My front covers were two piece, one for the seat and one for the back on each. I had to put the seat on first to get at everything easily, but it wasn't bad. I have pulled the nylon strap off them a few times when I took them off to clean them, and had to sew them back on with heavy duty coat thread. The thing that really holds them in place is the fabric and straps that are pulled through between the seat and the back portion and clipped to the front underneath. If they changed it to a one piece design, I don't see how it could ever stay as tight.
