What's the story on use of the bug guard? Is it effective at keeping bugs off the windshield? Or does it simply protect the leading edge of the hood from rock chips? I've been looking a grill guard options for an early mod, but had not yet considered a bug guard. I'm also looking at a set of locking lug nuts, so would welcome suggestions on that front.

Found this for the westies trying to watch their shipment...

http://www.bnsf.com/customers/pdf/ma..._large_map.pdf

Also an overview map:
http://www.bnsf.com/customers/pdf/ma..._small_map.pdf

So, looking at this, I am going to assume KZT means the Twin Cities.

Been reading a lot of you waiting on 10A Rubicons so I must have gotten lucky! I've write about vehicles as a side gig and have been jonesing for a Wrangler since the first comparison test I did a few years back with a Rubicon and a Raptor. I've driven every Hawaiian island in a Wrangler as well and there just hasn't been another vehicle that makes me feel as free as a Jeep does.

That said, the lease on my 2010 Audi S4 was up and I had to make the decision to keep it or move on. I've had exclusively Audis for the last 13 years so the decision wasn't one that I took lightly as I absolutely loved the vehicle.

Since I first laid eyes on a 10A at the Detroit Auto Show in January, I've had that "must have" bug. I've been browsing the incoming inventory on Jeep's website and happened to see that a local dealer had one 'in transit' with exactly the options I wanted. Gave them a call and sure enough, it had come off the truck the afternoon before and still wasn't even on the front lot yet. Fast forward a few hours later and I was signing the papers on this beautiful Rubi with 10 miles on the odometer. No waiting, no fuss, and a pretty good sales experience. Can't wait to enjoy driving her in ways I couldn't dream of in the Audi!

the plastic piece behind the bumper has factory slots on it. the ford f250 front plate holder is like an l bracket. I made holds on the tag holder to line up with the slots on the factory plastic plate behind bumper. bolted it up. I will have to do something else when my winch gets mounted.

I am in general hesitant to believe that many of the (non-luxury) cars/trucks that say "leather" actually mean true, came off a cow, leather and not some analogue. Feeling the backside of all the leather, I can reach that is, it's open cell foam backed. Makes me think we are dealing with a vinyl substitute.

With that said, who has conditioned the seats and what did you use? I did mine the other day with Mother's VLR, kept the stock flat/matte finish.
Thanks Doctorsti,
Has anyone else taken a look at this or have an opinion? I really want someone to say this is wrong and that they are full leather. Also, this is a big deal for determining how to care for these seats. I've never purchased a Jeep with leather before, but do they really identify seating surfaces as leather when they are vinyl? I would think there would be some language indicating that vinyl was used like "leather trimmed", "partial leather" etc. Leather seats already make me nervous. The only leather seats I've ever seen hold up were in BMW's, and even they start looking a little rough after 8 years. The leather in my G37 started looking wrinkly after a year. In my opinion nothing looks worse than saggy, crinkled, ass-printed leather seats.

how did you get that plate mounted like that man?
I used the plastic slotted plate behind front bumper that slides under grill. I used a 2009 ford f250 front tag holder. the tag holder is shaped like a L. I drilled to holes on the plate holder to line -up with the jeep plastic slotted plate. i bolted together. I try to take pics of the plate holder but it is hard to do so now that it is mounted. here are pics of the slotted jeep plate I am talking about.

Seats

For the leather seats I just picked this up directly from the Meguiars guys at our event here in Carlisle this weekend. I explained that it was a new vehicle and what I was trying to accomplish and this is what they reccomended.

I am picking my 10A up in about an hour and as soon as I remove the hardtop I will be installing the leather sealer. I'll let you know how it goes.

I have not seen the red seats in person but I'm sure someone can confirm the leather on the seats in the Jeep would be seating surfaces only. Possibly the entire headrest. All leather options are rare on vehicles. When they are available, the option is at additional cost over the standard leather. I don't recall ever seeing full Leather packages on Chryslers back in the day. They may have offered it on some specialty models like the Chrysler TC or maybe a Viper but it would really surprise me if it were full leather.

I believe you stated that you had a shop do the work. They used or fabbed a plate for the mount and then charged you for it as part of the install charge.

I should have news directly from WARN this week on our 10A Specefic stuff. I will post it here, but if you would like an email directly from me just send me an email at Bill3@CarlisleEvents.com . I already have about 30 people on the list.
