Got this message this morning - Assembly is complete, and your new Jeep is in shipment from the plant. This is the final email notifying you of your vehicle’s progress in production. - I wonder how long it's going to take to get to Arizona now.

Sivlel2edge, I dunno how long it's going to take yours to get to AZ, but I'm hoping it's quick since I bet mine is on the same rail car as yours. I got the same message this morning and mine is coming to Vegas.

Are these worth it?[/QUOTE]

Depends on how long you plan on keeping your Jeep. I've kept my current vehicle for 10 years and plan on keeping my JKU (ordered 7/9/12) for even longer. Over the past 10 years, I paid less than $300 in repairs for my Dodge Ram besides routine maintenance. I doubt I'll get that lucky again with the Jeep, so I'm going with the Lifetime warranty for $2k.

Don't know about rust proofing because I live in Texas but I doubt it is worth it. Most of these things are huge profit generators for dealers. Cloth Protection? Go price a can of Scotch Guard at the store because that is what it is worth. Surprised you didn't mention VIN etching on the windows or paint sealants, again they are a profit source for the dealer.

I take good care of my vehicles so I pass on the extended warranty. My brother takes even better care of his vehicles and he gets them. If you decide to get one, make sure it is through a reputable company. Remember it won't even come into use for three more years at the soonest. You better be sure that company will still be there. Find out if you can go to any shop. Do they have a history of denying claims? Are they on sound financial footing? Do your research before you give them your money.

Ordered min on July 18th and I finally have a VIN. MY DCR JKUR is supposed to be built at the end of the month and two days on the train so looks like I will be getting a Labor Day present this year!

Wheels and Tires on 13 Rubi

Guys/Gals,

I took pictures of the jeep including the wheels and tires but I dont know how to post the pics. Anyway, I was contemplating buying a new set of rims and Thornbird TSL's for my new rubi but after seeing the stock wheels I think I am going to postpone getting them. I think the '13 rubi wheels and tires look AWESOME. Seriously very cool!

Another update today after calling: build began yesterday (31 July) and tentatively scheduled to load onto a rail car on 23 August. My order date was 18 July.

Scheduled for production, just like it has for the last two weeks. I just call for updates now since VOTS always seems behind.

Hey guys,
I might possibly be placing an order for a 2013 JKU tomorrow. I was wondering what you guys would consider a good price, or average price based on what you guys paid.

JK Unlimited in CRUSH
Sport S
24S
Automatic
3.73 gears
Towing Package
Black 3 Piece Hard Top

Thats basically it.

Not sure which towing package you want exactly... I assumed trailer tow. Invoice for that package would be $30,097.

You can figure it out by using this tool:

2013 Wrangler Pricing Spreadsheet by rddavisjr:

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0ys...ZzA/edit?pli=1

Spreadsheet notes: Download file and use Microsoft Excel or the free program OpenOffice to open the file.

I just got off the phone with the information line and I now have an estimated ship date of 8/21. I'm guessing about two weeks to San Diego. Does that sound about right?

I'll have to give them a call and see what my status is. I am trying to limit my calls to every Saturday! Makes me crazier that way!

Calculate the invoice. From that you could easily get 1% below invoice but you should aim for between 2-3% below.

Mine was loaded onto the train yesterday. The schedule shows it'll be interchanged in Chicago on 8/3 and arrive in Portland on 8/10. They show delivery to the dealer on 8/20.

So I'd say 10 days train ride to the west coast and another 10 days getting it to the dealer. (that last 10 days getting it from the rail yard to the dealer across town seems like they're sandbagging the schedule).
Maybe they need a full truck load of vehicles before they'll deliver to the dealer.

I hope their sandbagging. Waiting 10 days from the train yard to the dealer would drive me crazy!

Ummm that seems awful long... Is that the first time you've heard that from them? Sometimes they mix things up. I called this morning and my production began today. Its being loaded on the railcar on the 9th, that's 8/9, and will be in PHX by the 18th... 23rd for railcar seems a little long for you girl!

Just ordered my 2013 unlimited rubicon (auto). Every option except leather and smoker package.

Cost was $37,467 without tax. Dealer said about 45 days.

It's the first time ever that I've gotten actual dates, and sometimes when I call they can't find my order at all, so yeah, I'm not really counting on anything at this point, haha.

Yeah, I went on Edmunds.com and it was 29500 roughly. I will shoot for 2-3% below invoice for sure.

I think when they told us that construction has started on the Wranglers ordered on the 18'th - they mean major subsytem building. I think VOTS actually means the final assembly of the subsystems. I have also heard several times that VOTS is often behind....

Had to replace A/C, transmission, Nav unit (x2), suspension (front x2), headlight relay, windshield washer pump, water pump, and radiator fan, which would have cost well over the $2500 I paid for the warranty. Just fold them in with your original loan, and if you have a good interest rate, it really won't hurt you that much.

Check out Chrysler extended warranty, Factory backed extended warranties for Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler vehicles to get a very reasonable offer. They are real warranties sold through a legit Chrysler dealer.
+1

I'm planning to get the unlimited warranty with my Rubicon. I put a LOT of miles on my cars. Sold my 2004 Wrangler because the rod bearings were going out at 185,000 miles. That's usually an engine replacement. Would still be driving my 04 if I had that unlimited warranty!

RANT! Last week I called and was told estimated shipping date of August 18th. I got my VON on July 16. Now I call and get put on hold for a long time, only to be asked "When did you order your Jeep?" (July 16th) and put on hold again. After a good while, she came back and told me that "Yes, you are scheduled for production!" and "it normally takes 8-12 weeks".....WTF?

Are these people idiots, or do they know that they can treat customers like cow-dung simply because we will put up with it? I'm guessing a little of both.
