  1. Do special editions really hold value more or is that a sales pitch?
  2. Do the steel bumpers hold up as well as aftermarkets or are they just pretty?
  3. If you had it to do over again would you? Or would you wait for the 2014's?
  4. Will the 10A hold its cool factor or will Chrysler start selling the unique bumper and hood to everyone in 2014?
The parts department manager at my dealership told me they will be selling 10A bumpers and hoods... he stated its not as limited edition as the Call of Duty editions in 2012... thats a downer I supose in a year there will be 10A ripoffs on the road... I think the 2014's will be offered in Anvil and who knows the hood may come as an add-on.

Never the less I love my 10A its an awesome piece of machinery... I would have liked more if Chrysler would have treated the line with more exclusivity, such as numbering each vehicle and not allowing 10A parts to be sold to general public. IMO

Um..... Quick question they have 49 & 50 psi in the tires this thing is a little squirrelly. What lower pressure should I run in those mud tires? This jeep gets ALOT of comments and people wanting to take pictures. The salesmen were calling customers to come look at this machine. Awesome simply awesome jeep

I have read that jeep may use the slim concept as a starting point in the new 2014 wranglers. The slim has the 10A front bumper with that looks like different end caps. I owned a STI in the past and even though people bought a WRX and put less money than my stock STI, and even faster, it was still a modded WRX and NOT a STI. Does this mean that a sport Rubiclone is no better than a Rubicon? Of course it is! I understand everyone purchases vehicle for different reasons but I wanted a 10A, not for bragging rights but because shipping to Alaska for steel bumpers would cost more than just having them built on the vehicle. If I was to do it all over again knowing everything I know know, including this fiasco. I would probably had bought the 10A again... Just because it was a good solution for my needs, now if I lived near a Jeep vendor? Maybe not so much.

My take on paint blemishes and body colored fenders, the Wrangler could be considered one of the worst values if used for only on road. My OWN opinion, if your Wrangler never sees a trail, then I would never had bought a wrangler. There are too many other good choices that ride better on road than the wrangler with better fuel economy. But since I live in a place where even the on road is considered a concrete jungle, the wrangler is my best match.

Good thing is, how the wrangler can fit as DD, weekend warrior or even trail deticated. That is why we see so many people linked by the love for the wrangler!

I agree. I am already over my NIBS! I intend to hunt, fish, and generally take it "where no Jeep has gone before" (he, he) and have blast. My other Jeeps were as rugged as you can get, this one is beautiful, and more capable than any other, but is gonna get some serious off-road action. Can't wait to see you get yours Hulk. I think the forum is as anxious for you as you are.

Mine were at 47 PSI from the dealer and it was all over the road. When I got home, I dropped them all to 38 PSI and it was better but still a bit jumpy.

Probably will go down to 33 - 34 today and see how I like it.

I have been driving small / mid sized trucks my whole life, so used to vehicles not hugging the road, but that drive home in the Jeep was pretty wild, heh.

First, after a very heavy night of rain i had the dreaded passenger side front leak that has been reoccuring apparently since this body style in 2007. They had a leak guy work on it today so hopefully good to go. But, more serious, after waxing my black/red i noticed some paint imperfections. A small area on the lip just under the front area of the passenger side black hardtop. Several very small little (NIBS), i think they call them where they painted over small dust or something. Then i noticed a few more on the same side close to the edges of the doors. Now these are very small and clear coated over, and some probably wouldn't even notice them, but to me very, very poor for a new $40,000 plus vehicle. Dealer has been great. They looked at these today and said they couldn't repair without possibility of making them worse, but would paint the entire areas. I will not do that as i know any painting after the factory paint is never the same, so i will have to live with it. We had a lot of pollen around here and these are so small even after washing i didn't notice them for two weeks. I looked around the lot today and strangely enought the only vehicle (black) which i found any paint imperfections was another 10A, and it had only one i could see but it was a larger one......what the heck? I also had a blemish on the hardtop that they said they did get out, but some white speckles on the hardtop they could not. I pick it back up tomorrow. I am very picky (perhaps too much so) so this is a bummer, but i am moving on and love my 10A. It's a shame that the factory apparently doesn't respect the awesome vehicles they are building for the consumer, as somebody has a job to look for issues like this i am thinking. I am going to write a letter to the highest authority i can get an address on and let them how disappointed i am, and then just enjoy the vehicle. So, don't take that detailed looking vehicle for granted when you see it, inspect it very carefully. If i had seen these paint issues i would have declined buying the Jeep. I doubt you would have been able to even see these nibs on any of the other colors, darn black shows all, but i love its look! Please look over your 10A with a fine tooth comb....i guess this is isolated as no one else has posted paint issues other than Hammer that i know of. Positive side is now that i know it has imperfections i can beat it up off road! LOL.
FAP,
The issue on mine is the rough clear coat, but also the paint was thin in places so even with a little polishing compound on the clear coat it still shows slight dust sized speckles in the paint. The dealer corrected most of the issue this week but the dealer is going to do a bit more to further correct the speckles. The rubbed corner on the hood was painted and the good news is they matched the Anvil perfectly on the first ten times I have looked at it . :-)

