Thanks Ryan and Wolf. I'll do a chalk test this weekend and let you know the results. I was thinking about this tuner for adjusting the TPMS limits.

The problem with oversized tires on a small vehicle is that the load range really doesn't mean anything anymore. Sitting on the ground the Jeep comes nowhere near the operating range of the tires. Of course on any vehicle, assuming stock tires, you fill them based on the plaque on the door opening, never based on the sidewall. Tire dealers and shops always seemed to love to jack 50 psi in my Jeep. The ideal way to determine the correct pressure is to chalk the ground and check the contact patch by running over the chalk and observing the pattern on the tire. Its a pain, and partially subjective, but its better than the other guess work methods, and way better than the sidewall. I do all 4 tires and take an average, or take an average per axle and run different pressures front and rear. You can also find charts from the manufacturer with pressured based on total vehicle load weight. This can be a good starting point before you use the chalk method. Running too high a pressure is potentially as bad as running too low a pressure. Both cause premature wear and bad road handling. The extra problem with too low is the excessive heat build up due to hysteresis which greatly increases the rate at which the tire breaks down and fails.
What does it say in the owner's manual to put them?

Glad it worked for you. I just put a fix in for an issue that was reported this morning, so if you had trouble originally, try again. (Jeep returned extra whitespace on the end of the code.)

It's incredibly hard to test this sort of thing because I do not control Jeep's response and only have one Jeep on order.

If anyone has suggestions or runs across any more problems, let me know.

Thanks!

EDIT: Looking at the requests, I didn't make it clear enough for people to enter the LAST 8 of your VIN, just exactly like you do in VOTS. I've updated the input box to suggest such. Sorry!
Didn't work this morning but is working now. Thanks, nice job!!!!

I'd check the plate on the door opening first unless, the owners manual is 10a specific. Although the plate may not be correct either. That's a good check. Anyone with a 10a yet want to check the door sill plate and see if it references the 10a specific tires, please? Hell, they may not even reference Rubicon tires. Maybe all Jeeps just show the recommended pressure for a Sport. Hopefully Jeep puts a specific plate on the vehicle for the actual tires that come on it from the factory. I believe they are required by law. On cars with stock tires I've always filled based on this plate/plaque/sticker or whatever you want to call it.

New 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 10th Anniversary Rubicon For Sale in Orange County & Huntington Beach, CA 1C4HJWFG9DL646651

Even though I'm in Arizona, this is where I purchased my '13 Rubicon.
This is a serious Jeep dealer! After going to half a dozen different dealers here and in Calif, we go there and they have something like 90 JKs in the back and probably 1/4 of them are Rubis. Impressive to say the least. They have such a huge inventory it would be hard not to find one you want.
As of this morning... they have 5 10As on the lot. All Unlimiteds. 2 black, 1 white, 1 billit, and 1 anvil. All at a $2k discount.

Stickers are required to be vehicle specific (VIN# in corner) ever since the Firestone Tire/Ford Exploder issues. Also why TPM systems were mandated.

need measurement please!!!

can one of you guys that have received your vehicle give me a rough measurement from your grill to the front of the crush cans on the front bumper?

In other words how far does the bumper stick out from the grill?

Many thanks...

Mine:
"Ford Exploder"

The Ford/Firestone issue brings up a good point. While both companies share some of the blame, Ford made a specific decision to lower the recommended pressure on the tires. This is the pressure listed on these plaques. The decision to do this was based on the fact that the Explorer had handling problems and Ford was already dealing with bad press over the Bronco II. Lowering the tire pressure and stiffening the springs was cheaper than lowering the engine or widening the track. The problem, of course, was that the Firestone tires couldn't handle the increased heat. Its true the the equivalent Goodyear tires at this pressure exhibited less problems. Personally I've always thought Firestone tires were garbage, but Ford purposely took the tires outside of Firestone's specifications and against their objections.
The upshot of all of this is that this plaque should be a guide, and may be based on some less than ideal engineering compromise. On a Jeep or any vehicle with oversized tires I would still do a chalk test, and check the tires for signs of issues regularly. We already know that Jeep made one engineering compromise with the 14mm track bar bolt to facilitate production line dynamic alignment. While not unsafe it does necessitate routine checking of the trackbars bolt above and beyond the service guides recommendations.
If my memory serves me correctly, on a TJ with 315 75R 16's I ran somewhere around 32 PSI on the road and had excellent wear. The first set lasted over 80K miles. Of course there is a huge difference in the size of a 35 and a 32 inch tire volumemetrically speaking and a regular TJ weighs a lot less than a JKU. One of the first things I do when I get the 10a is to go chalk test it. Sorry If I'm beating a dead horse.

Looks good, there are some that good better and some that didn't. As long as you are comfy with the numbers thats all that matters. That my .02 worth anyway. If yours had dual top, then you did real good !

I just installed the same hoist last week. I like it a lot, however the instructions were poorly written in my view. It sure is nice to just toggle the hoist switch instead of cranking or pulling.

Well sir, my sales guy just called. The 10th A got dropped this morning. I am a work, so it'll be later that I get to go by there. I could not get him off the phone. He said 'I sell Jeeps for a living and nothing comparable has ever come out of the factory'.

Great news Bob. This is my first Jeep, but I sat in and drove a number of them in my search. This one exceeds them all at this point. Look forward to hearing about your experience. Hope it wipes away all the aggravation of the past three months!

Ended up buying the Mopar Storage Rack for the hardtop, MSRP $500, dealer knocked it down to $450 Was hoping for more of a discount, but it is cheaper than the Bestop cart. The cart will be in next week and will post photos of it when it arrives.

Edit: macsj, love the Lange hoist. Will you leave hanging from the ceiling or will you store it on a cart?
