You wouldn't stay in business very long.

Sorry but that just doesn't sound like a good deal to me. I'm paying almost 3% below invoice and I'll drive it away the day that it comes off the truck! Now THAT'S the type of deal I'd consider if I were you!

i dont think the 10A will appeal to a very broad audience. The more street friendly versions of wranglers are a tough sell to most people - for obvious reasons, and the 10A is the most rugged version yet. And dont forget its 40k - at least (esp when you arent getting below invoice, which most people dont). so while we are all wet in the pants (justifiably so) and cant wait to get our hands on ours, a lot of others wont give it a second look in the showroom, and if they do, they likely wont be begging the dealer for one. anyway, thats just my 2 cents.

I hope there's no production problems that push the dates way back. I'm so excited to get mine!

Yes, it looks like most of us are waiting for D-1 status now. I, and my dealer thought i'd have a VIN quickly after going to D, but it's been a few days now and nothing. They will probably flood us all at once.....sooner than later i hope. I was going to go ahead and finalize the paperwork, funds, etc., and dealer said they need the VIN before they can do anything else. C'mon Jeep, let's see some expediting.

I wouldn't want mine sitting on some showroom where everyone can come along and fiddle with it. I don't even want the dealer doing anything more than just removing the shipping stuff like plastic over the seats and such. They are not to even put the normal dealer label on it.

And I am so glad that we were given the chance to order before the dealers could so the price didn't get jacked up after they got them all and we had no choice if we wanted to get one however they chose to order it and at their inflated price. Thank you.........Jeep!

Agreed! When the delivery date gets closer, I'm going to make it a point to tell them not to do anything at all with it. I don't even want them to take the plastic off the seats or remove any stickers. I want it exactly as it came out of the factory and I'll do the rest myself. Sign and drive!!!!

I told my salesman up front, no dealership decals to be put on the Jeep. I'm still trying to figure out the license plate mounting in the front, may have to velcro. I wonder if that front insert for the fairlead (piece that removes saying Rubicon) is plastic or metal. I noticed other (normal) jeeps have small dimples in the front bumper for a plate to be drilled for mounting, even the MOAB has these, but it doesn't appear the 10A does from pictures i've tried to close in on. Wonder if they must provide a space for the plate? My state requires the front plate and where i work i must have it mounted legally.

I ordered my 2013 Rubicon in Nov, took delivery in Dec right when announcement of this 10A was coming out. I love everything I see on the 10A and even though I love my Rubi, I am a little jealous I can't get one.

I hope all of you enjoy your 10A Rubi to the fullest and drive it proud for the rest of us!

This is a good point. I wonder how the front plate mounts to the 10A bumper. Is it off set? Or is there a mounting plate piece that would cover over the winch if u had one?

Anyone know if it's possible to order the hardtop seperately? I chose to orders just the soft top, but my parents are insisting I get the hardtop as well because I work in NYC.

Are there any aftermarket hardtops that might be better for the price?

I might be willing to trade my 730N for a hardtop. PM me if interested. My audio guy says he can get me a much better head unit for the price of the 730.

Check out mopar.com & quadratec.com and such websites. There are options.
There are also different types of interior lock boxes and trunk set-ups you can get if they are worried about item theft.

That's my main concern, but I also don't want someone to slice it for shits and gigs.

And thanks for the links

Can you not change your order to add the Dual top? It'll be a lot cheaper to add the dual top than to buy one after-market if I'm not mistaken. You could then also drop the 730N if you wanted at that same time.

yeah, the Quadratec Jeep factory hard top is $2500. Grim! $1500 from Jeep and you have both the soft and the hard. No brainer there.

Change your order man. Get the dual, and bag the 730. You wallet will be fatter!

Sheesh...you guys ordered a vehicle that wasn't even supposed to start production until a specified date that is still weeks away. I can't understand what you are Grrrr-ing about. Somebody should start a waiting room where you can whine about order status.

Enough said!

I am excited to get mine, but I'm not planning to have it until the middle of April. If I get it sooner, I will be pleasantly surprised. Just relax, the production doesn't start for another 2.5 weeks, so the first Jeeps will be delivered what, 4-5 weeks after that? Calm yourselves!

Well I had no idea when I ordered what the production date was. I was just told it would probably be here in 6-8 weeks. Others have status further along so thats why the GRRR. Its my first new car that I am actually buying not just leasing so Im really excited so I cant be calm. Besides, if post about anything else no one repsonds!

I am NOT a patient person, this is killing me but I figure the more wound up I get during the waiting process the longer its gonna feel like it takes.

Calm and relaxed: 1 actual week = 1 week in my head
All wound up: 1 actual week = 2.5 weeks in my head

At least that's what I tell myself to get by!

It's been stated many times here that production isn't scheduled to start until 3/4. I wouldn't expect to see anything move to D-1 for two weeks from today at a minimum.

Your dealer was quoting time to you as if it were a standard order of a Jeep that is available. The 10A was a Pre-Sell vehicle, which meant that orders were being taken well in advance of scheduled production. Evidently your dealer was un-informed, which is a pretty common occurence unless you are dealing with one who is on top of his product.

I'm starting to get pretty antsy myself, but i knew what to expect going in. Heck, I've already got a garage full of parts waiting for it, and itching to turn wrenches.

How dare we be anxious about our orders!!! I don't see anything wrong with us wanting our toys. Seeing movement in status makes you feel assured that your soon to be 40K investment is moving along properly and keeps the excitement fun. And last I checked, THIS IS the thread to 'whine' about things on....
