2013 JKU soft top boot

Does anyone know what soft top boots fit the 2013 JKU with premium softtop?

I've read various posts that say the mopar 82209912 does not fit.
I've read posts that say smittybilt 600235 filts poorly, i guess rampage is the same manufacturer. There's also rugged ridge, but i haven't heard anyone fit it to a 2013 yet.

does anyone here with a 2013 premium top have experience with a boot that fits, if so please post the part number.

thanks

Rampage doesn't fit

Ok, I went ahead and ordered the rampage boot. It does NOT fit the 2013 premium top, no chance. You can just zip the top together, but have no hope of getting the plastic pieces into the body channel to lock it to the back of the jeep.

Kind of pisses me off as I called rampage to make sure product with fit 2013 jkur before I ordered it. I was assured they added material to make it fit, well it doesn't.

I've also heard that smittybilt and rampage are built by some people, so that doesn't leave too many options, as I also read review on amazon that the mopar one doesn't fit 2013 soft top either.

I have the Rugged Ridge soft top boot and the new bestop supertop nx twill soft top. This is supposed to be the same or very similar to the premium top. The Rugged Ridge boot fits. You must fold the soft top material down very neatly. Zips up easily but is tight getting those tabs into the body channel.

Maybe you can return the one that does not fit and try the rugged ridge one. I got it from Morris 4x4 center.

I'm interested in a boot for my 2013 soft top too. I wish the support rails for the top didn't stick up so far.

Perhaps I would know this answer if I had put my premium soft top down all the way, but why would you want a boot on it?

Esthetics and keeps the top a little cleaner. And if you don't secure it correctly w/out a boot it could catch the wind and damage it. Just like a boot for a boat Bimini top when it's folded up.

Exactly what sjc said in my case. ^

My top stays down more than it stays up so a boot would help keep a lot of sand off my top when it's down. Also there's a lot of fabric that just gets loose and in the way when trying to use the tail gate.

I am looking for one more on the underside... When you fold the top down there is a TON of fabric folded down in the cargo area taking up space and prohibiting access to the back.

Agreed - I'm very curious about a boot, but still need to be able to access the same space in the tailgate - this way my dog can step in still

maybe pointing out the obvious to someone that is obviously well versed in jeeps, .. but I use velcro to put the support rails to the tub where the hard top bolts are supposed to go.. keeps them nice and low..

Lots of room with the boot. It's worth it. You have to fold the soft top up very tight to get the boot to fit though. All about the folding

I do that as well. I was concerned that with the boot you can't do that at the same time. But now that you mention it I don't see why you still couldn't strap the bars to the tub frame where the hard top bolts too.

Mom2One, can you pull those soft top bars down some and strap them to the tub so they don't point up like that?

You also have the Rugged Ridge soft top boot? Did I read somewhere that you need to order the boot specific for a 2- or 4-door Jeep?

Well, I pulled the trigger on the RR (PartNo. 12104.51) 4-door model from Amazon for $69. It should be here Friday.

Any idea why it states only for 2007-2010 models? What changed in 2011 on the top?

No, I can't move the bars down any. I'm a soft top newbie so maybe I did something wrong. Fits all nice and snug though.

I ordered my rugged ridge boot from Morris 4x4 center and it said it fit all the way up to 2013 and I don't think it specified 2dr or 4 dr. Here is the link.

This is why I made a custom shelf to drop in. Prevented the soft top from dropping into the cargo area. Also helped to hide my amp and sub and was easily removable.

I then removed the shelf and put in a Tuffy Tailgate Security unit which effectively does the same thing. Since I took the seat out, I wanted more theft protection for the electronics. Now no drooping into that area.

I like this. May try it for our JKU this summer. Certainly would help with cargo that needs to be slid underneath a folded down top (e.g. - stroller - not easy to hoist over folded down soft top)

That's interesting because the 12104.50 part number is for a 2-door, while part number 12104.51 is for the 4-door.

Here's that part number at their site: http://www.jeep4x4center.com/rugged-...-12104-51.html

Anyone yet find a boot for the premium soft top? I called Jeep and they don't seem to have anything in the works. The issue I ran into was that the factory boot instructions say the top would be about 3" over the side, but the premium top, with quality folding, only ever got to about 5 - 6" above the sides.

The Rugged Ridge boot fits a 2013/2014 premium soft top JKU. I have one and it's great - a little difficult to get on the first time, but now it goes on fairly easy. It keeps the top snugged down so you have a bit more visibility and also keeps the latches from rattling as a bonus. Just make sure you take your time and get some nice clean folds - makes the process a lot easier when you are cinching everything down with the boot. Going nice and slow in the sun on the first fitting is key - I think I remember reading somewhere that somebody ripped theirs trying to manhandle it. Mine has been on and off at least 10 - 15 times and is holding up great.

MOPAR makes one, but it's almost $300!

Those are the only two I know of.

Someone posted here recently about how he modded the boot that he bought to make it fit the premium top. But now that I'm trying to remember who it was or what thread it was in, I'm drawing a blank.

Maybe he will see this thread and help you out.

Search "2014 soft top boot - resolution". Not sure how to link from phone or if that's the thread in question. Only mod was a bit of tape for reinforcement not fitment on the RR 4 door model.

Still in use without issue.
