Rear Bumper lights

I noticed there seems to be a spot sculpted into our rear bumpers for some cool off road rear lighting, and I think I remember it even mentioned in the "brochure".

Has Anyone attempted this or heard if Mopar has come up with a product for us?

Mine made the noise from day one. It starts when you accelerate from around 2500 RPM's in my case and gets more pronounced, and more like an actual rattle as you reach the shift point around 3500 ~ 4000 rpms. At the peak the actual rattle part of the sound seems to emanate from the middle-passenger side of the dash and down into the shifter area. In addition to the rattle, it actually changes the whole sound of the engine, but unless you know what its supposed to sound like you don't notice. Since I had little experience with JK's, it really just colored my initial impressions. When I first drove the Jeep, to me the engine sounded almost like an old diesel when accelerating, minus the turbo whine. It was almost like an old tractor. Definitely not like my old 4.0. It sounded like a "sick" engine.

Noises aside, I'm actually somewhat disappointed in the pentastar compared to the 4.0 liter in terms of overall torque-y-ness especially at low RPM's. The pentastar is definitely better on gas and pulls better on the interstate in the mountains, but I sort of miss the 4.0. Of course it was also pushing a smaller 2 door. Of the line and off-road, I much prefer the 4.0

As the first weeks past I decided the noise was not a natural part of the engine and started researching it. I found this thread.

2012 Wrangler Noise/Vibration DIY Fix Found

I applied the fix and voila, the whole tonality of the engine changed. It actually sounded like a Jeep!! When I took it in for service they manipulated the AC lines on the engine compartment side and the sound mostly went away without the need for the rubber wedge fix. I still hear some remnants of it, so I may stick something back in there, but overall its far better than it was.

That and I have a black Rubicon with Red Accents, so that cover was waaaaaaaaay better than the one the dealer through on to advertise their name (cheap material and the dealership was sold a few weeks later to another company).
My worry was salt / moisture build up and damage to wheel. Looks great though.

Hey Wolf, I had a leak issue on the passenger side front pillar area, but after some good effort from the dealer, etc., they got it fixed, not a drop in several months now (4-dr hardtop), but haven't had any functional issues at 6,400 on the ticker, knock on wood!

Well guys and girls, I got the SPOD, Uniden CB, Rigid Pillars, and as of today a Rigid 20" light bar on the hood which is ABSOLUTELY awesome against my black/red four door hardtop. Having the SPOD in made install so easy. BIG question, does anyone have any suggestions on how to protect these assets, especially the exterior accessories? I know certain good alarm systems, but want to avoid nuisance alarms...I have a very strong hood lock now, a very strong steering wheel lock now, but got to find a way to protect the other stuff on the exterior or they are going to eventually take a walk!

I installed the Banks Stinger system today. Install very easy and went well. Haven't road tested it yet.

So I don't have a 10a but I bought some bumpers from CPT_D and in the process of putting the wings on I stripped some of the bolts, stupid me. I see that this is a problem for some of you here. So to try to see if I can find a way to fix it, I went up to my local true value and look what I found! They worked out perfectly. I hope those of you with this problem can find these and fix your problems too.

Is there an item number, or UPC anywhere on the bag?

The nice folks at Susquehanna made me a single wiring harness for headlights and fogs that included heavy gauge wire and relays that fit to the OEM plugs. It all cleaned up and tucked away really nice without a SPOD.

I have been using the Rustoleum 2x Ultracover Paint + Primer in gloss apple red. I tested 15 paints from Home Depot and Lowes and this was the off-the-shelf color that I thought matched the best (to me, in the daylight).

Agreed. I weighed buying a Sahara or Rubicon and adding all the bumpers and AEV hood, rails, etc and in the end I bought a Rubi 10A because it came with all of that (plus the extra lift ). The math worked out to be about the same, and the Rubi already had the gear ratios and axles I wanted.

Haven't done this - being relatively new owner and counting the times I wheeled still on one hand.....but, say you want to go wheeling and take the end caps off that weekend. The feedback I've seen and received first hand is you're likely going to have messed up bolt or bumper threads once you take it off and try to put the end caps back on. Deemed as acceptable QC issues, etc.

Net-net of the feedback is it's likely a 50/50 chance you're going to be able to easily put them back on (at least all the bolts on both ends). Say your wife wants to use it as her Mall Crawler M-F while you commute into work in the city using your Hybrid.....so, naturally she wants the end caps on because it "just wouldn't look right" with the "Take your City Pick" Housewives. Or, a more logical "what happens if either of us hit a deer" (to be fair, there's a lot of deer around here at Dusk) - "wouldn't you want that sort of protection on your front bumper"?

Feedback I've seen on boards is similar to: "leave them off" and "it looks really cool that way" or, "yep, I installed them back on - buuuuuuut not all the bolts, only those that would fit on each end". There was one who indicated they fought and lost the argument with their dealer about what "bumper to bumper" really means......get the pic/idea of where I'm going with this question? Has anyone who hasn't responded previously figured out whether there's an alternate end cap viable/workable solution - ie. a specific bolt or Lowes, Home Depot type work around that would make me (and I'm sure a lot of other 10A owners) less apprehensive of being able to regularly taking the front end caps off knowing it's problem to put them back on?

Just curious....I'd love to be able to do it, I just am nervous about this being a one way front bumper trip end caps or no end caps vs. being able to regularly use both.

Thanks in advance to anyone who posts back if they got something working and going they could share!
I have no problems taking on and off, I bought a Torx head for my cordless drill, bolts come off and go back on really quick. I've done it about 6 times to see any advantage. I am however not a sport rock crawler, my Rubi is for southeast lowland trails and wetlands, removing the wings didn't make sense as it keeps me off the trees so now they remain.

BTW - You may not know this, but each of those wings cost $750 at the dealer, so if you aren't going to use them, sell them......

It was a buy as many as you need and just write down the price type of thing so I don't have the number. I'll try to swing by tomorrow and get the number.

Oh, its an open bin/draw thing. I thought it was one of those small clear plastic bags of parts, of which, there could be hundreds hanging on the wall.
