From what I can tell, Insight itself updates maybe once daily. I don't think it is a live update type system.

According to insight and my dealer my Jeep was delivered to the Doremus Distribution Plant in NJ on 10/3, I live on Long Island NY. It was originally scheduled to be delivered to dealer on 10/5. It has been like an hour away in NJ since 10/3 and I can't get a straight answer on why I don't have it yet and its not at the dealer. Everyday it gets moved 2 days further out on Insight.

Is it possible it was lost or something? As I woke up this morning it now has a 10/15 ETA and I imagine tomorrow that will be 10/16. Can't get an answer out of the dealer I just get I will call you back in a few minutes and nothing.

The bold is my assumption, as well. It sucks to have to wait longer, but they either need a full truck load, or there are a number of truck loads ahead of yours. It is a business, and cost does matter.

thanks for your posts, makes me feel better... I've been stuck in D since mid August. I think it's a Canadian thing, it was starting to bother me a little seeing all these people going to D1 so fast. But Canada is a smaller market so I think we are the bottom of the priority list. Understandable as it's a business but still sometimes hard to take when it's not even scheduled for production after 2 months.

enough already get building my jeep! JKUR, True Blue Rubi with auto, cloth, 130 with connect and remote start.

Figured as much I'm still ticked off because my dealer called me on Monday 10-1 and said good news your Jeep is in NJ and they wanted me to come down with the insurance for the jeep and put it on the road that day and they didn't even have it. Not to mention I am trading in so I will be swapping plates. They must have wanted to get it in for 3rd Quarter Sales, but still had I done that and played along which i'd never do (not going to insure a car and sign on the doted lines for something they don't even have.). I would have now been waiting 2 weeks for it.

Oh well I mean I knew I was dealing with a crap dealership but I just couldn't say no to the 7% under invoice I got (and since then I got $500 in the mail). At this point though I regret it i'd gladly pay another $1,000 for better Customer Service. Serves me right.

FWIW, Insight still says my delivery to dealer should be today (10/11), but I picked up my Jeep three days ago.
Yeah I'm just ticked off because my dealer called

How did you get 7% under invoice?

You we're absolutely correct! Insight just updated with a dealer ETA of 10/22. That would be less than 4 weeks since I ordered, which would be awesome.

Insight had everything lined up nice but then on 10/2 the current status changed to Reset Customer Comment. It still shows Railcar being placed at destination facility on 10/14 but who knows. Vots has me in paint for a 3rd day now so they aren't making me happier either. Ugh!

Thank you for your recent email!

I have taken liberty of looking up the order for your 2013 Jeep Wrangler
and the current status as of October 9th is the following:

Built-Released By Plant

With that being said, further details pertaining to the dealer delivery
have not been provided. Transportation time from the factory to the
dealer may take approximately 30 days. We would strongly advise staying
in contact with your selling dealership as they will have the most
accurate and up to date delivery information within their provided
resources.

If you have any further questions, you are always welcome to reply back
to this email and I will respond back to you as promptly as I can. If
you prefer, you can also call me directly with your questions at the
Jeep Product Information Center by calling 1-800-964-0600. When you
call, I can connect you directly to your local dealership, providing
your call is during the dealer's hours of operation.

Thank you for your interest in Jeep, Kacy. We wish you the best!

Sincerely,

Nicole

I got at least 7% under also. It doesn't hurt to ask for it!! Just be ready to walk out if they say no and wait for the phone call back.

I've been checking it a few times daily as my delivery date is very soon. There have been a few days when it was different in the afternoon from what it was in the morning and once I saw three different changes in one day so I know for a fact it's not just a once daily thing.

Are you guys confusing invoice with MSRP?

I've spent all last December emailing people and walking out of dealerships (not to mention buying the wife's Rav4) and the best I could even get near was roughly 6% below invoice....and that was basically on December 31st at closing for a Jeep that had been sitting on the lot for some time.

Plus....the dealer can always make it up on the trade-in. -7% on the Jeep means nothing if you get hosed by $4000 on your trade-in.

Right now, -2% is easy, and if you work a bit, you can get -3%. But -7%? As we get close to year end, you might see more -4%'s....but inventory is more limited this year...so it won't be as much of a turkey shoot.

I can understand deals on existing inventory... but people are claiming to get 7% under invoice on ordered vehicles. Unless, as posited by a poster, it's being compensated for through a trade-in, I fail to see how a dealer can make money selling ordered vehicles at 7% under invoice.

