Is it a bad sign if the Deal Deliver ETA is blank on insight? Mine was ordered around 9/25 or 9/26. Went to D1 on 10/5, and have had no updates since. schedule to be loaded on railcar 10/18, unloaded 10/25 in MO. just wondered if blank ETA is bad, since it is scheduled to ship 10/18 and hasnt started production.

Nah, many are built / shipped in the same day. Mine didn't have a delivery eta until it was built. In fact, never had any future dates while in D1.

Mine had a dealer ETA. The ETA was missed, and I never received an updated one. It just showed up at the dealer a few days later. Just stop worrying about it. It will get to you, I promise.

The initial ship date seems to be a pretty good indication as to when your new Jeep will be built, and I've not heard anyone say that date changed on them. The dealer ETA is pretty fluid. According to Insight, my Jeep is sitting on a rail car in Indiana and has been for 3 days now. During that 3 day period, the dealer ETA has changed from 10/22, to 10/29, to 10/24, to 10/26, and is currently again at 10/29. OK... so I check more than once a day.

The way I see it, it may be at the dealer before Insight gets the ETA correct. BTW - On my Insight report, it clearly states that the dealer ETA is not guaranteed and is in fact only an estimate. I've read of many folks here that got their Jeep while Insight still showed D1 status so I guess the "system" is a bit unreliable. My delivery date ETA didn't show up at all until the vehicle was built as near as I can tell.

In your case based on my experience with Insight, your Jeep will be built either Wednesday 10/17 or Thursday 10/18 at worst.

Sorry, moderators I thought I was in the 2013 info page when I posted this, although I too am in waiting, I did not intend to post this here. I'll repost over there. My apologies.

Insight is now giving this message. It was fun while it lasted:

Due to security reasons, the vehicle trace feature is available only through Chrysler DealerConnect Portal. Please use Chrysler DealerConnect Portal to track your vehicles or contact your Chrysler representative for further information.

My VOTS says my jeep is built and will be shipped soon. Took 18 days from order date. Looks like a couple more weeks to get to us. It went from in paint to ship in just a couple of days including the weekend.

I was able to check Insight this morning before 8:00AM (see pg 162) as I am in the last leg with a delivery date of today, and now coincidently I get the same message as both of you. Since we originally get this message in Insight before our Jeeps are in D1 (and not in the system), maybe it means our jeeps have been delivered? Technically it's out of the system once it's delivered so I'm just trying to put 2 & 2 together.

I've never checked insight (don't even know the address).....BUT....Dealer Connect seems to be down as welll. I googled the Dealer Connect, went to the site, and clicked on "site status". I got the below pop-up.

October 15, 2012 08:14
Application Issue: "DealerCONNECT>Email Accounts"
Markets affected: US,Canada
You may be receiving an error when trying to access your Email Account through DealerCONNECT. No resolution time is available. Please check the site status again as updates will be posted as soon as they become available.

Didn't happen in my case. I had my Jeep four or five days and it still showed in Insight.

Now I can't pull it up in Insight and I can't pull up the window sticker. Maybe using the "xxxxx" for the dealer code is what kills it.

I wish! Unfortunately, my JKUR isn't expected to arrive until 10/30.

If I had to guess, I would expect chryslergroup eventually noticed an unusual amount of activity on that site from a variety of IPs, so they restricted the access - just a guess

No. I've had my Jeep for about 3 or so weeks. I was still able to pull it up on Insight recently.

Wow, that sucks for all those still waiting delivery. I checked insight every day but luckily mine is sitting at the dealer right now waiting for me to come take her home. Soon!

Tracking dealer order in VOTS and Insight

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to track a dealer order that was not placed under my name? Will be ordering in next couple days but dealer is placing order for the dealership. Hopefully I can track the build in VOTS and/or Insight.
Thanks.

Insight down for me as well.

Just wanted to let you know a tool I created. I'm a programmer and figured I wanted to see something differently from Jeep so I created a crude tool to monitor the progress of my Jeep through production. Its a basic web app that uses the same feed as the VOTS page (so far I haven't been able to see as much as Insight) but my app refreshes VOTS every 5 minutes for you and if your stage changes (i.e. going from D1 to F) it will pop up an alert and let you know. There is a bunch of other information from VOTS that is in the feed that I'm not showing as I didn't find it critical to display. So basically all I'm showing is the production phase, a list of all the phases, and a basic progress bar showing when the refresh will happen.

Disclaimer: I do not work for Jeep/Chrysler or any car manufacturer. I am not storing your VIN/VON or last name (it stores them as a cookie in your browser on your machine). I take no responsibility if this system some how cancels your order etc. It may get shut down at any time. Use at your own risk. This is VERY VERY crude and I don't think any problems will come of it but you never know. I am not providing real time support for it but if you see something seriously broken feel free to PM me. If Chrysler decides to ask me to stop this I will do so or if they change something on their end preventing me from updating: so I wouldn't count on it staying up forever.

Ok now for the link:
JEEP Check

Hope you enjoy it.

keschete was right - she said to be careful as it wouldn't last.

I just heard that Chrysler has a list of every VIN that was entered into that Insight logon and they have moved those to the back of the line.

They may have just deleted the account for the dealer code we were all using. Thousands of logins per hour may have been the giveaway.

As I said earlier....the Insight link was being used by many other forums, including ones featuring non-Jeeps such as Fiat, Dodge and Chrysler vehicles. From a simple Google search, you can see it has been known for years in forums. Did they shut it down today? Perhaps. Was it because of this forum? No way.

He wasn't disagreeing that it was shut down. He was simply saying that usage by this forum wasn't the main or only culprit.

Your dealer code was on insight, so if everyone changed the code in the address to that of the dealer, it may not have been as obvious.

The only disciplinary action should be against Chrysler for having such a piece of crap tracking capability both for consumers and for their staff at 1-877-I-AM-JEEP :-)
