This one IS for the wife. She loves autos. I'll still be driving my '03 manual Rubi around.

Not to say it won't see the trails. If it comes in on time it will see windrock up in oak ridge TN soon.

But, yeah: I think caveman's pictures are of the first two door in the wild that I can think of. At least on this forum anyways.

LOL......well, I waited this long (almost 13 weeks?) A few more hours won't hurt. And, it had better be perfect when I pick it up.

Living it the northeastern states you start to like a automatic at rush hour in the cities. I love a stick anytime over a auto. But It sucks in hours of traffic. 1st gear brake stopfirst gear brake stop etc. Plus I love remote start to warm it up on those 10 degree days

Goddamned right it better be!

Just think: a few more painful, agonizing, slow, tepid hours. No worries

I could definitely see the auto tranny being the go to daily driver in gridlock. Luckily my wife's commute is 8 rural city blocks with 3 traffic lights ( timed low volume at that)

That being said my daily driver is an auto also. I just love the manual.

I wouldve got the manual but the hubby wouldnt drive it then! Plus my drive to work has lots o traffic, really sucks having a stick when you dont get out of 2nd gear...Ive been driving a stick for the past 7 years, itll be nice not having to do it in traffic.

I'll take it through a touchless auto wash before I trust them not to swirl my paint with used wash rags or scratch my tint with their class ring they forgot to take off. Both of those from experience personally and for the swirls both personally and stories from friends. Plus his is black, the most sensitive paint color on earth.

Someone's been watching this ... when I called to inquire about the $500 incentive, I said I have a 10A on order and want the discount like others are receiving .. the CSR commented that he was well aware of this thread and I don't qualify.

Big Brother style.

The "Lord Chrysler" comments remind me of the unofficial slogan for HK:

"Because you suck and we hate you."

Yep .. some dealers won't allow the vehicle to roll off the lot without it since its a state law.

Btw... you don't know how close I came to ordering white. I love white vehicles. I let my GF choose since she's a graphic designer.. we went back and forth and she finally won.

Soccer moms have just realized that they like it too. As long as Jeep keeps selling them and keeping them trail rated to be recognized as 4x4 of the year/decade, I will be okay with folks calling it minivan...with doors and tops that come off! Best minivan EVER!!
My first 4x4 was an International ,Scout Ragtop - Loved it, it could climb trees (no not really but very capable) Had 3 Isusu troopers after that and really missed the ragtop and removeable doors, but needed the 4 doors and large capacity cu ft of interior hauling that my big white boxes offerred.

Spoke with my fleet manager yesterday neither one of us can figure out why no one else offers at 4 door convertible in the marketplace especially a 4x4.
Really makes no sense. We both figure that the profit margins on the jeep must be pretty high because they are really not that much of a build, but there are no other choices/competition out there.
Traffic in, around, and out of SoFlo is alot easier to live with in an auto, plus the wife prefers auto to stick.
Had a stick in one of the Troopers ('91) and got caught in a traffic jam in I-81 in the SW Virginia mountains -- after several hours of misery of stop and go on the inclines I made my decision to go with AT from that point forward, although I did get one my stick on a convertible sports car.
If I mostly had it off road and could avoid traffic I would go with a stick, but thats just not practical for me.

Well .. Chrysler is known for its satanic roots. When Cerberus bought them we knew it was the prophecy.

They’re controlling our thoughts and how we spend our money…

We explain it as a Jeep Thing …

Yes, when I called a few weeks back I felt like they were taking down my name and putting it on the "don not send Chrysler cash" list.

I did finally receive a mailer - it was for the Grand Cherokee Trail Hawk and included a paper punch model of hawk with a 2ft+ wingspan that it instructs me to hang from the ceiling with fishing line...no golden ticket...

Major happy news for quite a few members of the board today. A hearty congratulations to each of you. I know you have been waiting for quite some time and I glad to see you finally got some great news today. There is progress being made so the rest of us can take solace that we are moving closer to our day in the sun
I finally got a brochure today, no $500 coupon, but a nice cut-out of a red tail hawk that I will put together for my son. Thanks Lord Chrysler
