Positrak,

Get a piece of insulation like you would use on a house door or window. The kind that has the sticky tape on one side. Stick it to the wheel well liner between the liner and tub where it rattles. This will stop the noise.

Welcome back ArcherAce!!! Wish you never took a break from the site, Im sure we have tons of questions for you.

Heres one, any idea why there are different part numbers for the rear springs? Several of us have different part numbers.

TIA. Glad to have you back on the site.

Archer! Welcome back. Just want to let you know we missed your presence, and let you know I am deep in gratitude debt to you as without your input (along with Pat's), I probably would not have pulled the trigger on this awesome 10A Beast I am now driving. So THANK YOU!!! I hope life and Lord Chrysler have been treating you well!

hey guys! Thanks for the welcome back!

I'm not sure on the springs as they are installed in a part of the plant I can't get to. My only guess would be a difference between four do and two doors, and perhaps a towing package? I'll keep it in mind to ask if I run into an engineer that doesn't mind answering my questions.

Positrak,

Archerace is 100% correct. It comes in different styles and called butyl tape. Something every man needs to own.

Went for a drive today.
Spent about 4 hours out on the trails and here are some thoughts from the day.
EVIC--AWESOME
Why dont Jeeps have oil pressure, volt meter, and scaled temp gauges stock on the dash? I liked the EVIC but it seems as if it was an after thought. I didn't like having to switch back and forth between temp and oil pressure.
I'm just one of those guys that likes to monitor gauges I guess.

Climate Control- AWESOME
My last jk had this feature and I liked it then too. To bad the floor right where the gas pedal is still gets hot. I really need to get some HotHeads and thinking about dynamating the floor. Stay tuned...

Remote Start- AWESOME
Absolutely love this feature. Leave the A/C full blast prior to shutting her down helps get the leather a bit cooler.

Overall pretty much the same performance on the trail as my '12 Rubi. Although I terribly miss my standard transmission even with all its rattles and whines it was more fun to drive and only down shifted when I wanted it to. lol Although this auto is nice and I really do like it. I just prefer manual transmissions.

Anyway how about a pic!

I too wish the gauges were fully present. Oh well, it's something. I have found that the ability to manually 'slapstick' shift this automatic makes up for not having a manual, especially on the trail. And remote start has proven valuable in the summer heat, more so than expected. Nice looking Jeep!

I am planning on contacting Jeep once all 10a models are built in the US. I'm hoping they can give us a range or something we can use to maybe make our our numbering system.

The threads in the retainers are shot and the threads on the bolts are nearly flat. I just dread the runaround from the dealership.

So I'm not the only one that happened to.. I havn't been back to the dealership to ask about it. I've only taken off one bumper end so far. I like the asymetric charcter it gives it.

Did you order yours or was it on the lot when you bought it? If you ordered it and it had 400 miles on it... I would be pissed!!

No, they did a dealership trade.
They traded the 10A they had, (Anvil + Auto) for the one I wanted from another dealership (White+Manual)

At least half of mine were cross threaded too. I'm not going to go back to the dealer and make a stink about it though, since I'm not planning on putting the end caps back on again. Still, it's a shame that such a good idea was ruined at assembly.

8 Bolts total per side, 2 on each side of the square bumper steel. Top 2 and bottom 2 were not aligned well and I'll chase the threads to clean, see pictures. Front 2 and back 2 were fine no issues.
Took about 10 minutes as I went slowly and became concerned with the threads. I loosened all bolts initially then removed from bottom to top so it didn't fall off.
The endcap weighs 11 pounds on my bathroom scale all steel on the outside with a plastic insert. see pictures.

Mounting side (thumb is on plastic)

Bolts (4 good and 4 need cleaned)

I posted this back on March 31. I see my bumper was not alone, time did not help the process!

On closer review, the cross-threading/stripping is likely a result of the bolt/thread material being softer than the metal bumper ends themselves. Took mine off a couple weeks ago, and put them back on a few days later. First, it's a lot of effort with 8 bolts/side. Second, you've got to try and do some on the fly adjusting of the end piece with each bolt to try and reduce any thread damage by the bumper on both removal and reinstall. The 'speed nuts' are not likely the culprit, as they are fairly soft by comparison.

A great design in theory, but execution left me wanting better. I definitely won't be taking them off unless I have true need, or decide to forego them altogether.

Extra hole with end caps removed?

I've had mine off for a while now, but was curious about a minor thing...

After reinstalling all screws, noticed an extra hole between 2 passenger side top torx screws...drivers side doesn't have this... Anyone else have same and know why? Or do I need to post a pic?

Noticed the same thing, but unsure of the reason. I originally thought the hole may have been drilled in error.

Well talked to the dealer today and they expect it to be delivered on Friday now. I am keeping my fingers crossed!

It goes straight into the speed shop and has a 4.5 AEV RS lift, Teraflex HD Hinge, 35" KM2s, and AEV Wheels installed. I will post some pics when it is finally sitting in my driveway.

Really looking forward to this new Jeep!
