I do in Cali. I was going to try and find a fold down plate similar to what my YJ has on the rear and mount it up front.

has anyone done any mods to the front bumper yet? im still curious if any one has added a bull bar or stinger to the new factory bumpers, or if they think the metal to just too thin? i really like the new bumper and would like to keep it but once it gets here the winch will be added and here in texas i need to protect my winch and front end from the deer. I was thinking a bull bar would be possible by the pictures just dont know how sturdy it will be. I would prefer a stinger, nothing to wild just for the protection and the look is awesome but it will be a while before i get it all moded out for crawling and i know how other jeepers get mad about the posers that do the crawler look for mall crawlers, but i will eventually get there!

I also got an aftermarket hitch(rugged ridge with wire harness for $59.00 on sale. It came with bolts and nuts. I did not have to use the bolts and nuts it came with. I removed the spacer plate you were talking about and use stock bolts and installed hitch. 2o minutes tops with wire harness.. Like you said why pay jeep so much for there tow package?

Did you use spacers? I ordered a set of rugged ridge wheels 9x17 with 4.75 back space. I ordered the same tires 305x70x17. I am in new jersey. Wheel spacers are not legal here.

Really like the Teraflex tire carrier as it keeps the wheel centered. With the 10A bumper, am able to put it on the lowest position (stock 32") which gives excellent visibility from the rear window.

I got the quadratec and it appears the nuts are welded on the hitch. I checked rugged ridge site and theirs looked welded too(based on their picture). So if the nuts are welded you will have to cut them off? It sounds like your hitch came with nuts and bolts unattached is that right? Thanks.

Have found the perfect theme song for the 10a. It is by Roy Orbison and is "You Got It".

Front plate

Under the front seat. Seriously, right now my front license plate is destroyed. I have applied for another which takes several months to get. I have a DVM paper in the Jeep should I get stopped. Meanwhile, I'm going to install the Warn winch 10a issue when it becomes available. There are several aftermarket license plate kits made especially for winches (Warrior Products, Street Scene, Kilby Enterprises, etc). I may go for one of those or fabricate one myself. I have to wait for the winch to be installed to eyeball just where the license plate should go based upon visibility and esthetics.

Nice, i have ridden many of the gladwin trails on a rzr and st helen and have come across a few jeeps out there. looking at the dnr website/trailmaps it looks like there are alot of trails in the kalkaska area wide enough for full size vehicles. do you have your 10a yet / what color?

With or without the window open?

Yes, I'm running a set of 1.5" spacers. Here in AZ, we don't have regulated safety checks only smog checks...

No rubbing with the spacers but haven't tried to disconnect and get it at full flex yet. The rear section of the rock rails are the closest point of contact but they look like they'll be ok.

Don't really understand why Jeep would trim the factory pinch seam and leave the rock rails extended ~1.5" longer.

I was originally thinking about an AEV 2.5" lift kit until learning about the 10A taller springs. Will be trying it out in stock form for a while before making the final decision.

Here's a couple of pictures to highlight the rock rails:

Wow is all I have to say. It's been said before but these make getting in and out incredibly easier considering I'm 5'10". I absolutely love these handles and they are worthy every penny I spent.

Doctorsti - I've already got the same front grab handles on order but didn't order the rear ones due to the exposed hanging bar.

Looking for your opinion... Are they far enough out of the way so you wouldn't hit your head on them getting in and out or worse yet contact them in an accident?

I'm guessing the 3.5"

Tough call... My best guess would be no. Bet you'd need to trim the rock rails and add 1"-2" spacers unless you stay only on the pavement.

I wish you luck with the setup. Post pictures when you get them!
