As long as the roller fairlead is brand new and has no scars from wire rope it will work just fine. Oh, an added benefit…the roller fairlead fits the 10A bumper perfectly!
I wasn't discussing the type of fairlead in use here, I'm going to be using a roller myself.

We were discussing the winch "MOUNTING" plate. The Mopar/AEV part consists of a plate bolted to the frame horns between the bumper and horns. The plate acts as a doubler for the AEV bumper and is called a fairlead plate in the kit instructions. The winch plate bolts to this plate along the bottom and to the frame rails at the rear corners. This way it forms a structure bolted to the frame rails at the rear of the mount plate and a 1/4 inch steel right angle bolted to the frame horns in front. It makes for a strong well engineered winch mount.

The problem is that the fairlead plate in the AEV/Mopar kit doesn't match up with the 10A bumper. The line and fairlead hole in the two don't line up, they're several inches apart in both directions. The plate also doesn't fit the contours of the 10A bumper to act as a doubler the way it does with the AEV/Moab bumper.

The fairlead used is immaterial to the item being discussed. Hope this gives a better understanding of the issue.

I am still waiting (ordered feb 9). Email from my dealer today expect may 13 delivery (not holding my breath though).

There is at least 1 10a 4Dr anvil in Brampton, I saw it on the road last week, I would have followed it but was going the opposite direction.

Winch plate issue

Thanks for the clarification, I made an assumption (not a good thing…sorry) as I had the Hawse fairlead alignment problem with my ARB bumper. When I mounted the Warn winch into the bumper the Warn hawse fairlead did not line up with the hold in the bumper. There was ~1” of the metal bumper edge that the synthetic line would have to drag across. The bottom roller on the fairlead was centered and ~1” higher.

Towing the 10A

my 10A is supposed to be delivered next week. I'm trying to get set up to tow behind my RV. Just told that Roadmaster & BlueOx do not have baseplates for the 10A. Anyone else running into this?? Anybody have a tow install that works yet?:

To give the spare a little space I would call it 9 inches to the pin.

I would send Parker65 a PM, I believe he was planning the same and had contacted someone regarding flat towing behind a motorhome.

Parker65 and I have similar issue. We are working with Blue Ox. They may have a modification to an existing base plate but waiting to hear back from their engineering folks. Otherwise I volunteered to drive to Nebraska so they could fabricate a new one and make it available through their dealer network. Road master is waiting for volunteer as well, last I checked. I can keep you posted via pm.

Did you check with your local dealer? Or maybe try 1-877-IAMJEEP... Sometimes they give you hope, other times they simply rip your heart out of your chest and stomp on it.

Otherwise, I have no effin idea. But if you want one, I'd get urgent about trying to get one, as it most certainly won't be around much longer, even if they don't meet the 5K production number, as I believe the 2013 production is ending somewhere around June.

Good luck.

What is CDN pricing so we Americans can know? Seeing the exchange rate is almost identical it should be the same price as in USA?

It should be, but it isn't. So sad.
Everything cost more here.. Its rare for something here to be cheaper unless it's Canadian made.
Other than that, it's more

Dealer price is $46,415 plus 5% tax. MSRP is about $50,000.

hey fellas!! its been a while... i miss BS'n with you guys.

I hope all of you from the 'first round' took delivery already and are loving your 10As. I still love mine (i have a whole 200 miles on it!).

anyway, i just posted a new thread on upgrading our audio systems. Perhaps several of you have already done this, or are planning something similar. It would be great to get your input. for some reason, i think the audio in my 10A is worse than the system in my '11 sahara. booooo.

http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/the...ml#post3713259

I'll be happy to post details of exactly what im doing with the 10As audio, and how im doing it, if it interests you. Just let me know in the new thread.

Cheers!

Went to KZX overnight. Waiting for a call/email from the dealership.

Unfortunately I cannot pick it up until next Saturday, the 11th. The dealership 3.5 hours away. The good news is that picking up my Jeep will help offset "the horror, the horror" that is Mothers Day weekend.

I Just hope they don't show it off to every Tom, Dick and Harry in Virginia. I'll be damned if anyone's gonna get their greasy hands on this boys birthright!

Well I was looking on the Jeep site later in the evening and found a JKUR 10A that was exactly what I ordered to a T. So me and the fiancee drove over to check it out. Well after seeing another customer's order in person I must say, I cannot wait! Anvil looks so cool and the way it changed color depending on the sun was just awesome!

I'm patiently waiting on Blue Ox. They tried to talk me or vegasmun into coming to the factory for fitment. If you go and let them use your vehicle for making the pattern, then the base plate along with a new tow bar are free.

Niether of us can make it any time soon. The lady handling this at Blue Ox told me Tuesday she had a gentleman in Michigan in the same situation and would try to get him to come down for the fitment since he is closer than the other two of us.

Hopefully someone will make the trip soon.

Black/red 4 door on the lot here in Key West- almost had a wreck when I spotted it while driving my kids to school. Went back to check it out and I must say I am glad I spent so much time, effort and cash in the past 2 months buying and modding my Jeep, because if I hadn't that 10A would be in my driveway right now. It is gorgeous. I did not like the wheels in pics, but in person they are very cool.
