Other than the size issue u have I would recommend it. Blocks out lots of sun so those leather seats don't get so hot but keeps the outside feel. Also does a great job blocking a lot of wind, you roll the windows up and it's almost like having the soft top on In the front seat

WINCH UPDATE

There is a 10A Edition winch that will be available for order. Part numbers will be released this week, hopefully tomorrow. It will not be shipped for close to a month as the winch plate is coming from a different supplier. More details/price/pics as soon as I have them.

Thanks for the information Pat, good to know this is at least an item available. Now, as long as the dealer costs are not out of control...wishful thinking, eh?

Banks cold Air intake license tag relocators

I just installed a Banks cold air intake. I have the Banks exhaust on order. I also purchase rugged ridge light bar brackets to use to relocate my license tag , getting ready for winch when plate becomes available. The light bar brackets are nice but they were $19.00 a piece just to hold a tag lol. They will be worth it when my Specialty Personalized tag comes in . My tag has a lighthouse and the lettering is 1 RUBI. Beach bum here. The cold air intake makes a big acceleration difference, plus it gives you a nice rubble. It should sound great when Banks monster exhaust comes in. The miles per gallon went up for city driving by about 3 mpg. With 34" x12.50 tires I get about 21 highway 16.5 city living in south Jersey.

Wow, big acceleration difference and about a 15% mpg improvement with something as simple as a CAI?

You go ahead and believe that....

Always something. Doesn't matter how clever you think you are, how experienced you think you are buying these things, always something. Forgot the floor mats. Memorized the ache and pain list for these, did that check over, noted the slush mats where installed, which I know are an option, but didn't think about the actual floor mats themselves. Not there. Very very simple oversight. Anyone picking there's up aside from the check list, do yourself a favor and have someone with you not vested in the thing to run the check list through, so easy to get sidetracked and waylaid and one simple item gets forgotten. Dealer will mail them to me, ain't driving back 6 hours for them.

Got to say one day later after everything's calmed down this particular build is significantly heavier than the '12. I can feel it without question, while it absorbs bumps much better than the '12, can't throw it around like you could that. I take it that KM2's are heavier. Wondering if the actual new designed wheels are also? Very noticeable to me the weight difference between the two model years.

Got this major rattle/vibration going on at idle crawl, not sure yet actual seems to be the hard top itself. Otherwise there's a check list of noises listed here and assorted issues and remedies to go through.

How accurate is the tire pressure gauge on these things, front drivers side shows 310 (*10 something), all the others 313 (*13 something)?

Any tips on the seats? Not finding a comfortable position as of yet, find on the leather your pants slide and scrunch up and ... ouch Anything out there to make them less slippery? Or just work in time? Or different pants

Cutest experience today with it, blue haired granny 70 y/o + tail gating me, her little head barely over the steering wheel, in a brand new rock lobster JKU, with her handicap plaque sitting on her dash. Thought it was awesome, though her jerky braking right behind me for some distance had me move over. Good for Grannies in their Jeeps!

They do work despite the know it all's who say they don't. Check the thread under aFe pieface dyno'd it at 6 +/- rwhp, I had it on my '12 as well, you can totally feel at at all rpms (more so at the highers obviously), it smooths out the throttle response significantly throughout the range. I just removed mine exhaust and cai from my '12 which I traded in for this 10A, I am going to wait till the Diablo tuner comes alive for the '13's before I reinstall it. At the same time I am enjoying the gentleman's distinguished silence yet hidden power of this vehicle. It's dramatic enough on its own by virtue of its looks.

Has anyone removed the plastic inserts on The rear bumper? One on each corner from the back side I can see push on clips..

It only makes sense. The front is already done next to the fogs..

This is good news. Holding off on a number of other mods till I get the winch done.

I just hope it isnt priced ridiculously high.

Oh it's going to be ridiculous alright. My guess for the winch, fairlead, and mounting plate it will be $2,300 bumped to $2,700 installed.

You're probably right, but anybody paying that is just pissing money away, you can get a high quality name brand winch, fairlead, mounting plate plus installation for under $1000 at many, many shops.

Even a top of the line high dollar aftermarket winch installed will run half of what you will pay a dealer for. It boggles my mind that someone would actually pay that.

I personally will not pay it if ridiculously high. I don't mind paying another couple of bucks for the 10a version, but not gonna dump a wad on it....lets hope Jeep does not gouge us with this since we already purchased their highest priced jeep ever!

Tooshort,

Spoke to Spiderwebshade tonight. The JKU should be 68" long. They admitted that they must have shipped the wrong top - the box and id card all say 4D JKU. Regardless, they will ship a new one tomorrow with a free return label for the wrong one. Thanks again for your effort/time/photos helping me on this!!

no, it's a local dealerships that they have sold and needed the winch done before the customer would take delivery. it's the AEV COD winch mount. cut the center section out and moved it about an 1 5/8" forward to meet the bumper. a little cutting, grinding, and then welded it all back up. also welded filler plate into the bumper and recentered the fair lead opening. cut the factory plastic plate to fit around the fair lead.
