most jeepers do. The only thing on the 10A that I will be envious of is the enhanced EVIC. Everything else, I'd probably switch out or cover up...right down to the hood decals.

I've always liked Jeeps so when it was time to start looking for another vehicle I decided to look at the Wranglers. The local dealer had at least 40 on the lot but didn't see anything interesting. They had one MOAB and one Rubicon (sold). I stumbled on WranglerForum this week while researching what to purchase. I really wanted some type of special edition to be a little different. I looked at the MOAB and Freedom Edition but they just didn't get me excited enough to pull the trigger. I was not in a hurry so I thought I would take my time and maybe find something in a few months. Then I found this thread two days ago about the 10A. I knew this is what I wanted so placed on order on 2/22. I really struggled with the color. Black is too hard to keep clean, I had Silver cars in the past that the paint oxidized so that left White or Anvil. I really like White but Anvil looked so different in every picture. Since it would be so hard to order Anvil without seeing it, I decided to go with White.

My order:

10A JKU 2013

White
Red Seats
5-Speed Automatic
Body Color Hard Top
Body Color Fender Flares
Dual Top Group
Max Tow Package
Remote Start
Dual Top Group

Thanks to all that have posted about the 10A this has been an outstanding resource!

You sure have posted a WHOLE LOT in here to have no interest.

I do agree that this group has been really anxious for details and extras but I think rightly so given this is obviously a tribute model to the original flagship Ribicon not just some random special edition. As I've said many times they numbered a silly video game edition I don't think asking for numbered units is all that far off in left field.

And I think you'll find that most of my posts related to Anvil, which truly interested me. It's turned out to be a very nice color. All things Jeep interest me. But I just can't see paying extra for bumpers that I would replace, springs that I would replace, tires that I would replace, seats that I would certainly cover up, etc. Don't get me wrong, the 10A will be a great Jeep just like all Rubicons...especially for people who don't want to spend the money or time to mod their vehicle for a while...if at all. Any Rubicon is pretty darn trailworthy right out of the box. The bumpers, tires, and very slight lift make this one a little more so.

I don't think spending 40k+ is nothing...this thread was fun until now..people being rude and cutting others down. I'm out. Enjoy your 10a's when you get them.

Moab, you came off quite a bit 'holier than thou' Which I'm sure was unintentional....right?
Trust me, we all know all these little special things that we are talking out won't happen, they are just things to talk about to pass the time.
Whether you go wheeling in your Jeep, or keep it on the asphalt; mod it to the extreme, or keep it as stock as the day you bought it, it's about the love of the vehicle. With all that being said, let's ALL not start bickering about stupid stuff and ruin this thread. No one should talk any mess, because I don't see anyone using a Jeep for what it was originally designed for.

So how about that red stitching…

I dont see any problem with people wanting a #'ed badge or whatever. If jeep wants to have all these special editions or limited editions they should do that. The COD's come with it on the grab handle of the glove box and its a cool reminder that its a limited production.

I could really care less about a "numbered" plate. I have one on the dash of the wife's '09 Charger/Daytona, it's 168/400. This year model had the lowest production number of Daytonas.

In the end it doesn't improve any function of the automobile, doesn't make it a better DD for her and doesn't do anything value wise if I wanted to trade or sell.

I deal with antique cars and show cars. the only time something like this matters is with an automobile over 30 years old (shelby, cobra, etc.). How many here are "really" going to keep and maintain their 10A for 30+ years. Almost none, which is the reason the vehicles that old bring big bucks and the number matters. It doesn't matter that they are numbered as much as how many of that number are left, Think Packard or Dusenberg and Auburn.

People who have attempted to profit from late model special editions have found that they not only don't in the 10 year short term(antique car wise short term) but they also never enjoyed the vehicle at all, much less as intended due to trying to preserve it and keep it low to no miles.

So you can keep your numbers as far as I'm Concerned. The only number which interests me is VIN# DL 615XXX.

Nothing about the 10A on the Jeep.ca website. I wouldn't be surprised if most people here hadn't a clue about the 10A. =P The MOAB is pretty non existent as well. No advertising at all from what I could see.
