Just ordered mine today through Dick Scott Motor Mall in Fowlerville, Michigan - they've been great! I've wasted so much of their time trying to do dealer trades for remaining 2012 models before finally ordering my 2013. So without further ado...
JKJS72 Wrangler Rubicon 2-DR ... $30,495
23R Customer Preferred Package
DEH 6-Speed Manual NSG370 Transmission
PX8 Black Clear Coat
*A7 Cloth Seats
CWA Mopar Slush Mats ... $75
AEM Dual Top Group ... $2085
GCD Deep Tint Sunscreen Windows ... $300
AJP Power Convience Group ... $795
AAJ Connectivity Group ... $485
AHT Trailer Tow Group ... $295
JPM Heated Front Seats ... $250
Destination Fee ... $925
Dealer-installed two-tone (001 Black and 088 Earth) leather ... $1050
Subtotal ... $36,755 (sales tax is additional 6% in Michigan)
So, a few parting thoughts here:
1) First of all... $925 shipping anywhere in the continental U.S.? C'mon, Toledo isn't even 100 miles away!
2) I really wanted a medium-to-dark green, to resemble forest camoflauge. I found a 2012 Wrangler in Black Forest Green (no easy task, since the Rubicon with a 6-speed was an absolute requirement for me...), and it looked almost black to me - a far cry from something like the Natural Green I had in mind. I wasn't so sure I'd like Commando, so I figured I'd just go with black. With the dark rims and black fenders and top, I figured it would look... stealthy? It was either that or bright white, which would make a nice contrast (and serve as snow camoflauge), but ultimately I preferred the all-black.
3) I took a chance ordering the custom leather interior sight-unseen - it's a dealer-installed aftermarket option (not Katzkin, but a different brand). He said most people who have gotten it prefer it to the factory leather, and the price was about the same ($1050 vs. $1100 from Chrysler), plus it's customized. I think the "Earth" brown center will give it a rugged look, and the black edges will nicely match the rest of the cabin.
So, as you all can see, I'm really excited! I've just finished grad school, and this is my first new car. It cost a bit too much, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it for a long time! Any thoughts on the price? These guys have been really helpful, and I don't want to lowball them, but I've got to think of myself too. Maybe if I pay MSRP, I can negotiate more for my trade-in?
