[QUOTE=fastNugly;3660787]Congrats!
So what you are saying is that it looks good in person?

Very much so! I couldn't be happier with the color.

Thanks for the pics! Thank you for the regards you gave to my wife while you were there. It is greatly appreciated. Now to wait until October until I can drive it for the first time!!!

Hey Brent. I have called Detroit home for most of my life. I am totally new to jeep. I had always wanted one and figured this was the perfect opportunity to jump in. I'm interested in said trails as I am not familiar with anything near me but want to see what my 10A is capable of in the wild ASAP. I do know there are some cool trails up around Gladwin as well.

Question to all the jeep veterans on this thread....these quality control issues that have been posted by some that have taken delivery...is this sort of par for the course with wranglers/rubicons in general??? Just curious (10a will be first jeep for me since an old CJ long time ago).

Hope I am wrong but these problems are popping up here and we are just a small population of 10A owners. Wonder what other issues are out there.

How do we already have a punch list of problems to look out for... at DELIVERY!!!

CHRYSLER! JEEP! FIAT! TAKE NOTICE!!!

Wrong knobs, wrong plates, cracked hardtops, bad paint, missing bolts, surface rust, leaky dashboards, missing threads?! What's next?
I tried to send a email to Mr Betts, the Senior Vice President - Quality, about my paint and several other items on my 10A. Just requesting any support his experts can provide my dealer to correct the factory quality issue items. We'll see if I get a response.

I'm just breathing through the issue. :-). Anvil looks even better after the second hand wax.

Speaking of quality issues, it rained yesterday and I went to go for a drive afterwards. While no water made it inside the car while it rained, the water that was left over on the roof after it finished raining would drip on the dashboard every time I hit the brakes to stop.

This will be the first Chrysler product I will have ever owned, been a general motors fan all my life and I have bought a many of them. I am totally honest when I say this, it has me Leary as hell reading all these quality issues that appear to be not just isolated incidents. As I wait for my order to arrive, its mixed emotions and worry that surround this buyer. The integrity of a mid 40K item should not be in question.

No. Definately not. I'm on Jeep #7 and all but the first was a Chrysler product. I never had any problems except a bad rear diff input shaft seal. This is not the norm.

Same occasionally happened on my 2011 Rubi with the hard top. Didn't happen all the time so I wasn't really too worried about it. Shouldn't be an issue with the 10A though, got the trail rider this time.

Can someone PM the spreadsheet for the punch list being used as the pick up inspection checklist?

If I hear back from Mr Betts, I want to share it with him so Jeep may better address the issues with quality. Thank you.

Gents and Ladies,

An example of the paint issues on various locations on my Anvil 10A

The rough areas with a bit discoloration are my concern. You can see the rough paint when the doors are closed too so the flawed paint is visible on the exterior and obvious when doors are off.

Any suggestions?

Yeesh!

That should be body shop repairable, at Jeep's cost, that is. Then again this, coupled with your other issues should be a new 10A period. You paid how much, and waited how long..?

C'mon, Jeep!

It color depends on the light conditions, it is awesome. That is why I am skeptical that the body shop can match the paint without shading and discoloration. I just don't have faith they can blend the color when it changing the way it does. It is a mystery color! I like it more everyday!

Seems so odd that issues are arising when it's simple stuff that are being added onto the standard rubicon assembly line product to create the 10a. Very odd and disturbing....

Yes, it is supposed to be able to accept the AEV tire carrier.

FYI, I don't see your signature.

This is typical... back in 2008/09 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8's were coming off the line with misaligned doors and lightly dusted base and clear coats. That was before they had massive layoffs - closing second shifts.

The only way to remedy that paint issue is to lightly color sand and buff... or recoat with a clear. The base coat looks fine from here. I've seen entire hoods where the base coat was lightly dusted, leaving holidays.

You may be able to take warranty / lemon law action... if I'm not mistaken, there's supposed to be an engineering specification for paint thickness as it comes through the tunnel.

Trying to prove that it doesn't match the spec is the hard part.

I noticed the same thing. During the time sitting at the salesman's desk there were no less then a dozen people walking around the 10A and taking pics with their phones like paparazzi! A couple customers were in the waiting room with me and I told them I was just waiting to finalize a sale on a Jeep Wrangler I ordered. First response was "oh that dark gray one with red seats out there?" "That thing is really nice"

I have a feeling there is going to be more where that came from going forward. Especially with the full painted Anvil scheme as I really think it is a tremendous visual effect.

As others have said the Anvil paint is really something else when seen in person. The funny part is it looks like every picture that's been on the internet but you will get at least 2-3 shades every time you look at it depending on the angle and lighting. So the answer to Anvil-gate on which is the "real" anvil.... THEY ALL ARE!

Does anyone know if the AEV molded mud flaps will fit the 10A rear bumper. We pull water toys in the summer months and rocks have proven very troublesome without mud flaps. I had the OEM stock molded mud flaps on our 2010 Rubicon but by looking at the rear bumper these are not going to be compatable. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

I do not think they will work! Here is what AEV says, ".AEV’s Splash Guards were custom-contoured to match the shape and lines of the AEV Rear Bumper. Unlike a more generic, flat mud flap, they don’t lend themselves well to custom applications."
