Picked mytwo door Anvil up Monday. Only problem I had was a rattel at idle.
Track it to drivers side, behind rear wheel, where rear bumper flange overlaps wheel well extintion.
I loosen up three bolts, seperated the two plastic parts where the met and knock on wood no more problems.
I know this isnt the best discription

Here's another post from just last week with a similar problem. It's a 2 door too, = ?

Looks awesome. I looked at and really liked the Fuel Trophy (Black w/ grey rings) 17x8.5 wheels, but I called Fuel and they told they wold NOT fit a 2013 unless I went to a 20x9 because of the off-set. DAMN!! Really liked them and they are new/different! Also, one guy told me hey were hub centric and another guy said they weren't. I'm not sure who to believe???

They told me the backspacing and offset do not work unless you go to the 20x9's I then said, your own website has a 2013 Rubicon with the wheel - he said they are the "Race Series" that are custom made and "off-road" only.

Confused??????

I did not order the max tow package on my 10A, so I'm planning to install my own hitch. Anyone done that yet and, if so, is the process any different than for a standard wrangler?

I'm looking at the Quadratech unit. http://www.quadratec.com/products/12015_1009_07.htm

Any suggestions and/or advice based on previous experience is welcomed. Thx!

I like this. Saved for my own reference and possible purchase too.
Not bad of a price and looks quite simple to install

Imo, Jeep has their wires crossed... but I'm biased toward the Cherokee nameplate.

I'm going to continue with the restoration of my 1991 Cherokee, even though I've had recent thoughts of cutting my emotional ties. It will serve as remembrance of what Jeep did to blend utility with a great daily driver.

When my XJ is complete I will post side by sides with my 10A.

.
I think if they named a unit body independent suspension cross over Wrangler, it would be end of the Jeep brand.

As for the Jku vs the old Cherokee, they are certainly different vehicles, but the Wranglers refinement has improved to the point that the market for them has radically expanded. A lot of people who never would have considered a Wrangler now buy them, and Jeep has won back some of the principle Cherokee demographic of buyers looking for a 4 door off road capable SUV.
Using a somewhat unscientific methodology I could see that the market for Wranglers had vastly expanded to non-Jeep freaks. I noticed that Jk drivers never waved. There are tons of JKs around here and I can count on one hand the number of times I've gotten a wave from a JK driver. That's not a knock on JK drivers or the JK, it's just a lot of people who have never been into Jeeps or Off roading are buying the JK. That's fine too, because Jeep certainly has not watered it down.
The new Cherokee isn't like the old one, but its still a good thing they made it. Having more fuel efficient vehicles in their fleet is a must if they want to keep making JKs and still meet the CAFE standards. Also it seems to be the only small crossover that actually tries to be off road capable.
A lot of people don't the new escape either, but unlike the old Cherokee, the old escape really wasn't an off road vehicle. It was just boxy to look like....well.. something l the Cherokee.
My only beef with all the Cherokees is actually the name itself. I wish they wouldn't name products and sports teams after Native American people's Especially mine.

Me too. I'm trading an all white 2012 Rubicon on an all anvil. Wishing I could afford to keep both.

Pretty sure it's just a glitch of the interface, and that the 10A will only be available in the colors indicated, Anvil, White, Billet and Black.

Here is what I just purchased...

http://www.shopjeepparts.com/wrangle...ruf0p861mepd60

20% off sale.

If you go with the one you hyperlinked, you will have to grind off the nuts that are welded onto the hitch to make it fit.

Yeah now that you mention it, this has crossed my mind ... wondering if using Cherokee as a moniker was inappropriate.

I guess if Jeep had named the XJ platform after the Potawatomi .. I wouldn't know how I'd feel. However growing up, I always wanted to be part of the Cherokee, Comanche or Apache tribes.

I've never seen a movie about the Potawatomi ...

hey I put my own hitch on with wire harness. I put the rugged rigde one on. somebody earlier stated they got a quadratech one, they had to grind the nuts of the hitch. The rugged ridge one does not have the nuts welded on it. you do not need the hardware supplied with the hitch. I removed the 4 factory bolts and a spacer plate they put there for those without a hitch. place hitch in place and use factory bolts. the wire hardness is very easy to do. you unbolt your drivers side rear tail light and plug harness to tail light wire .it comes with instructions. I did the whole thing in 20 minutes and the hitch is only $59.00 . (rugged ridge hitch part number 11580.51 Shopjeepparts.com
