He estimated I would have it on 7/10, but alas, that is not the case. Hoping for today...should only take 2 hours to get it from the rail yard to the dealer if they can get a truck. The waiting continues...

It's been such a bittersweet process - several false starts since April, with an order finally placed on 5/22 after a good chewing out (the day Jeep cancelled new orders for Wranglers), that never went anywhere. As it turns out, the dealer had placed an order for their stock for the exact Jeep I wanted on 5/12 and was able to make it mine since it had already gone to D1 status while mine had not moved. I've been waiting, trying not to get my hopes up since they had been dashed a few times, and one of the guy's reps was even trying to get me to settle for something else - totally not cool! I will be excited once I see it...seeing is believing.

I have been living vicariously through everyone's ordering process for the past 2-3 months, patiently awaiting the arrival of my own. Thanks for posting all the awesome pictures.

Fingers crossed.
I feel your pain as I went through the same torture. My Jeep was off loaded from the railcar on 6/27 and sat in the yard 3 hours away from me for 9 days. My situation was made worse by the fact that I didn't have a car so I was renting, borrowing, thumbing rides etc. I finally called my dealer on the 8th day of it sitting in the yard and said I cannot wait any longer. Being without a car is costing me money and favors with friends/family everyday. After my salesman told me he has "no idea" when it will be delivered and could be another week or more in his opinion. I told him as much as it will hurt, I have to cancel the order and would be getting something used to have it right away. What do you know, the Jeep arrived a day later. Not sure if it was a lie but I was told the sales manager put a priority on the delivery with the shipping company being I was without a car and wanting to cancel the order. They said, as I posted earlier, the trucking company is independent from them so it loads whatever vehicle is next in line to be shipped to the dealer. This includes dealer stock vehicles while customer orders sit in the lot awaiting transport. But they can ask the trucking company to get a specific vehicle faster for situations like mine. So if you can wait, stick it out, it might be 9 plus days like mine or may be tomorrow, theres no telling. Or if your in need of it right away put some pressure on your dealer to get the vehicle brought in sooner. Hopefully they are willing to go the extra mile in customer service.

Keep the faith. I totally love mine. It's the first time I have ever ordered a vehicle (vs. just buying on the lot) and it was worth the wait. The wait is a killer.

Next time ask them for a loaner. If mine had not been in by the 2nd, they would have been supplying me an Unlimited from the used or new inventory until it got here. They made it by 4 days.

I did ask them for a loaner and they said we don't do that on orders because the vehicle arrival date is out of our control. I also asked if they could send a flatbed to go get it in the yard and I was told that would cost them 400 dollars and we're not going to do that either. That was during the same conversation when I told them I had to cancel the order. Nobody cares anymore. Good quality customer service is hard to come by nowadays. And they wonder why the dealerships get bad reputations. I'm just happy its over and I hope I never have to go through that again.

Were you able to use the delay in negotiating a better deal with the dealer? Yesterday, the dealer and Jeep confirmed that my 10A arrived at the rail yard on 7/5. It's now been 7 days. He said I'd get it last night or today 7/12, and that he would call/email me. He has never taken the initiative to share information, I have always had to call to keep track. Today would be 60 days from order date to delivery if I actually see it today.

I have been sceptical that I would ever see it (even though my name is on it) since I started this process. It has been long and disappointing at times. Thankfully, I don't "need" it, as I still have my vehicle. It would be nice if they would do some additional discounts due to customer service issues and delays. I wonder how much of this is really "out of their control" since they have contracts with these service providers. If it cost them money (like cancelled orders) then they may make more of an effort. I am definitely going to use it in my final negotiations.

Sorry you had such a difficult time. Glad that you finally got it. Hope I get mine today. Fingers crossed.

I want to thank everyone who has contributed to this thread. The information I absorbed helped tremendously. I don't think I'll order next time, however, that may be a long time in the future, because I plan on keeping this one for a while.

Congrats on finally getting yours. The wait is torture, it really is. I just received a call from the sales manager regarding my Jeep apologizing for the delay. I was told a 25 dollar gift card is available for me to use in their parts department as compensation. I guess something is better than nothing. I was not able to get any further reduction in the price of the vehicle for the delay but at least they did something to try and make it right.

I don't know how long it takes from order to delivery in the US but, 6 months almost to the day from placing the order, my Commando Green JKU should be sitting at Jeep UK awaiting PDI for me to hopefully collect on the 2nd Aug!

To say I am utterly disappointed with Jeep UK is an understatement........every time i get into my tin roof volvo with this glorious weather we're having i get annoyed. The long range forecast for the 2nd....RAIN.

it'll be good to have a Jeep again.

Yeah, we ordered our Volvo through European Delivery and were on a plane in three WEEKS, and the V70 was in our driveway 8 days after we got home.

Conclusion: Jeep really needs to figure out how to speed Sold Orders up, and have a factory delivery program. Would do wonders for overseas sales and help out the trade deficit.

It is possible to send a USB stick across the world and track it immediately anywhere, Jeep UK can't tell me where my £30,000 car is or when I can expect it. I emailed Jeep US who were able to tell me when it was built, when it was shipped and when Jeep UK should receive it. The product is great and I have been a life long Jeep fan but I'm regretting not getting a land rover!

Jeep Wranglers in the UK are not a common sight, is there any bloody wonder!

I feel your pain. My Jeep took 9 days to make it from New Jersey to New York when I ordered it. That is about 200 miles away. I wanted to pull my hair out! The entire transport process took 19 days total. And the Toledo Ohio factory is 9 hours drive from my house!

Wow, did this post just end? no posts since July 30?
Well, if anyone is still reading this post, there is a facebook group for 10A Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Owners. There are a fair amount of 10A owners on that group, but there are only a few California owners.

If you're interested in keeping up with 10A owners and modifications, etc., please join.

Sorry for somewhat resurrecting this thread, but....

Is it still possible to order 2013 models from dealerships? I would really like to get a 2013 10A Edition as I love that Anvil/Red interior combo.

I checked online, and it doesn't look like there is anyone who has them still on their lot within 900 miles of Arlington, VA.

I figured you could only order 2014s at this point, but I figured I ask and find out. Especially since it is still heavily promoted on jeep.com

(I know the Rubicon X package gives you red accents, as well as just about everything the 10A has, but it still doesn't have those great looking red seats.)

No 10a and all 2013 ordering closed back in the May/June timeframe. Unless you can find one on a lot, the 14 X is about as close as you can get.

You could get a 2014 Rubi X and add the red Katzkins afterward.

Just a thought...
