U130S here, same issue(?), could care less unless its stops functioning. The interior in this thing is 100 times more rugged then my Subaru Interior, that thing was horrible.

I noticed this on my Jeep earlier this week. I had not noticed it before...long story is I had my radio "flashed" to be able to accept a back up camera. I assumed that the dealership did not replace the trim the correct way. I even called the dealer back and said we would fix it next time I am in....

I am also assuming they had to remove the radio to re-flash it.

My JKU 2013 looked exactly like the OP after installing Mopar remote starter at the dealership. Long story short went to a different dealer and I got it replaced under warranty now it sits nice and flush.

So are we only seeing this issue if you have had the dash/radio removed????

It is kind of looking that way...

I have had my non-nav 2013 Rubicon for about a year now and first noticed the dash bowing out a few months ago. After reading this thread I don't plan on doing anything about it other than live with it.

Its not broken, and the radio works, I'm ok with it. This isn't a Ferrari, its a Jeep, I don't expect perfect gap lines.

To all the guys that haven't read the entire thread or aren't picking up what I'm laying down:

The gap acts like a vent or a scoop for dirt (and rain). My window buttons stick after long off-road expeditions in the desert of AZ or in the backcountry of the Rockies. Eventually they break loose and I cycle them a few times to clean out the dirt, but I'm not sure how long that will work. Luckily I just got a 100,000 bumper to bumper warranty from Chrysler due to my laundry list of repairs for my time and resource expenditures! All my window indicator lights are out except one and they sometimes stick and go straight to auto down mode when I try to vent the cabin.

What I'm saying is, it's not about Ferrari (haven't seen to many of those out in BFE) fit and finish it's about the results of the lack thereof in terms of a sufficient fit and finish on the dash panel.

I totally agree with given the fact some of us and I bash dunes where fine sands can for sure gather up between button lines and stuff....I personally use tissues every time I am on the sand to block the gap...

I've got a '14 JKU Rubicon and first noticed this when I was test driving/window shopping. I took the time to look at every JK at the two dealerships I was considering, only about half seemed to fit correctly. When I purchased mine, I drove off the lot knowing that it didn't fit, and at the time, couldn't have cared less. But I find my eye drawn to it every time I'm stopped at a traffic light. I've grown to hate it. I hadn't even considered the possibility of dabris/dust/trash collecting in the gap prior to reading this thread...now it just bugs. I'll be calling the dealer and having it replaced (as many times as needed) until they get me one that fits correctly.

I have an appointment with my dealer Thursday to see if they can fix the dash issue. I will post findings...I honestly doubt they can.

I noticed the same thing on the JK Jeeps. My new 2014 Rubicon X has the gap issue as well. I am going to leave it alone for now as the dealer will screw things up and not fix the issue and put another faulty piece on. It just looks like there all this way to one digree or another.

I did cut about a 1/4" wide small strip or length of the furry side of a strip of velcro and put it along the bottom of the 430N door. The door opens and shuts fine it also sealed the gap a little and made the gap not look as noticable. See pic's

Well, I took my Jeep to the dealer today about the gap below my 730N head unit and they informed me that Chrysler doesn't feel that "the gap is big enough to be an issue...nothing could fall into the gap"...

While I do not doubt that, I do think it looks like crap. Anyone have a contact with Chrysler to start the ball rolling with the factory???

At first, when I read this thread, I thought 'nit-picking' but the fact is the pictures pretty much tell the story. My '13 w/130 doesn't have the issue but I can see how it could aggravate someone. I mean, it's obviously right were you eyes would rest everytime you look at middle of dash. I don't have electric windows, so maybe that's the cause.

Don't have the electric windows neither and no gap. It's may be more related to that than head unit model.

May have already been said - I think it's the power window assembly. There's an incredible amount of force pushing out against the dash. One hot day and hello, warped dash.

No cure until/unless Jeep hooks the lip of the dash to the underside of the radio.

Update....when I picked up my Jeep today, the guy said "listen, we decided to just order the parts to try to fix the gap." They went out and checked the Jeeps on the lot and half of them were flush and half had the gap, so they assumed it is an issue. I will keep everyone informed.

I spoke to the dealer yesterday. As with others, they confirmed it's a well known issue. They said they'll make sure it gets taken care of... We'll see.

Mine isn't as bad as some others... But it sure bugs me!

Had mine in for warranty work this morning.

The tech said my dash panel was missing two clips "under the radio". While there are two guides on the bottom of the head unit, I've had the panel off and didn't see where two clips would hook to/from the panel.

Regardless of what he meant, he's ordered either the two clips or the entire panel (presumably with clips). I asked if this was just a panel replacement waiting for the first hot day of summer and he said no.

We'll see next week...

Mine didn't have a gap until a few weeks after the dealer replaced my window switch. I'll have to check out if they can fix it.

Mine had a gap on the bottom left corner of the radio almost like the radio shifted in a bit.
I told the dealer while I was in for a new oil pump they had both fixed and washed my car in 3 hours. So it must be an easy fix.

Oh I have the 130

That's pretty funny. I just noticed this gap b/t power window switches and 430N radio.

Noticed the gap between the window switches and radio (130) earlier today. I'll add it to my (unfortunately growing) list of service issues when I take it for its first service.

In the meantime, I suppose I'll affix some tape to keep out dust and whatnot. It will look like carp, but oh well.
