My picts were shot with a Canon SX40HS, no color correction applied. They may be a little on the warm side. The color is not a glossy primer grey per se but grey with a hint of blue.

The press photo on Jeep's website shows more blue than grey:

Makes the vanity license plates a breeze...just the number of your 10A.

Plus red stitching with the black seats would be a bonus.
That would be awesome if they numbered them!

Nah, there is nothing headache-like about Anvil at all. It has been shown that Anvil is a very neutral shade of grey, which has peculiar property of being very good at reflecting ambient colors. In that sense, it is one color, and many colors at once. I think that's really cool!

Anvil is the stealth Jeep. You park next to a Billet Jeep and it looks Billet.....etc.

I am so excited to get my first Jeep - 10A, 2 door, Anvil + red, 4.10, auto, auto air, black hardtop. I ordered Jan 19 and just checked in with Chrysler - got this note today, which is consistent with others who've ordered Anvil:
------
Dear Anne-Marie:

Congratulations on the order of your 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 10th
Anniversary Edition!

The order for your 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition
has been accepted into the system, however, is not yet scheduled for
production and a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) has not yet been
assigned. Please be advised, according to our preliminary provided
resources, the 2013 Jeep Wrangler/Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 10th
Anniversary Editions, are tentatively scheduled to begin production in
March 2013.

We can understand and appreciate your eagerness for the production
progress of your 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition and
your desire to tour the plant. With that being said, we regret to advise
that auto plant tours are not offered at any of our manufacturing
facilities.

When the order for your 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary
Edition was placed, your dealership would have entered your email
address and your first name and last name for access to our VOTS. You
will receive an email through the system, once your vehicle has been
sequenced for production and assigned a VIN. At that time, you will be
able to utilize our VOTS for a status regarding the production progress.

Our best recommendation would be for you to keep in contact with your
selling Jeep dealership as they are the best resource for an estimate
regarding the delivery date of your 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 10th
Anniversary Edition or visit our VOTS periodically, once you have the
VIN at:

http://www.jeep.com/vots

Okay, maybe the factory tour request was a stretch, but if you don't ask, you don't get ....... :-)

OK, I'll let go of the red stitching for the number sequence included! Still considering switching to red seats even if I lose the winch!

Start production also top of wish list! Why not just start now and accelerate the parts delivery? Actually know the reasons, but wish they would get started and let me watch mine come off the line!!

Pat, any other limited editions on the horizon? Golden Eagle Edition in Rugged Brown and white? That was my second choice if offered and I missed my 10A Rubi.

Those are about the only full-vehicle photos of Anvil I've seen in this thread that don't have a painfully obvious overall color cast...so I have to assume that they are a fairly accurate depiction of Anvil...finally. Nice color.

So, out of curiosity, does anybody know why the tachometer of our 10A is now in the scale 10, 20, 30 (rpm x 100) instead of x 1000 like most other vehicles? Doesn't seem very logical to me. But then again, it could be one more thing that the auto review magazines overlooked in their reviews : "and the new 10A has an impressive redline of seventy-hundred rpms, not seven thousand like the standard model."

Or the truly frightening statement we never want to hear as someone returns from borrowing our beloved: "Cool ride. I could go from zero to seventy in under two seconds. And I never even had to shift it out of first gear!"

I ordered only the color matched hard top but was wondering if the HARDWARE components for a softtop are still installed on the vehicle, and if i should one day start getting younger (ha, ha) could i just purchase a new soft top and put it on? I heard with the dual top option it delivers with the hard top on so i'm thinking the hardware is already on the vehicle, hard top or not. hay or nay?

Jeep just wants to give the JKR10A/JKUR10A a little, "ol' school cool," by graduating the tachometer in 10 X 100 increments instead of 1 X 1000 increments. It's still the same number

Like Espada just said 10x100=1000 so the reading is the same just different base number and I like.... it. The more they make the 10a different from the norm the better. Now I just have to decide where I am going to mount my CB since the top of the center stack now has a tray instead of a hump like my 09 had.

great pics! i think those are by FAR the best shots we've seen of the 10A. nice work.

i'll be sorta disappointed if they deliver the 10A with those rubber floor mats. i bought those once and they are junk. my heel wore through it after about a month (and no, i dont wear stilettos). A nice wool 10th anniversary edition floor mat would have been cool. oh well - i'll replace them myself.

You'll be disappointed then. The Jeep comes with the Mopar slush mats, they are part of the 10A package. I just wish they came with both the normal mats (embroidered with the 10A logo of course) and the slush mats. I could use the carpet mats for the 'normal' driving in the summer, and the slush mats for wheeling and winter.

Agreed, the hat was an oversight. They should include embroidered carpet mats and slush mats.

If you ordered the hardtop only then that is what you'll get. The hard top only! The dual top group has the bows, mounts, headers and hardware boxed in the rear along with the soft top and the hard top mounted.

Hard top only means just that, hard top only. Soft top means, soft top only. Dual top group has both, complete.

Sorry, the dual top group from the factory is your most economical choice if you think you'll want the soft top later. I ordered the dual top group and figure that if I never mount the premium soft top, it should be worth in the neighborhood of $1200 on the market still in the boxes.

Also remember that a 10A is supposed to have the premium soft top, anything less will detract from the value at sale time. Speaking as to the soft top only, I realize the hardtop commands more money at sale also.

Wouldn't the wool look like the hide of a half eaten sheep after a couple of months worth of use? I can see replacing with an improved rubber mat, but wool? Hmmm.. I am not familiar with its use as a vehicle floor mat. Does it stand up to use well?

I didn't make myself clear. I understand the dual top option, but doing it with the color matched hardtop adds another grand, and as i know now if i ever want a soft top i can get the premium replacement complete with hardware for about a grand with rebates. You answered my question about the hardware, its in the box...thanks.

well wool is more of a classic material used in nice cars, but today you'll see synthetics that closely resemble wool. Jeep sells a nice synthetic carpet-like mat that i have my my 2011 sahara. There's nothing great about the rubber - expect with snow i suppose. a 10th anniversary mat would have been cool!

Wool carpets and mats are used in european high end vehicles, such as Bentleys. It's an extremely nice product that wears well in a street car type environment for a vehicle that is well cared for regularly. It has a very tight nap, I have it in my newest pro-touring project car.

Not a good choice for a Jeep that would see anything but pavement and mostly fair weather, and that's not what we buy Jeeps for.

I prefer the slush mats, I just hope they are equal to or as good as Husky liners or weathertech. I use Husky in most all of my vehicles that are daily drivers, just scrub them with a cleaner and brush like tires, hose them off and put them back in once dry. Easy maintenance and my carpets look new years later.

When it's time to sell or trade I remove the Husky liners, put the factory carpet mats which are still fresh and like new back in and it looks like it did on day one as far as the floors are concerned.

Not quite. the soft top is mounted to the brackets in a rolled up bundle inside the jeep on a dual top option. The side windows, door surrounds, and back window comes in 2 boxes. The brackets are only there if you purchase a soft top. Those brackets and attaching screws would have to be procured.

I have seen the Anvil color in person. Didn't look this grey at all. I saw more blue! I know everyone sees everything different and monitors are different but this looks really grey.
