First thing I noticed is from the billet color I was looking at... the silver had red switches for the sway bar disconnect, the anvil has black, both 10a models. Is this normal or should the anvil have the red as well?
The black interiors have red switches. ...

So, I bought a 2013 10A Unlimited this last Saturday. I had been looking at them for a few months and was trying to wait on paying off my wife's car, but they couldn't keep the 10A's on the lot and I was worried that I wouldn't get what I wanted, so...

I went to my local dealership after seeing that they had a Black/Red "in transit" configured the way I wanted (loaded - although it didn't have the 'auto AC'). The salesperson, who I'd spoken to previously, looked it up and said it was still enroute, but we began to work on price. Sticker of 44,900 and I offered $42k. We settled at $42.5k when they told me that it was spoken for by another dealership and that if I would match that price that it was mine. It's mine!

I have to say that I'm in love! My wife, not so much yet, but I think it will grow on her. My first Jeep and I don't think I will ever get rid of this one!

I'm not sure just yet. I definitely want a 2.5" lift and wheels/tires (35"). I've bookmarked a ton of stuff. I'll probably wait on the tires to wear out to do all that.

I bought a powered hardtop lift kit, top&door rack, and a cargo tonneau from the dealer. It turned out that he'd bought a JKU for his wife and got rid of it, so I got all that for $550.

I will probably get the black Gorilla spline drive lugs (Link) and a locking gas lid for the time being. I'm sure my wife already feels like I've spent enough for the time being.

They have a 4dr 10A by where I live. It's MSRP is 45.5k and they have it listed on their website for 39.5k. I just bought a 2dr 10A from them.

Bought a 4 door Anvil 10A last week and at the time did not know about the winch mounting issue. No one at the dealership knew how to get it mounted so on the "we owe" form I asked for whatever mounting hardware is needed to mount a winch with instructions LOL I have a WARN CTI that I pulled off my 2012 jeep so sounds like I got the right one.
SO far I installed my Tuffy deck in the trunk and my dirty dog sun screen. I have some rigid lights, an SPOD, Tuffy CCW drawer and various other things I need to get installed...
I went to start the install for the SPOD and noticed that the firewall is different then my former jeeps. I had 2X 2012 4 door rubicons and for whatever reason the 2013 is different... For those of you who installed the SPOD where did you run the wire through?

I'm going for it, primarily because I have a hunch that this will end up being a rare accessory to see fitted. A lot of folks are losing (or have already lost) patience and are electing to go with more cost-effective alternatives. Since I'm planning on keeping her for a good many years in bone stock condition this is really the only setup that interests me. We all heard about this winch because we're on this thread, but not all 10A owners are on here and probably aren't aware of its existence.

After searching the parts dept sections of a few local dealer websites I couldn't get a hit on the part numbers.

Hendrick in Cary NC (Genuine Mopar Parts Online at Wholesale - HendrickMoparParts) has the parts listed.

The MSRP for both parts match the PDF and they discount to $1856.80 for the winch and $371.80 for the mounting kit. The only killer is shipping - about $250 from Raleigh to Atlanta. Might as well just call up the local dealer in the morning when they open and buy local since the sales tax will be about the same (and they'll be the ones to install it anyhow).

Their prices are insane, but if OEM is your way to go, more power to you. I just cannot see paying those prices when I can get a new bumper, winch and plate for less. jeep screwed this up by not having it at the time of sale and not having it cost too much. Just my .02

10a tire/lift question: I see various conflicting comments across threads but does anyone know if our 10a's truly are lifted a half inch versus the standard rubicon, or is it simply that the km2's are less in diameter "providing and xtra half inch of room"? Thanks!

definitely lifted in comparison to a Sahara or Rubicon and the Sahara has larger diameter tires then the 10A.
Not a great picture I give you that but it shows pretty clear the height difference between a Sahara with the stock 32.1 diameter tires vs my 10A with with it's 31.8" if they are lucky diameter tires.

I had the same issue with the SPOD - there's a hole next to the master cylinder on the drivers side - you have to remove a plug to gain access - pretty easy once you find it - I'll see if I can get a shot of it for you or find a post

I asked a guy to measure his stock Rubicon. He had already added bigger tires so it was 1/4 inch higher than stock. He got 23.5 inches from ground to center of lower door gap. My 10 A measured 24 inches with the stock KM2"s. It certainly looks and feels higher though, especially to my short wife. She's begging me not to lift it any higher! Already got her a fold-up stool to get in it.

Interesting thx. So the 10a is definitely a bit higher than stock.

Thanks for the picture - I think we've also proven the 10A doesn't have the typical Jeep rake - lower in the front - correct?

Yep - I normally agree with you - I try to keep things at least looking OEM when I can - but in this case - I was tired of waiting, and the costs are simply too high - I was able to pick up the Maximus-3 kit and everything looks great on it - and Joe from Maximus has been great at helping me through the install - something I'm not expecting from local dealerships...

To each his own however - hopefully the kit comes out soon and it works great for everyone that picks it up....

New Show Within a Show Launches in 2013
In 1941 the first Willys rolled off the assembly line and since then, generations have enjoyed a very special lifestyle with an American made machine known as the Jeep. The Jeep culture has evolved over time, just like the machine itself. One thing that remains true to form, however; is the passion and love of the machine by those within the Jeep crew. Combine that love for a singular brand and the overall excitement of the Carlisle Truck Nationals, and the new Jeeps at Carlisle weekend is guaranteed to showcase true passion and fun.

Jeeps at Carlisle will include a special showfield section just for Jeeps and allow enthusiasts to go off road if they so desire as part of a special off road course on the grounds. Jeeps at Carlisle also takes place during the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals in July.

Register today and don't miss out!