Mine actually wasn't compensated for with trade in, the trade in wasn't originally part of my deal that came up several days later.

I think they are a volume dealer and they do it through kickbacks. The 7% under invoice (below employee pricing) they offered me was there first offer. I wasn't about to haggle. I have the spreadsheet and know the difference between Invoice and MSRP. It is the reason I bought the Jeep I wasn't sure if I was going to just buy it to have another Jeep or use it as my DD. I ended up deciding to trade in my current after the fact.

Honestly the deal enticed me I wanted to switch to a 2 door after regretting the 4 door (i'm single just don't need it though don't take that as me knocking it I still love the 4 door and will wave to every single one as I do now), and also wanted the rubi, I probably don't need the rubi by any means, im a mud guy could care less about rocks personally, but what I need and what I want are 2 different things and thats all that matters to me.

In hindsight like I said I was enticed by "the deal" and i'll never let that cloud my judgement again and pay the extra grand for some good customer service next time. I can't stand not getting a call back, I started calling last week once a week after they call me. I just don't have patience for people not calling me back especially when they say they are going to. I can see the car is in Doremus NJ though they don't know that all I really want is some honesty, like hey we are waiting for more cars to load on the truck and bring it through NYC to LI it might be another week or 2. I'd be fine with that. I just hate the games.

I'm expecting more when I go to sign the paperwork on delivery day if they try not to honor my $500 bonus cash I intend to walk on the deal and chargeback the deposit and go place it with a reputable dealer and start waiting all over again. Gotta love AMEX.

After a long wait in D I have now graduated to D1 with an Est ship date of Oct. 22. Hope to see her mid Nov.

Why does it take so long to ship? I've heard anywhere from 2 weeks to 30 days now. If our shipments took that long we would be out of business!

Who knows? Mine sat on a rail car at its final destination near Houston for 3 days before they finally got it unloaded. Now it is waiting for a truck to take it the 15 miles to the dealer. Insight says it will be there by Monday.

Good luck! It will come. I just talked to my dealer and he informed me that my jeep will have to wait until they have more coming out to Maryland before it ships. It does not go out on a rail car, it comes to Maryland via a car carrier. Therefore, it sits in at the plant, until there are more orders scheduled to come. Hopefully that truck is getting full fast!

I'm a first time buyer, long time listener....

In a few weeks I'll be parking my 325K mile 2001 Chev Impala at the dealers lot and driving away with a 2013 Dozer Sport S with lots of extra goodies! =)

Ordered 9/24

D1 10/1

Today my Jeep was completed!

Now Insight says "Ship to Storage", is that the holding yard?

I'm in Indy, and from what I've heard our Jeeps come by truck not rail.

I live in PA but my Jeep will arrive in Jessup, MD by train before it gets trucked up to Harrisburg, PA. Maybe your jeep will come by train. Insight has me loading on a railcar 10/18 and arriving in Jessup 10/22.

Ordered 9/29, didn't get a VON# until a few days later. I didn't show up in VOTS until I believe 10/8. Called I AM JEEP and my dealer, still don't have a VIN#. I haven't recieved any emails from VOTS, but it now shows that I am "Scheduled For Production" (is this D1???). Called I AM JEEP tonight and they still don't show me in the system, but online with VOTS Im "Scheduled". So my questions:

1. Is "Scheduled for Production" D1??? (sorry, confused about this)
2. When does a VIN# finally pop up? (Dealer said initially "not for a long time")
3. Am I worrying about nothing, or should I be hammering the dealer more for info, or just let things be?

Order is:

2013 JKUR CG
Black Hardtop
6-sp manual
Connectivity
Heated seats
Slush mats

On a side note, I have a trade and the dealer agreed to let me drive it until the Jeep comes in. Now they are asking for it early so they "don't have to adjust the negotiated trade price due to increased mileage". I told them if they wanted it early I had offered to do so at time of signing the intial deal, but at this point I'd need a loaner for a few weeks. They are balking at that thus far, and I also let them know I only drive the trade 3.5miles each way to work 3 days a week so increased mileage isn't really a valid point IMHO. Anyway, opinions, comments, suggestions???

Thanks!

Mine is supposed to be delivered at 8:33am today. Anyone know how long from the time the dealer receives it to when it's available to pick up?
