Jeeps probably trying to figure out if it's a typo or not before they build a blinged out Sahara Unlimited with leather....and a manual transmission.

RoadGlider,
Hang in there. I feel your pain. I am still waiting on my replacement for the 2012 that dropped a valve on Memorial day. That's right back in May.

The dealer, the Regional Chrysler rep and the ISG personnel don't know how to use a telephone and provide any updates other than what a computer tells them (by the way the computer actually runs the place).

I have been given every story under the sun and as of tomorrow if I don't get a story (one I really believe) that is attached to somebody(a real person) who knows what is going on the next call they will get will be from a lawyer and they will also see me on TV with the consumer affairs reporter from FOX news. Girlfriend works for FOX so that will be the easy part. They are already dying to tell this story.

I am amazed there is no one that can tell you anything about what is going on and frankly they really act like they don't care. I actually had the owner of the dealership tell me he does $ 40 million a year in sales with Chrysler and they can't tell him anything. He has no influence with them. Then he told me he was going on vacation next week. I was promised updates but if I don't call they couldn't give a crap.

As for ISG, they are so tied to the manufacturer it isn't funny. They have a one size fits all program and it is so biased to the dealer you will never get satisfaction. So much for my rant. Sorry to hijack the thread but personally I have had it. Depending on how I feel once the Jeep gets here I may just sell it because I won't be able to enjoy it. By the way ISG doesn't return phone calls either.

Best of luck to you...I hope you get better results than I am getting....

Usually shows up in VOTS 5-6 days after you place the order, you will get an email with a partial VIN 9-10 after the order is placed. But, none of this is carved in stone. Oh, 1 more thing....every time you call it a "car" a kitten dies! Once it get in VOTS, calling 1-877-IAM-JEEP will usually get you more accurate information.

You may not see it until this coming Tuesday when the next allocation period opens. I ordered mine on the 27th with a manual transmission and it still hasn't been picked up yet (it just shows as passing validation). From what I understand, the allocation for manual transmissions got used up pretty quickly in the current allocation period.

Oh how I wish that ordering my Jeep was like ordering my 2007 Mustang. There were several Ford assembly workers who frequented the forum and would give us updates of the production runs. For example, I followed my Mustang through the assembly but then it just sat on the lot over Thanksgiving for a long period of time. Ford didn't have a VOTS but if you could get a dealers ID number, you could get a version of IAMJEEP for the dealers that was pretty detailed. I couldn't understand why my car was just sitting on the lot (the dealer update just said quality hold) at the factory but then one of the workers got on the forum to tell us it was the grommet in the emergency brake cable that might let water in the cable housing which could freeze in cold weather and make the emergency brake inoperative.

First, I was impressed that they took the time to hold all those Mustangs to fix this problem before shipping. Second, I really appreciated the feed back from the workers. It made me feel better about spending so much of my hard earned money and at least gave me the idea that someone might care about us and try to remember that there were people who would be getting those vehicles that they (the assembly workers) got paid to assemble and that those customers had names and hoped that they were getting a good car for all of that money they were paying. The workers had to post through a third party to avoid breaking the rules about outside communication but it was paying huge dividends to Ford. There was a tangible feeling of pride that many of the workers displayed at that factory. For example, one of the inspectors left me a message in blue chalk on the underside of the car that said "Enjoy your car". It let me know that they knew it was a customer order not just a dealer order and that someone remembered me when they were building my car.

I hope that something similar might be going on in the Wrangler assembly plant in Toledo.....

GTJeep,

Agreed. ISG has never returned even one of my phone calls. And I think they have caller ID because when I call my Rep from a new phone number, she always answers. But if I call her again from the same number, I get voicemail. And apparently it's in the ISG policy manual to never, never, call anyone back.

I also may go the media blitz path if I dont get satisfaction soon. My pics and video are YouTube-ready, as well as my complaint to the NHTSA.

Nice config. I went for a 2 door Sahara with the manual so my order didn't get picked up right away.

If anyone is interested in 13 Rubicon Rims let me know... And if anyone has an honest opinion about what price I should be looking to get I'd be appreciative, I was thinking around $1000.00 for all 5 brand new never used...

I'm wondering the same thing. I ordered my JKU Rubi with Leather on 6/5 & got the VIN on 7/3. Been checking VOTS for the past few weeks and it still shows "Production Scheduled." I read about the leather delay on another forum that would supposedly keep production from starting until 8/20. I was hoping that didn't include mine, but now I'm thinking it has. I guess I should call IAMJEEP & see if they have more info.

For any of you that have taken delivery of your 2013, did you get the "deep tint" on your windows? I am trying to figure out if the deep tint, standard on some of the models, is dark enough for here in Arizona. When I ordered my '13 JKU Rubicon the dealer tried to automatically add tinting. But I looked the 2012 model and the tinting looked ok. Just curious what any of you have observed. Mine is scheduled to arrive at the dealer this Friday so I would like to tell them not to bother with tinting or to go ahead.

877IAMJEEP tells me... still sitting in Mass, as it has been since Friday, waiting for a full car-carrier load to get to my dealer. Showing ETA at dealer of 8/6 - but that's unlikely to be hit at this point. Google maps shows that if I drove down to go wave at it through the chain link fence, it would be 2hrs 4min away.

Ok, I just spoke with IAMJEEP and she confirmed that mine is indeed scheduled for production. She said it should hit the line on 8/13. Seems like I read somewhere that the delays on the leather were later moved up from 8/20 to early August, so I guess that would mean mine was included in that hold. I guess I'll give the VOTS system a break until next Monday, then.

I had a wierd conversation with IAMJEEP this morning. They said my '13 JKUR was built on July 27th and won't be shipped until the August 23rd and at my dealer the 31st. VOTS still just shows "Scheduled"...

She said that the status is D-1 which is built, on the lot, quality inspection. Can anyone confirm this?

D1 – gateline: unit sequenced for production, est ship date assigned, Approx time in station – 12 days
For what you are describing it would be either of these:
I – unit built, pending final inspection
J – vehicle passed final inspection but not released to carrier
So I'm guessing you might want to call 877IAMJEEP back and get a different rep and ask for your status again.

Thank you so much. The 23rd might be the day the chassis, and tub were built and painted which is in the same plant but in different buildings and done by 3 different companies from what I have read. Maybe final assembly is still to come. Thanks for posting the status codes. Obviously VOTS is the least accurate updater and is probaly a one size fits all format for all of Chrysler.

Not to get too far off base here, but if even just 25% of the people who order a Chrysler product are as impatient as we are, why not make the VOTS much more accurate and detailed and eliminate all these unnecessary calls to the toll-free number? I'd much rather just log on every morning, check my status to see if it's changed (or unchanged) and move on with my day. But when it's been the same status for 3 weeks without any real detail, I get frustrated and start calling - only to find out there is real info that was just never posted.

I can't think of anyone who would be so impatient about their Dodge Dart order.
