Most people wouldn't know the difference between a two door Sport and an Unlimited Sahara. I am not trying to be a smart-ass here, but do you really expect them to have any appreciation for the JKR10A? To most people it's just, "Hey, look at the round headlights and big tires!"

Pretty crazy! I went by my dealer today, yes on Sunday they are open, just to see if any new updates and he said the 10A has gotten more interest from "us" than any previous "special" edition!

You know, I had a thread up posing the question of whether I should hold onto the JKR10A, or just get a JKR and buy an AEV 3.5 inch RS suspension kit along with it. The big driver of the consideration was cost because the JKR10A is almost exactly $2,000 more expensive than the JKR (when controlling for options parity). My thought was that why get a JKR10A when i could get a JKR + AEV gear for roughly the same money. Well, after careful consideration I decided to go with the JKR10A for a few reasons:

1) I really like the look of the JKR10A. Plain and simple, it is what I am thinking a Jeep should look like right out of the box.

2) It would cost darn near $3000 in parts alone to get standard JKR to get the same type and quality exterior mods., which are organic on the 10A. Conversely, it would only cost roughly $2,000 to get the AEV suspension.

3) Since the JKR10A is my first Jeep, I want to run around in it for a while before I decide on what kind of suspension I really want to go with. Hell, I might not even like having a Jeep (I REALLY don't see that happening, eh, one never knows...). It would be better to have the Jeep with potentially better residual value.

2003 was the first rubicon

In 2003 the first edition of the rubicon came out. I bought one in december 12th 2003 for $31,000.00 I just placed a order for the 10a. Just my 2 cents for those who were trying to find out what year they came out. I am a new member and dont want to p off anyone, like i said just my 2 cents peace out.

How would a 2013 offer a 10 year anniversary? Bean counters are bastards, but they can't bend time last time I checked.

Yes Sir. They even had a concept Wrangler Rubicon back in 1989, which of course became the Xenon Body Kit Renegade.

I do personally like the rollbar, kinda looks appropriate if you never had a top.

Black Seats

Hi I wanted black seats and found out if anyone ordered in 01/13 had that option.

When I ordered mine on last Friday. On the configuration sheet preview.
Sales code: -XR Black/Red I was informed that black is no longer available.
I will have red leather seats and I have light brown on my 2013 Rubicon. I am over it just having the 10a in Anvil. I will be fine. I heard that red seat were a deal breaker for some. I suggest go test drive any 2013 Ruicon its incredible. Mine had 8 miles on it and went for a spin and told the dealer I was sold 12/17/12.

order my 10a on 1/19/2013

I have a von but the jeep site still doesnt show anything. I called today. they told me my von number and said it takes weeks before some are placed into system. It depends on options , colors 2 door or 4 door. I order a 2 door anvil automatic with black leather seats. dual tops ,430 radio auto start. I love a stick shift but love auto start so had to go with a automatic with 41o gears standard on stick option on auto. Good luck on your order. I can't wait . In northeast here. They told me if you have a von you will get a jeep. they said not to worry that they will run out of 10a because if you have a von it will be built for you

Took a chance and ordered the JK 10AR in Anvil with the red seats on 2/6 without first seeing it and was wondering if I should have gone with black seats after ordering. Just returned from the Chicago Auto Show and now am convinced I made the right choice for myself. The red (more of a darker maroon and red mix) against the Anvil paint, awesome. Trading in my JK Arctic which has been a blast to own. All I need now is my VIN so I can track her being made.

That's a great picture if the 10A! Looks like the color we are being told it is. Looks like the lights in LA and Detroit were really messing with the color!

Congrats on the ordering! What options like hard/soft top or painted fenders and top did you get?

Had colored fenders and top on my Arctic and was bummed on how easy the clear coat cracked on the fenders. So went with black top & fenders this time. That hood is pretty sweet too.

730N radio/nav
power and convenience groups
dual tops
automatic
anvil w/ red seats (same as the picture)

The winch is a dealer installed option so I'm holding off on that and will do it myself later.

Don't know if it's worth anything, but here's a shot of the plate on top of the winch ...

Ugh! Warn/Jeep are killing me with this Anniv. winch. That part number refers to a hub kit or Warn's... they're certainly keeping this one pretty tight... If it's the 9.5 that everyone is speculating, great! I just don't want them slapping a Rubi sticker on and entry winch just so people buy it as part of this package....

(edit: BUT, the 9500lb rating lends credence to the 9.5cti everyone feels will be the candidate..)

Still trying to get Jeep to add red stitching to the black seats, Jeep you did it in the Altitude in case you forgot. Just asking for a similar setup for the 10A's Black seats with the rubicon Stitched in Red too. Would have gone for the red seats, but wife wanted black so it was a fair trade for her agreement on a 9.5 warn winch and the new 10A for me! :-)

I know you're still hopeful, but I talked to two separate reps that said the black leather with red stitching was in fact planned, but they pulled the idea at the last minute for some reason and went all black. Red stitching just isn't going to happen Archer also confirmed this with all the 10A's that went down the line already with black leather seats.

I changed my order to the black/red interior. The seats weren't the main thing that made me switch, what made me switch was the fact that with the black leather seats, it deletes ALL the red stitching from the interior (Not just from the seats). So the steering wheel, center console and door panels will all have black stitching when you go with black leather seats. The red stitching accents ONLY come with the black/red interior.

I'm still hoping that they number these. Seems like a pretty cool, and almost free, way to throw the die hards a bone. They don't even have to say 126/5000 or 126/3500, just #126 if they don't have a final count of what they plan to produce at time of first production. Of course the first ten that Archer said were already run thru won't have numbers....but that makes them more rare.....I guess.
Makes the vanity license plates a breeze...just the number of your 10A.

Plus red stitching with the black seats would be a bonus.

Guess we lost the "what mods are planned for your 10A?" Thread so I am just adding here that I'm afraid I will have to swap the tires out immediately and while I was going to go with duratracs but after reading more about the Cooper ST Maxx they seem perfect for my needs!!! Anyone else looking at cooper ST Maxx?

These images seem to show Anvil as more gray than blue. I've know about them for a few weeks now but really didn't want to post someone's images. These belong to robjones2000 on Flickr. Thanks Rob for taking the photos!

These pics on anvil look completely different from the other pictures....such a headache. I'm glad I went white.
