Bob, please let us know how your install goes. I plan on ordering a set but the difference between the 6045 and 6145s remains to escape me. Thought 6145 had the brackets required for a JK install?

Ok I will update when I get the 6045's. The 6145's have brackets but do not work on 10A bumpers without some modification.

Looks like the 6145's are more powerful (1080 lumens vs 750) - has anyone tried the 6145's yet? I've ordered the 6145's and would like to use them - even if I have to fab a plate for them... if they just don't fit I'll swap them for the 6045's

Rodex - thanks for posting those pictures

Had a great time during the 101 off-roading class at Rausch Creek this Friday 8/30 with FAP and others. Great to meet FAP and talk about Jeeps (when my kids gave me a moment lol) Gave the new skids a pretty good workout - Kyle took us to some pretty challenging trails this time - the mud had me worried at a few points, but the Jeeps kept making it through the obstacles.

If anyone has a chance to take a class with Kyle - I highly recommend it - now waiting for our 10A trip to Rausch for the 201 course on 9/20.

Going to post a couple of POV videos from my new Sony Action cam on the 10A facebook page when I get some time to edit them...

Yep, we had a blast and it was great meeting and wheeling with these guys and their families. I had some undercarriage hits also, mostly skids. The only outside cosmetic damage I found was a small gouge in my driver side rear wheel which I now proudly call "Rausch Battle Damage". Kyle and this park are amazing, and our 10A's are very capable machines. We did water, mud, hills, and met rocks (lots of rocks, big rocks, little rocks, submerged rocks, hidden rocks, nice rocks, and not so nice rocks!!! LOL!!!. I was real impressed with my four door, and glad I got the 4.10's. Both the two doors in the group were awesome looking and in capability. I learned so much in this course, and this is my fifth Jeep. The Hill Descent feature with the automatic is nothing short of incredible, and Kyle shows you how to use it, as well as traction control dynamics. This trip was actually a birthday gift to myself and I couldn't have had a better time celebrating it! (60!). Looking forward to next time (the flock of Wild Turkey's was cool too). Thanks mucho for setting this up Chiringuito.

Rausch Creek is an Off Road Park in Tremont, Pa. If you google the Rausch 101 or 201 classes you will get to watch all kinds of video's. Really a beautiful place with about any kind of terrain you want to run. The staff are very friendly, and Kyle is a great instructor in all aspects of off-roading.

A good comparison of what a JKUR10A Billet looks like next to a $100K BMW M5 ...

Only if that USC grad knew what he was missing.

We bought a 2012 last year for my wife's DD and liked it so much I picked up one for me over the weekend:

So far I have only installed the euro hood lock and Truck-Lite headlights- Artec front axle armor kit next maybe.

This is awesome... I rarely use "wifey" myself unless she's there and I know my audience... In this case, wife buys 10a for you...(like mine did for me too... We both work but it was her "bonus" for me)... I proudly thank my wifey as well! Congats on your new 10A- Happy Birthday & Enjoy the ride!

Lift question to the veterans out there...The 10a is a pretty capable vehicle stock and this is my first jeep...so does a 3.5 lift and 35s make a real night & day improvement to what the jeep can do? Thx!

All a lift is going to do is give you tire and body clearance, maybe some axle flex. Larger tires mean better approach and departure angles as well as axle clearance and additional body clearance. It won't improve performance per se'. Your jeep will be able to get into larger features and it will make smaller features unchallenging.

It all depends on the trails you run and your experience level. I highly suggest wheeling it stock if you are new, and learning the basics. Plus its way easier to find small fun obstacles versus some gnarly trail. They just aren't that common in many areas of the country.

Overall the look is more pleasing in a lifted jeep, which is also a factor for many. But I have wheeled the snot out of my 10a since the week I got it and have not found anyplace I couldn't pick a line to get through. It might not be the biggest line, but anyone who wheels will tell you that a line that gets you through safely with no damage is a damn good line. These jeeps perform amazingly out of the box.

Here is a quick video of my wife wheeling our 10a up some rock so you can see what a new wheeler in a stock Rubicon is capable of. Fully stock with street driving tire pressure around 35psi. She wouldn't have needed the lockers if we had aired down but I wanted her to feel how it performs with different air pressures (we aired down shortly after this and she was amazed at how much better it wheeled)
