That pic of Anvil is the reason I picked that color. Earlier in this thread (or somewhere on the inter web) there is an outdoor close-up shot of the bumper. The color is the same. I forgot about that pic. So yes, the other pic is billet. I concede! And am happy to see a sunny pic of Anvil. Its pretty sweet and will be one of those colors (like Rescue Green, Commando Green, True Blue, etc...) that will look different on gray, overast days too!

I've been looking back through the posts but haven't found an answer to my question yet ... hoping someone can help me. I ordered my 10A on 3/16 (Black Unlimited / Red). How long does it typically take to get the VON after an order has been placed? Anyone else order in March that has a realistic timeline for delivery?

Thanks!!

The pic of Anvil on the jeep website is what made me decide AGAINST getting the 10A. Then I saw it on other websites AFTER I bought a '13 Sahara. I'm driving the 13 like an old lady in order to keep it pristine for trading in for my 10A!

I had a VON before I left the dealer.

Your dealership should of given it to you at the time you ordered your jeep

I'm sure this has been said a couple of times, but with this new pic and the comments over it let me say from the point of view of someone who knows a tad bit about photography...

You can't trust pictures on the internet. I can take that image, throw it in Lightroom or Photoshop and make it slide on the scale either way in about 30 seconds. More importantly than that, camera to camera pictures just don't work off the same base. Point and shoots automatic exposure is meh at best and can make colors vary wildly. Besides that, the human eye is much better at processing visuals in person than a camera can relay via a photo.

The Jeep promotional images on the 10a site were professionally edited, and not with the intent of misrepresenting the color (in fact, much care was probably taken to NOT misrepresent them). They look extra shiny, were taken at just the right time of day, and post-processed in PS or the likes.

I say all that to say (and I'm sure not for the first time in this thread)... don't get your panties in a wad about colors professional or amateur pictures... chances are, it's not a true representation.

I almost ordered Anvil because I liked the idea of a limited color but I just couldn't pull the trigger on an unknown, so I ordered black. I was going to order a black Rubi until I went to the site and saw the 10A. I would be hugely upset to think it was a gray and wound up with that bluish hue. I personally think that it is hideous.

That is a pretty good choice - I think those will look great with billet! And subtle, just like you said in an earlier post.

I ordered yesterday and received my VON in real time. It is probably there, like stated earlier, just ask the dealer.

Good news, I'm don't wear panties to wad up.
This is what I expected to hear, HOWEVER it seems we keep seeing both daylight and indoor shots that make anvil look blue and then people say "nah it's just the exposure and reflection of the sky/LED/fluorescent light."

Can we at some point assume anvil is a darker gray with blue tint?
This is by far the best real world pic yet of the mighty Anvil!

The whole picture is some kind of gimmick anyway. Over exposed and staged when you look at the car in the background. It appears that they just washed the Jeep for the photo and it is at Moab? Something very funny going on.

I don't care what anvil ends up looking like just as long as it gets in my driveway real soon.

I hear you - would hate to only see the color on the configurator and then see a totally different color when it arrived. Other than the build your jeep portion of the site, anvil appears to have a blueish hue. The build your jeep color didn't come online until around March 4, so more than half of the orders were based off of the autoshow and 10a splash page. Hopefully there won't be any disappointed souls that based their anvil order off of the build your jeep page alone! I like the anvil in the latest pic - reminds me of steel blue in a way.

I just can't wait for one of us who ordered this in the beginning gets one so we can get a set of shots showing this thing from all kinds of angles. I am sure it will be a while before I get mine since it seems getting a manual tranny has made them slower to be produced but will post up all kinds of shots when I do get. Sure hope that won't be long now. Still so many unanswered questions about what is and is not real about these things.

So, who's gonna be the first to pick up their 10a? Parker maybe?

the rims are not bad. 35" tires?
Do you need a lift for that size?

Glad I changed my mind a day after placing my order and got white. I was really hoping that Anvil would be all dark grey with no blue tint. Now it's just teal.

I have yet to see a pic of Anvil that I don't like even though they've been all over the place as far as the color goes.

This will need to be changed to a stainless 2.5" rear dump .. and make sure its not noticeable.

I went with the black top and fenders as I prefer the contrast. IMO it just looks a little "tougher". To each his own.

Looking at both those pictures blown up and they seem to have either the exact same dent or so close that I can't tell since I can't get them up side by side. Only difference is no winch in one of them?

Yes, i know, its called Anvil-gate, and its been beaten to death in this forum, but seriously someone at Jeep needs to get their sh*t together. Imagine the guy that orders based on the 'build your wrangler' app online and ends up getting what we see in the other pictures. It like the difference between red and pink.

A blind person could prob tell these colors apart.

If its true that Jeep management looks at these forums, then please, Mr or Ms Jeep employee, explain why this color is SOOOO different from all the other colors that Chrysler appears to represent well in all its marketing materials.
Hi ccBB

Just thinking out of the box.

I believe Chrysler did not want the competition to see this color ANVIL. This is why its been top secret. For me to decide is when I go to my dealership and see it in person. I will tell Lori my saleslady I will take it. If not I will post ASAP here that the dealership has one. I am trading in my 2013 Rubi red cherry pearl and I own it. The red cherry pearl on jeeps website does not look like mine its much darker which I wanted. I will be taking a $5000 hit for something I have not seen. I bought mine in 12/12 and have been driving it and might be $800 a month and had only 8 miles on it.
But, I want the 10A and some others might bail out and I may find a black one. That's why my sales person stated if you back out no foul. We have 4 Jeep dealerships in my area. She will be able to sell mine in a heartbeat. I still might buy it because of the Rubi history and this is the flagship color. I might get mine on 4/9/13 my B-Day.
