Your Jeep must have came with something the rest of ours didn't then.

There is no mount plate behind the bumper for a winch from the factory. A mounting plate must be fabbed or an existing aftermarket plate modified to mount a winch in the 10A.

I believe you stated that you had a shop do the work. They used or fabbed a plate for the mount and then charged you for it as part of the install charge.

So I'm still waiting for my 10A to come in, but does anyone know if you can get touchup paint for the Red on the recovery points? Or what the paint code from Chrysler for it is?

somebody on the facebook 10a page stated he directly bolted in a warn zeon 10 winch right to the bumper.I don,t think this is safe,is it. he said it bolted right up to bumper without a plate or anything else. here is the posting. I asked about the winch.
John Chu 4:07pm Apr 28
interesting, I will need to take delivery of mine to see inside. thanks again christian

it is mounted to the bumper directly. On the back side there are "spacers" between bumper and winch

John Chu 12:44pm Apr 28
Im also curious on how they mounted this without a winch plate?

Christian Müller 10:37am Apr 28
I would have gone with the 12-S if it would have been available with the synthetic rope. But obviously it´s not rated as strong as the steel one. The outside measurements of the winch are the same.

Thats it so far, trying to get all replacement bolts on front bumper and have them powder coating red to match tow hooks, i think that will make it pop. I also put locking lug nut set on all rims

For those that want a simple bolt on solution Mopar will have a mount kit sooner or later. If you don't want to wait for that it can be fabbed from scratch or an existing mount plate modified to work. It depends on your fabrication skills or those of the shop you choose.

As for mounting it to the back side of the bumper. I wouldn't want to be within striking distance when that person puts an actual heavy pull on the line. That front bumper will be destroyed if it doesn't become a flying danger as well. The bumper isn't heavy enough to act as a mount plate. The winch should be connected to the frame rails using a mount plate of preferably 1/4 inch steel, and it would be nice if it tied into a doubler/re-enforcement of the bumper. Take a look at the AEV mount kit for an idea of a well engineered mount.

Most aftermarket bumpers are made of heavy enough steel to double as a winch mount while they are bolted to the frame horns already. The 10A bumper just isn't thick enough steel for this in my opinion.

I used an old ford f250 front plate holder from my trade in and bolted to jeep with out making any holes. I also want to keep the screws out of the bumper cover. when i do get a winch it will not work where i have it mounted now.

I replaced them because in New jersey wheel spacers are illegal. I replaced my tires with 34"x12.50x 17 on 17x9 wheels. I did keep my originals in the event I want to make it stock again.I could live with the wheel if you could get wider tires without spacers.

I figured the 1" spring lift on these things meant there was no "rake", lookin at this pic, I guess I was wrong... certainly appears as if that classic jk stance is still there.

Related; Has anyone been able to confirm if the shocks are different, (i.e.: more travel than reg. rubicon shocks in order to accommodate the lift? These look a little different, don't they?

With regard to the leather seats in our 10A's, how many think all seating surfaces are genuine leather and not some vinyl analogue?

I am in general hesitant to believe that many of the (non-luxury) cars/trucks that say "leather" actually mean true, came off a cow, leather and not some analogue. Feeling the backside of all the leather, I can reach that is, it's open cell foam backed. Makes me think we are dealing with a vinyl substitute.

With that said, who has conditioned the seats and what did you use? I did mine the other day with Mother's VLR, kept the stock flat/matte finish.

I bet after you put some offroad gear back there and an ice chest that it will set level.
