2013 JKR Center Console USB?

So I tried to use the USB connection in the center console to charge my iPhone the other day and it wouldn't charge the phone. Does anyone else have this problem? Is it supposed to be a powered USB Port?

Mine Works

Mine works as well. If it doesn't, take it back to Jeep. You still have your warranty.

Mine charges my Android, but not my iPad or iPod. The iPad/iPod want to see iTunes on the radio's computer. Get a car lighter to USB charger that works on all devices.

Mine shows no charge on my iPad Mini, but it does do a very slow charge. Real slow. I left home with 23% charge remaining and after 3 hours of driving, parking, and idling it showed a 31% charge.

i have that same issue.
i'm at the dealership for it for days now.
they changed the radio. they updated the software/firmware or whatever. they tried everything.
it sees androids and charges them. it will not charge iPhone 4, 4s, 5, 5c or 5s. tried them all.
what gives?
i'm about to just give up and leave it at that.
i just hate having to use the usb thats on the radio itself and constantly have a wire dangling there.

it seems it is not a high amperage usb port.
some devices require 2.1 or 2.5 amps on the usb port or they will claim they won't charge.
original usb spec is 0.5a so its not wrong/bad/defective, just not high amperage.

as someone else stated; it will trickle charge your device. ie: dirt slow charging with a message saying its not actually charging.

My 14 seems to change my iPod just fine. I do know that certain devices, iPads etc cannot be charged effectively through general USB because it does not provide enough power.
