I'd love to know if anyone else fixed this. I haven't tried again since my earlier debacle.

I tried calling PAC and the tech guy did not know about the update in the later 2013 Wranglers. I just want the aftermarket headunit/navi to work, I can live without factory amenities (bluetooth, usb, etc...). Hate to bring it to a stereo shop and half way through install doesn't work.

It's quite possible that it does work. PAC harnesses are fairly commonly used and I've only heard a couple of reports, which appeared to come via one of my least favourite suppliers, of firmware issues. If it was a widespread problem I imagine that PAC would get straight on to fixing it. It may even not have been a real issue and just that particular supplier making stuff up, which wouldn't be the first time for them in my experience.

My guess is that you'll be fine, but I don't want to guarantee anything and then have you pissed at me if there is a problem. If PAC say you're good, I'd say you're good.

I can't believe the price of the adapters these days. Are they that advanced? Or just overpriced? That being said when I needed the steering wheel and radio adapters for my 2012 I was able to save a ton of money by searching around for the proper PAC controllers. I think I bought one from Amazon and the other from ebay, which saved me over $100 off the price from sonicelectronix

woansleftleg you make a lot of sense. I can't be the only late model 2013 wrangler trying to install an aftermarket headunit and PAC should have gotten it right by now. Ill give it a try and let you guys know.

I talked to PAC awhile back, they said then that they didn't test them in the 2013's yet and couldn't guarantee it. After reading up on it here, I went for it, but then work killed having the time to do it. I finally got to it today (been working on it a little over the past few days). The only issue I had was the PAC instructions say it pre-programmed for the steering wheel controls and you only need to mess with it if you want to change options. Well, I put it together and I had no steering wheel controls. After a few moments of rechecking everything, freaking out, and then taking a chance - I reset the PAC. After a reset, all is good.

My Jeep was an earlier 2013, I think it was a Sept. build date. I have the S package, without premium sound (no amp or sub).
