Well waiting room, it has been great. I will be leaving this room as a proud new Jeep owner. Thanks so much to everyone that has helped me along the way!

Well today marks the one month anniversary of being in either D or D1 status. Never knew a 2 door Sahara in Dozer with auto and leather would not be in frame or paint by now. Very disappointed. My first order was a lot quicker!

This morning VOTS still shows me in frame but Insight says its "in bay at facility", whatever that means. It is scheduled to be loaded on the train later this morning.

Scratch that, now it's says train arrival and the delivery date went back to oct 5.

My Sport S JKU is moving along a little quicker than I expected. Time Frames as follows:

Order 09/10/2012
Confirmation 09/12/2012
D1 Status 09/18/2012
I Status (Built ready for Inspection) 09.28/2012
VASC Advance Shipping notice to ramp 09/29/2012

So far on 19 days and am waiting for shipment. Insight isn't giving me any estimated delivery date, not sure why, when I think others do see one. Does anyone know howl long it takes to get to Virginia normally.

I just ordered my 2013 Rubicon Unlimited in true blue pearl and fully loaded! Cannot wait for it to arrive!

I have a list of mods already I'm looking to do to it right away:
Heat Reduction Hood
Bushwacker Flat Style Fenders
black fuel door
black tail lamp gaurds
EVTS

Mods that I will add within the next year - because I'll have to drive to the U.S. to get them installed (much cheaper than having them shipped):
ACE rock slider
ACE Front Bumper with Bull Bar
ACE Rear Bumper with Hitch
Winch

Winter Tires are also on order.

Only... about 8 weeks to go!

I went with the automatic this time! although the stick is a lot of fun, i have to give kudo's to the offroading capability of the auto. plus i'll be using this as my everyday vehicle too, so the automatic in the city and on the hwy is nice to have.

regarding the leather delay - is that for factory leather option or the katzkin leather? i went with katzkin and i think it gets installed separate from the production of the vehicle??

My wait will start soon. After seeing both commando green and billet in person today, I'm not sure which one to order this week.

Dealer handling fee

So checking over my Dealer Order Form/Configuration Preview and was wondering if anyone else has a "Dealer Handling Fee?" There is the Destination fee listed at $925. But it was agreed upon at "1% under invoice" then a handwritten $500 Dealer handling fee. (and I am NOT accepting any dealer add ons) Everyone else hit with this too? Is this common?
Edit: Did a quick check and see that it is fairly common in CO. What have people done to get out of them? I do intend to ask what that $500 entails.

I like the Billet as well, but my wife is getting Dozer. I wanted a manual, but my wife is getting an automatic. We believe in compromise, so my wife is getting what she wants and I am getting an AEV JK350 build with to many other mods to list, so it is a happy home. The Dozer Dame (DD for short) is going to be Hot!

The "Dealer handling fee" is simply additional dealer profit. I passed on the Tread Lightly discount and negotiated a $4,500 discount from sticker on a $35,880 msrp Jeep. I did have to pay a $270 doc fee that realistically reduced the $4,500 discount to $4,230 but I was satisfied. There is some really strong dealer cash incentives on Wranglers right now. This means you can negotiate discounts substantially below invoice. This renders the Tread Lightly pricing a bit outdated.

They have a few days for Dozer. Cutoff is 10/12 according to 2013 info thread (if you trust it I suppose).

At first I was worried to Billet would be too silver for me, and GC would be to yellow-ish. But after seeing them both in person, I was very impressed. Billet is pretty slick and very metallic. GC is much "creamier" and "soothing" in person as well. I could flip a coin between the two. Billet, GC, and Dozer are my top three choices, with white as a back-up.

It is, I have a ship date of 10/4, but it will ship to AEV first, then I have to wait again. Hopefully I will have a quick and quality turn around from AEV to the dealership.

This morning I ordered my second set of mods:
Ace JK Rock Sliders
Quadratec The Ultimate Floor Liner Combo
Bushwacker Hood & Tailgate Protectors
Drake Off Road Billet Hood Downs &
Hood Hold Down Turnbuckles in Black

I will add to the list in a couple of weeks; I am waiting for the 4Wheel Parts Monster Sale on 10/13/12 to purchase some of the larger items.

Tossing my hat in waiting room... I ordered my 13 JKUR on 9/19 and it's sitting in D1 with a scheduled ship date of 10/10. Billet with matching top, black fenders, 4.10, 6spd, and some other stuff.

I ordered on 9/17, hit D1 on 9/19, but none of the systems are giving me any additional ETA's for shipping or delivery. Mine is similar to yours, but with just a premium soft top instead, so I'm hoping the dates are similar as well... no idea, though.

Mine was entered in on 9/13. Just got my D1 email today.

The email says, "The parts required to assemble your new Jeep have been received, and your vehicle is now scheduled for production. "

Regarding the leather delay. Since I received this email and am in D1, does that mean I'm safe...or could I still be affected by the delay?

Anyone know?

X2...I'm having the AEV 350 package installed on mine. Jeff at AEV quoted 3-4 weeks after they receive it. He said it could be much quicker, but they have to be safe with the expectations.

That is good to know. Thank you!

I am sure you posted this but what are you getting, i.e. color and options?
Do you have a ship date, and if so when? Maybe we will be delivered to AEV at the same time.
