Does anyone know if there is an alternative key fob that would work on the jk10? Love my blk/blk, but the key jabs me in my pocket. Every other car I have owned lately has a flip out key that works with the same features.

Anyone know if you can voice input destination on a 430n with the connectivity group on the 10A? I know the 730 does but not sure about the 430. Thanks.

As for the Jku vs the old Cherokee, they are certainly different vehicles, but the Wranglers refinement has improved to the point that the market for them has radically expanded. A lot of people who never would have considered a Wrangler now buy them, and Jeep has won back some of the principle Cherokee demographic of buyers looking for a 4 door off road capable SUV.
Using a somewhat unscientific methodology I could see that the market for Wranglers had vastly expanded to non-Jeep freaks. I noticed that Jk drivers never waved. There are tons of JKs around here and I can count on one hand the number of times I've gotten a wave from a JK driver. That's not a knock on JK drivers or the JK, it's just a lot of people who have never been into Jeeps or Off roading are buying the JK. That's fine too, because Jeep certainly has not watered it down.
The new Cherokee isn't like the old one, but its still a good thing they made it. Having more fuel efficient vehicles in their fleet is a must if they want to keep making JKs and still meet the CAFE standards. Also it seems to be the only small crossover that actually tries to be off road capable.
A lot of people don't the new escape either, but unlike the old Cherokee, the old escape really wasn't an off road vehicle. It was just boxy to look like....well.. something l the Cherokee.
My only beef with all the Cherokees is actually the name itself. I wish they wouldn't name products and sports teams after Native American people's Especially mine.
I come from Native American Iroquois stock and I don't mind the Indian names in culture. It keeps it alive. Political Correctness is a crock o poo. I especially liked the Renegade CJ I used to have.

There is a modded fob you can try, I saw the link on here before where it was like a switchblade style key but for the wrangler

I hear that. It's probably not so much the use of the name. It's the dichotomy between the way we romanticize Native Americans in marketing and popular culture while continuing policies that continue to marginalize them at best and oppress them at worst. It was like the fact that the primary opposition to the violence against women act stemmed from the expansion of its protections to Native American women, despite the fact that the vast majority of rapes on reservations are perpetrated by non-native Americans coming onto reservations to attack their victims. Its naming things after tribes, while the the majority of the tribe lives in 3rd world like conditions. Even the Indian casinos have been a joke, with much of the money finding its way back to places like Malaysia. That being said I don't hold anything against people who buy Jeep Cherokees or like the Cleveland Indians. Although I like Chris Rocks take on the whole thing. I can't repeat it here though. In a way political correctness is just as bad because it focuses on language rather that the underling problems.

My status changed to JS ... "Shipped to Storage".

Not sure if that is better or worse than being stuck in "I" the last few weeks.

Just looked on Jeep.com and they are allowing red, brown, dune, and commando green paint options on the 10th anniversary now. Strange. (When you build it online)

For all you wondering what exactly they did for front plates, here it is. Pretty clean job, I've seen worse. I'm glad they drilled through the plastic cover and not the metal bumper. Not sure what I'll do when I get the Zeon in there, I'll likely go underneath on the shield.

I told my salesman to make sure they didn't mount the license plate holder because I didn't want holes in the winch blank cover. Figured I would put that up in the garage or mount it on my toolbox once the 10a winch comes available. Looking at the bumper it wouldn't take much to fabricate a piece of angled steel or aluminum to fit under two of the top bolts. Of course, I'll have to figure something different after the winch gets installed. Toying with just making a mess of the plate and keeping it in the back to show the officer if they actually say anything. I drove an RX-7 around as a second car for 8 years and they never said anything about not have a front plate.

From talking to the parts guy this morning, I'm expecting it to be part of the winch kit. Not sure if anyone has mentioned an available part number yet.

Agreed, I drove around in my Viper for years without a front plate, granted the cops were likely staring at the car rather than focusing on the plate. The plastic filler piece will likely end up in my collection of take-off/spare car/truck parts I keep for some unknown reason.....
