IMO, these will just be another gimmick model like the MW3 edition....10A is mentor for all other jeep models so far...

Thanks to Pat and Archer for The info. I'm still excited no matter what...since we still can't touch, wax, or mod our 10A, their consideration and info along with the banter and discussion that it creates has been entertaining and extremely helpful. I have wanted a Rubi for since 2003 so this vehicle is "special" to me.

My posts about seat stitching color or asking about unit numbers is out of appreciation and curiosity to hear what "special" is for others! I have been two combat trips and have experienced about every bad hole outside the US. So at the cost and investment of blood, sweat, and money over time and to finally have one on the way is a "special" edition. So I am particular and I have high expectations since I have paid the price for this Jeep...my jeep!? Yes! I have had three before however I hope this one fits me and is the outward expression of my investment in life over time.

So jeep if you read these, please remember each jeep owner is "special" just as our jeep is to each of its owners!

Archer please keep an eye on "mine" as it comes through!! Thanks again Pat,

Wow that was heavy...anyway ... bring on the red stitching on black seat option!!! :-)

I'm sure there will be some similarities, no lift kit or bigger tires. I'm guessing no LED lights either. Just my $.02 though

Any ideas what lights Jeep used for the Dragon? I'm looking for a set of LEDs for my 10A.

Thanks, looks like 8700 evolutions? Does the 2013 support a swap? Any suggestions for a good headlight thread to get started on? Thought maybe a late year addition onto this flagship edition model. :-)

100% unlikely they upgrade the lights.

Look up member Hilldweller, he's got great info on upgrades for all lighting.

If the fuse boxes are like the ones on the newest Fords' then I would sure feed any new lights using relays that are controlled by the oem wiring. Otherwise the fuse box will get mad and turn them off for good.

I am kind of like Hammer on this issue of the 10a. I have also wanted a rubi since 03 but just have never been able to find the one I want on a dealers lot and when they have tried to find me one they always come up short in some way. Have never felt compelled enough to order one since I have my X model to play with. When they mentioned that there would be a tenth anniv model that put a whole new light on things though. I decided right then that I would order one of these and did so on day one thanks to info from this thread provided super Pat & Archer. No matter how many they might make mine will be special. 1. manual not auto 2. dual tops not color matched and not just hard or soft 3. anvil instead of one of the other three colors that can be on any jeep 4. red seats instead of black like ones that can be ordered for any other jeep 5. special bumpers 6. special springs 7. special tires .... I really like my jeep, can't wait for it to come home.

Could it be??

Stopped by the dealer today. My salesmen checked with the sales manager and came back to tell me my order is in JS - shipped to storage. Looking at the code sheet, JS is past J - built okd, and way past D1, frame, paint, trim, etc.

10A production was supposed to start on March 4th, and is now delayed for two more weeks. Is my dealer whacked, or could jeep possibly be building these 10As on the down low?

Pat, Archer, what do you guys think?

PM the last 8 of your VIN and ill look at it later tonight and let you know. At dinner with the wifey for a late Velentines Day. I was having fun at the Chrysler Technology Center in Auburn Hills on Thursday so now I have to make it up to her.

I really doubt it is in JS, but stranger things have happened.

Dragon Special Edition,....."we said that we'd do a 1000 or so for the US market",.....words directly from Jeep President and CEO, Mike Manley.

Sounds too good to be true. My dealer had me at BG then BX then C but last I checked he told me BG again. I don't trust that they are actually looking it up or probably more likely the info they are getting is screwy for some reason.

Mr Manley, really!! Hope it is on a Sahara package and they don't have red stitching in the seats!! Lol. With all the delays, Hope jeep puts our 10A in production first!? Also, the LED lighting in the Dragon may be useful on the 10A, but the gold seat in-lays may be too much for US market? also, jeep has had limited runs of black seats with red stitching...the altitude edition did, so Jeep dust the idea off for the 10A. The Dragon is only 1000 units, so much for the limited edition and min for R and D discussion earlier today when the 7000 unit discussion erupted. Jeep, Mr Manley, please number the 10A!! :-)

Thanks for the Dragon photo, awesome. Now i visualize my 10A, Black/Red, color matched top, being a sort of Dragon, but with Rubicon off road functionality. I'll put a Dragon decal somewhere and call it a day....ha, maybe i'm not so concerned about the 7,000 number now...

You are probably right Doc. I've experienced some of the same with my dealer. Not on the status codes, but on other information I've requested about the 10A.

I actually spent 10 minutes today telling two salesman in the dealership about the features of the 10A. Neither had a clue it was for sale, and hadn't heard about it. Both these guys are Jeep salesmen and sit right next to the salesman I ordered my 10A from. I guess information sharing is not a priority with these guys.

This is the best kept secret Jeep has ever had. I had to inform the dealer about the 10a when I ordered mine also. They had never heard of it and didn't have any info on it until I handed them what I had printed out myself. I am amazed the dealers have been able to sell as many as they have.

Your best bet is to look in the posts just prior to 15 Jan for the info you need and print that out. Then either call the dealer and walk them through the order process or take it with you when you go see them. You will have to tell them to make the rubi a sold unit before they can get the 10a package on it for you to begin the process.

When I went in to the dealer that I had thought was the place to order from, the salesman went to the sales manager and they would only offer me only $18000 for my loaded 2010 JK Sport with less than 10000 miles.

Then I overhead the sales manager say that I wasn't going to buy or order a 10A since my fuel tank was full and he wasn't worried about the sale. I starting laughing so hard I almost couldn't open the door as I left to go to the dealer that I did order from. Sent an email to the dealership that i ordered from on the way home since i wasted a couple hours at the earlier dealership and the owner of the successful dealership called me after-hours and promised a deal that I could handle.

This is my "special" edition on order, but my 10 JK is currently still "my jeep". Can't trade it into just anyone!! Lol. :-)

If only I had a dollar for the Jeep salesmen that I've trained on their products!! My thanks to each of you... And always appreciation to Pat and Archer! :-)

What Genesbro said and this: New Cars & New Car Prices - Kelley Blue Book

Pick 2013 Jeep, and the 10A is in the list. Select the 10A, and build it out. The feature list is correct. Print out your build results and take it to the dealer.

Join Tread Lightly for 1% below invoice pricing if needed. I called around and went with a dealer that offered 2% below.

Good Luck!!

The 7000 number is total for U.S. and export. Still only 5000 for U.S. market.

I don't have any info on it yet. How cool would a Wrangler on tracks be? I'd rock it for sure.

Just looked at the New York Auto Show site and it looks like Jeep is going to have the same setup & cars that they have in Chicago. Only problem is that it doesn't start until March 29th, finishing April 7th. But this will be an opportunity for us East Coasters to see the Anvil 10a before our delivery's start.
