Hey Rodex, I like mine also, and also don't mind the offset. What exactly did you plug the holes with? Also, there is plating behind my holes openings, can't put anything through them.

Guys, I bought a Mopar hood lock today (ordered it), and looked at the installation instructions online and thought i'd do a pre-install check. Guess what, I can't take the grill off with the 10A winch installed. I think I can move the top toward the front enough to get the thing riveted, but it definitely hits the winch in the center area before the grill clips are completely out.......what next.......has anyone installed bolts/nuts instead of rivets on one of these locks???

Also Rodex, great looking Jeep. Can the front bumper guard be installed without removing the winch/bumper? Did you install a sPOD with your lights? I'm getting ready to install a sPOD soon and wanted the hood lock to help protect my investment!

FAP, the plugs are the same ones that hold the plastic cover under the fenders and yes you will have to drill just a little, I can't recall what size bit was used but you will know when you see the plug in person.

No problem installing bumper guard after winch installed that's how mine was done.

I would like to suggest to all with stock setup, you all need to plug the holes in the bumper just because it gives a cleaner look. Those holes drove me crazy.

Both stock and the maximus setup look great and I am sure work great.
What light are you running on the bumper light bar?

My dealer is offering me the Stage 3 (Fox Shocks) kit for $2,160, and $700 for the install, less than 3K out the door. Pretty good deal? Also, has anyone done this lift and kept the stock wheels and tires? If so would love to see a picture. I want to run the tires down some before going to 35's.

The MOPAR hood lock rivets into the hood under the release latch, right behind the grill. It gets coded to your vehicle key so one key will open everything.

The keyed locks you see on the hood latches on the sides are aftermarket / third party options.

I installed the Mopar lock yesterday. It is very sturdy but pricey, even with 10% off. It does hold the hood down tight, and it is nice that your Jeep key codes to it. I think I would have been happy with either of these locks, but went ahead and gave my dealer my business.

Well, I am finally going to order a pair of D2's to get me started in lighting. I'm also looking for the best deal I can find on a sPOD, and suggestions? On the D2 covers I have seen black and they look nice, anyone have the smoked covers? impression?

rodrex, were the covers expensive on the lights and due you like them? Thanks . Did you buy them from ridged?

Edit, do they make a lot of noise on the road?

ACE Tire Carrier

Anyone know if the ACE tire carrier fits in the hole on the 10A rear bumper?

I did buy them from Rigid. They look better in person than the pic. I do wish they had one or two pice for the 50". Not the 5 pice that I had to get. No noise from the covers .
Had to play a little with the 50" bar to get rid of the wind noise .

When you say play a little to get rid of the wind noise, what did you do?

[QUOTE="SeayJ7;5452217"] When you say play a little to get rid of the wind noise, what did you do?[/QUOTE

I was getting a lot of noise from the fins on the back of the 50". Called Rigid and they sent me three rubber brace that fit between the fins, I think the called it "noise diffuser". Once installed had to test run a few times @ different speed and sliding these Diffusers to a spot that eventually quieted. Took a few hours!

My kit is still not here but that is a good price. 2860 is really only about 400 bucks over the price and per my contact the kit costs them 2040. I'm looking forward to the install even though I know its going to take me all weekend soon.

Doc, I wish I lived closer and you would have an assistant on that install! I am going to start with lights. I ordered two Rigid (floods, dually) today for my pillar (Poison Spyder), and then will do the 50" up top for the spots. I wanted to have a little subdued light off the pillar, and it should blend well with the spot/flood up top later, and a spot 20" on the hood. I also ordered a SPOD, which should be here in a few days. rodrex, that Jeep of yours is a masterpiece! We are talking see into outer space with those lights!

For posterity in the 10A thread as I'm not sure there was another pic of a stock 10A JKU posted with 35's and no lift.

35x12.5R17 Toyo ATII's and Rugged Ridge Rims.

I'm really liking the Toyo's, and they are E rated. I'm thinking I will go for either the AEV Pintler's or Saverge wheels and look forward to seeing your set-up for sure, but those Rugged Ridge's are looking darn good!