The replacement hard top is on order. Executive Referral Manager is personally involved from corporate but really my dealer making it right. They are being great about it.

Interesting, the dealer just received an all Anvil 10A and it has the paint issues in the doors too. Not as bad as mine was but showed me that I should stay with my first and only 10A instead of chancing worse luck on another. I know my girl's problems and still love her with her few imperfections. However, she is working through them and we're bonding more :-) the dealer had her for three days, I almost gave her a hug when I saw her again! If it wasn't for this thread I may be a bit more concerned about this strong emotional response to her. :-)

Add an SPod, swap in the JW Speaker headlamp replacement, add gorecon tail light, turn signals and you are getting closer to 4.5k!

They can put the hood and the bumpers and even the red seats and anvil on 2014's and it still wont make it a 10th anniversary edition. Enjoy and savor your 10a, I know I am.

Right on Hulk,

IMO
I think imitation is true flattery. There is always something newer and better on the horizon. I say, do what makes you happy (cause you are paying for it). I have the utmost respect for those who defend our country and our freedom. You are the reason why I can buy something I don't need. Because I can!!! I personally would never take a thing of such beauty and mod it up or drive it off of cliffs and down pig trails with tree limbs scratching the heck out of it. Where I come from, we use old beat up hunting trucks for that and don't risk tearing up our Sunday best. I ain't throwing chain saws, extra gas and gear like that in this vehicle to clear right of way. For me, this vehicle is as handy as a pocket on a shirt. Take the doors and roof off and it's a very sexy convertible, or with 4 doors a decent people hauler, you can tow a little with it so weekend warrior projects are a go. I can drive it to the beach and have a cool looking ride that turns heads... And,,, true Jeep fans will always recognize it for what it is. I ordered this car and it is mine. Every little imperfection and quirkiness right down to my misspelled last name (thanks dealer). I can hardly wait to pick it up. IMO, it is a beautiful piece of equipment. Oh.. One last thing, why does a country boy in the south order a truck with a block heater? Because he can!!!

HEHE heck yeah...

Hi I have been doing research on replacing the 730n in my 10a. I have had a McIntosh 1000 watt amp 600 for bass and 400 mid and tweet. I had Polk speakers and Boston acoustic 2-12 in in a custom box. Mobile headphones. I might be crazy but the 730n sounds good, not great. Any suggestions?

Glad they are doing you right Hammer. I picked mine up this morning and the blemish on the hard top they got off. The very few white speckles they could not, but not worried about those. The leak guy replaced all pertinent gaskets, as well as sealing compounds, no mess, and pretty impressive. I don't think it would leak after sinking in a river now (LOL). The small paint NIBS they did not want to even mess with but offered to paint the panels, etc. I'm just going to live with them. Like you, our babies have some things that just make them "special" to us now! I already got the Lifetime Maxcare for $2K, so she's mine for life now for sure.

Tires and Wheels

hey all, long time Jeeper but my first post. Just got my Anvil 10a unlimited yesterday. Love everything but the wheels and tires (except for the little red jeeps that is)!

My 2008 JKU is a lifted monster (3" + 35" Nitto trail grapplers) and I really just want to upgrade tire size for moderate off road use and more a aggressive stance.

I was thinking BFG all terrain (my favorite tire) in the 315/70/17 variety with AEV silver savgres.

Do you guys/gals think I can pull this off without a lift given the extra height on the 10 a and the backspacing on the Savegrres? Thanks!

Creative JK'ers: in regards to the "little red jeep" painted on the 10A wheels. How can create a to-scale template of that for painting purposes?

Nice Avoid!! That is exactly what I am getting too. Now I am even more stoked. Love the contrast between the Black and Billett and I think it ties in with the bumpers, etc. very well. NICE!!!

Went to see dealer today. Wife's 10A is on train in Lexington Kentucky. Should be in Miami on the 10th and then 3 more days for the last 60 mile journey to Delray Beach, Florida. If it makes it on the 13th they actually meet the 6 to 8 week estimate.
