Hey guys,
Thought that I would start this thread in anticipation of the 2013 Anniversary Rubicon.
Im excited to see what Jeep has come up with to make this Rubicon "limited".
Hopefully its more than just some AEV bolt ons like the COD was.
Please feel free to post what you believe it might look like or any info you may have on it.
Hopefully Pat will post some info this month on this thread about the new Rubi.
If this Rubi is as great as I hope, Ill be trading my fully moded 2012 JKUR in on one.
Well... I ordered my Unlimited 10a Billet/Red on Jan 30th. Got my VON right away, but it's still not in the Vehicle Order Tracking System. As of last night the dealer said it's status is now BG - "passed edit - unable to schedule". I expect it'll sit there for a bit.
I can't imagine someone posing as a Jeep employee and spreading false information. Potentially causing some to change orders based on hunches cloaked as the truth. No one but a real scumbag would do that. So I'm sure he does work for Jeep, has access to view the interior, exterior, and is allowed to drive the new Jeeps around the factory..... So someone with that kind of leverage should be able to snap a photo...right?....unless they don't work for Jeep...but he does...right?
Hi I went to dealer to order the 10a and the system that shows the 10a and options so dealer can order are gone. Then the whole system was down. So I could not order at this time.
It was working on Monday. But she did talk to the rep and ANVIL is gray towards the darker side. No blue, greens.
I am going with black, red seats w/black soft top. Tilt game over.

well bad news. There is only 1 anvil 10a here. it's in the paint stall and I won't be able to get it outside before the Sun Goes Down. I'll try again tomorrow.
as far as working here yes, I do work here. I have for the last 29 years with the exception of 6 years spent at Jefferson North assembly working on the Grand Cherokee.
the reason I will not take pictures is it is against company policy. If I see something interesting in the plant I won't tell you about it weeks in advance, I'll tell you about it is it is shipping out the door. as much as I'd like to help out fellow Jeep enthusiasts, I'm not going to risk my job for it.
hell, I can spit and hit a new KL Liberty but other than to say its pretty damn nice I won't describe and I sure as won't take a picture off it
pretty sure Archer could manage a picture of Anvil in production if he really worked there... seems he finds time to pull his phone out when on the line - considering the many comments he has made about what sits in front of him.
Would you risk your job and livelyhood to allow a bunch of people you don't know to see classified info? How about we all chill with the asking him to take a picture, he's provided literally light years more info then any other person on this thread besides Pat and appreciative for what he has shared.
Anyone who's ordering a 10A on here intend to tow it behind a motorhome or flat tow in general?
If so if your near Pender,NE Blue Ox will do the base plate on the first one free to use it for a pattern usually. I think there are enough dimensional differences in this bumper and the stock JK unit to require a different base plate set up.
Hopefully someone close is doing it, I hate to drive from Atlanta to there for a set-up.
I ordered my 10a and gave a deposit on January 17th. My VON sheet says order was placed on January 30th... Anyone know why this is? Am I still good for the 1st wave?
I have a von but the jeep site still doesnt show anything. I called today. they told me my von number and said it takes weeks before some are placed into system. It depends on options , colors 2 door or 4 door. I order a 2 door anvil automatic with black leather seats. dual tops ,430 radio auto start. I love a stick shift but love auto start so had to go with a automatic with 41o gears standard on stick option on auto. Good luck on your order. I can't wait . In northeast here. They told me if you have a von you will get a jeep. they said not to worry that they will run out of 10a because if you have a von it will be built for you
The dealer I ordered through said they had nothing regarding the winch in the computer.. only thing she and her sales manager said was to get it from Mopar after it arrived and he quoted me at 3500ish.. which I kinda laughed because if its the 9.5cti-s like this thread has pushed it to be, they aren't more then 1500$.
hold on now.. i have read the entire thread - and have spent time in here since i ordered my 10a on 1/22. I dont think there is anything wrong with asking for some validation of someone that is claiming to provide inside information that is influencing buying decisions for people on this site. I mean no harm whatsoever. I like reading Archers posts more than anyone elses in this forum, but you never know who is really posting stuff. I believe Archer is a jeep employee, but for all we knew, he could have been a bored 15 year old kid in Bakersfield. You gotta be careful about what you read online, thats all im saying.
can someone explain what the major differences are between the two nav radios? I got the cheaper one but now I'm thinking I should have went with the more expensive one.
nobody gives a F if i actually ordered a 10A, but A LOT of people in this forum would care if Archer didnt actually work at Jeep. its pretty simple, i dont know why anyone is getting bent out of shape about it. I bet some of you feel a little better after seeing his badge.
Oh...sorry...thought you might have just been a bored 15-year-old kid from Bakersfield who figured he'd come onto the forum and write offensive posts for kicks and giggles. If you would have taken a few moments to view some other threads (or even look at the amount of time Archer has been a valued member of this forum), you would have realized that no one but you was feeling the need to question anyone's credentials. You think your salesman is going to give you better information?
If you were truly serious in that initial post, you owe him an apology. I thought that post was facetious. If it was not, all I can say is Sheesh.
By the way (back towards the topic), anyone know anything about the rear bumper tire carrier mount? The quote below is from Truck Trend, but I haven't seen it anywhere else and don't know if any other tire carrier will work.
The rear bumper is also full steel with red tow hooks and plastic end caps, and is designed to accept an aftermarket American Expedition Vehicles tire carrier that can hold rubber up to 40 inches in diameter. It also has mounts for accessories such as a spare fuel tank, Hi-Lift jack, Pull-Pal, large reverse lamp, shovel, and even a CB antenna.
Ok, that was just for fun. I don't want to get anyone in trouble for taking photos at work. I'm just looking forward to getting my Anvil 10A....whatever color it turns out to be. Thanks to everyone for the information.
Also from that Truck Trend article - for you Anvil orders out there - a nice quote about color...
Unique paint colors include Billet Silver, a bright White, and Anvil, which was actually based on the color of a trash can in the Jeep design shop. While its genesis may sound unsophisticated, Anvil became a quick favorite of drivers on the trip because it looks great in every light and keeps looking good even when the truck gets dirty.
