All of the sudden....Just like that....

A regular non-badged 10th Anniversary Rubicon sounds like a killer bargain at $30,500. Throw $5400 at a standard Rubi and it slaughters little red riding hood.

I know we cannot trust these pics. But the Anvil on the bottom right looks a lot more like what I was expecting...

Right but keep in mind the 10th has std power options on the 2 dr, connectivity group, slush mats and premium top and leather heated seats. If you take a 2 dr Rubi and add those options you are now at $34755. $1240 gets you KM2s, hood, bumpers, rock rails, and some different badging.

Makes total sense Pat.

I'm just more into 3" lift/ 35" tires/wheels/steel fenders/re-gearing.

And less into Premium Tops/Power Windows/Connectivity Groups.

But, Slush mats...those are nice.

I like weather techs mats better! Jeep ones kinda suck at keeping water off the carpet. For some this is a great package... for others not so much. I think you can definitely justify the price though.

The pricing actually isn't too bad.....

Say...did Jeep learn their lesson from the COD fiasco? I'm thinking so....

Sounds like the 2-door guys get the better end of deal correct?

Didn't the 4-door Rubis have a lot of the electronic stuff standard.

Also, congrats on 2000!!!!

So when do the order banks open up? I might just have to pull the trigger. Haven't decided if that red leather is a deal breaker or not. Otherwise, I'm a fan. Not worried about the tires, those will be switched out.

BINGO. This is what many folks don't get about special editions.

You've got to look at what comes with the package aside from the distinctive features--Jeep usually packs in some features in their special editions that are really just common options. Here for example, Jeep is telling you that if you want a 10th anniversary Rubi, you MUST also get it with power windows/locks. And so far as I know most of Jeep's JK special editions have been that way.

For example, folks thought the Mountain Edition was "thousands of dollars worth of stickers" added to a Sport, but they didn't realize that part (most) of the price of that package was actually the power windows and locks, side steps, gas cap, slush mats, tail light guards, etc. Once you accounted for adding those options to a Sport, the distinctive features of the Mountain Package (mineral grey grille and wheels, black hood decal, seat embrodery, black interior, etc.) only cost a few hundred dollars at MSRP.

Not nothing, but not "thousands of dollars worth of stickers" either. So far, I haven't seen any JK special editions that were plainly over-priced when you really looked at the math.

^2012 Jeep Wrangler COD says

I'm on the Jeep "build it" site right now, and the Unlimited starts at $40,455. Yes...the 2012 COD base price is more than the 2013 10th Anv Rubi base price.....and it didn't include a premium soft top, heated seats, or updated EVIC.

Like I said...I think Jeep learned their lesson from the COD fiasco. Price it too high, and there will be a half dozen left overs sitting on every dealers lot come July....

But I do agree with your point...there are some solid features that really justify the price of the 10th Anv.

Yeah for you it's easy and it would be for me if I had access at work. Web filter blocks it.

I'm good with red seats being standard as long as at least black will be offered as an option. For me the red seats are a deal breaker. And that sucks cause I was ready to pull the trigger on the release of Anvil.

I actually REALLY like the wheels...never thought I would say that for a factory wheel.

But, the all red leather seats are a no-go for me personally.

Hey Pat. In your experience, do you think the 10A will be available to order through the Affiliates program? I don't expect a definite answer this early, but what are your thoughts?

I've never heard of any Chrysler vehicle being exempt from the program... that would be incredibly lame.

I'm very curious what the dealer invoice price is on these...

A loaded Rubicon indicates the following:

$44,145 Rubicon MSRP (loaded w/leather)
$-1,100 Leather Seat Option
$5,400 10th Anniversary Package (includes leather)

$48,445 Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition MSRP...

Most dealers in California will be loading these with all options with exception to the block heater... therefore paleh0rse is correct to say these will be upward to $49K and over $50K if you include the winch.

What is the price of a Rubi (2 door vs 4 door) with the same options (heated leather, power package for 2 door, connectivty) as the 10th anv? I'm sure the dealer mark-up will be horrible...but the pricing isn't that bad IMO.

I was looking for jeep concept images on Google, trying to get an idea on what the next Wrangler could be. Remember the Jeep Rescue back in 2005 or 2006? That was a good hint for the Unlimited! So, I was looking at pics then I realized that Jeep gave us all a good hint about the Anvil color at the last SEMA show!! Remember the Mighty Fc Concept?

What do you think?

I "kinda" like the color on the FC...however...I also see some Cosmos in there. And speaking of seeing....is that red interior?

Regardless...my issue isn't with the color of Anvil (I like the color), it is with the name. Has anyone ever seen a (non painted) blue anvil?

Edit: Just saw the FC in another thread....it was much darker...and looked like it could have been the basis of Anvil.

I don't know... I ran the JKUR numbers off Jeep build-it.

But I don't see California dealers giving these away... DMU could be $2K-$6K since it's a limited edition.

I'm going to check with my contact and inquire if I can order and snatch one up at invoice - they know I sold my 2010 Grand Cherokee SRT8 and I've been waiting on the sideline.

Whenever I take my 1991 in for service work, the fleet manager runs out to ask if I'm ready... he didn't read the Carrot Principle.

I'll report back.

That was one of the problems with the COD's that hit the lots. They always maxed out the damn options, so their sticker prices were astronomical.

(The same could be said for any of the models on the lot, though... always too many options for my taste... which is why I custom ordered my 2013 JKUR with just the connectivity package and premium soft top for $32.9k! )

Now, I guess if you order a 10A, the price isn't completely unreasonable... it's certainly not my cup of tea, but others may be willing to go for it since it's under $40k.

Interesting. The MSRP on the 10th anniversary is lower than the MSRP on the regular one I ordered for myself. Also, it looks like it would have been cheaper to buy the special edition with the options I wanted rather than adding bumpers, side steps and a hood.
Just out of curiosity, does the Tread Lightly thing work on special editions? If so this looks like a bargain to me. If not, markup might make it a stupid purchase.

Well, a 10A 4 door starts off at $39,495 (not sure if that includes delivery).

I think most people would add a hard top (which would be discounted since it comes with a more expensive premium top..so would that be +$495?).

It already comes with Connectivity standard, plus the power package is already there. The Alpine upgrade is already there. Leather heated seats are already there.

If you were buying a manual...you would not have to add a lot of options. Now, if you wanted a painted top, an auto, remote start, factory tow and nav...you start adding in some duckets.

But a manual Rubi with just a hard-top is pretty well loaded.
Swap in your own upgraded Radio (430 RBZ anyone?). Add your own tow hitch (Q-tec) and you are looking pretty good price wise. Like I said..I think Jeep learned their lesson on the COD's...the pricing looks fine to me.
