2013 problems

ya nothing major that you may have hoped so far ... lol ....
I am getting wind noise from the drivers door when windows
are up and top is on. It seams it maybe the weatherstriping
on the door where it goes down towards the mirror. That is
where you hear a very annoying wind gushing sound ( right
along the driver door / front window pillar.
One other thing I can not for the friggin life of me is figure
how to work the interior lighting
Ya I know their are switches on dome lights to turn on BUT I
am trying to figure out how to set it to have the interior
lights come on when entering Jeep and when stopped and
key is turned off. Also the only way I can get this new lighting
by driver and passenger feet to light is when I turn the
do hicky thing on the column stick to turn ALL interior
lights on. I figured out the Wipers and headlight ones
Right now when I open door the interior lights do not come on.

Could the answer to this be contained in rhe book that came with your new jeep? This is where I would first look. just a thought.

I was referring to robs question regarding the interior lights, I am sure that is covered in the owners manual, I would look at mine, but it is still in Toledo waiting to be shipped.

yes I did PLUS I have a PDF version that is like 600+ pages long for the 2012's that someone here gave a link to. I waited until last night to check it out because someone here wanted to know how the new interior foot lighting was. I just got the jeep on Friday afternoon and it is my 1st. Hell I keep reaching for my column shifter for the automatic lever but then remember it is a floor shifter ... lol ....
I know on my Wife's Avananche there is a ton of settings you can set using the buttons on the steering wheel. The Jeep has some but it is only a few.

As for messing with the dome lights look in the personal settings part if your menu in the dash.

My jeep makes a wind noise with the windows down sometimes. Like a whistle. Something tells me it comes with driving a brick

yup, the owners manual is the place i would start. even in a pdf, you can search. a lot of the control comes from the lever on the left of the steering wheel. if you back them off all the way (rotating the switch towards the back) i think all the interior lights go off and don't come on when the door is opening. thats a nice feature when out early in the morning going hunting so it doesnt mess with your night vision. anyway, try that first. it also increases your dash light intensity. good luck

he was being sarcastic, since jeeps no longer come with "books." You need to order one, or download the electronic owners manual

ya the one that comes with it didnt even say how to change the reading from metric to english. Here I am riding around seeing a crappy miles to gallon (what I thought) only to realize when I looked at the temp outside on gauge it said it in degrees C.
Then I was like how the hell do I change this BUT it did not take long to figure it out. Looking through 600 pages is a PIA with my Ipad ... lol ...
I could not for the life of me get it to work last night. I even drove up and down my driveway to see it the interior lights would go off ... lol ...
and as for making the dash lights brighter at night the only way that would happen is when all the dome lights lite up.

Left stalk (turn signals) has knurled, rotating portion. Fully rotating one direction turns on both lights irrespective of position of individual switches on the lights themselves. Fully roatated the other direction turns off the light switching so when you open doors/gate the lights do not illuminate. Anywhere in the middle you are allowing automatic lighting when doors open and adjusting brightness of displays. Mine is a 2012 JK. Hope that helps!

Thanks ... i will take my ipad out there tonight reading this to check it out. I did go out today to a VIP parts store to look at stuff but didnt see anything I liked. Guess I will do it all on line. I think Weatertec mats and some type of seat cover even tho I love the stiching on the Sahara seat now but being
my DD I just know I will get them dirty sooner than later.
Another thing I noticed today while driving in the daytime with sunglasses on is that if you get to a very shaddy tree area it is hard to see the speedo and other gauges. While at the VIP I did notice these kewl looking LED light strips in all different lengths that could be mounted to shine down.

I would not be surprised if the 2012 manual fails to mention controls for the interior lighting that Jeep revamped for the 2013 model year.

Also, Jeep support web site doesn't have 2013 manuals up yet.

Rob - does the DVD have the full PDF of 2013 manual? I would look at mine, but... you know...

I lust picked up my 13 sport yesterday ..
all the toys available its tough to select whats needed
I am coming out of 2005 tundra double cab that I had stolen from me. So far the only thing that has been an issue was installing the sunrider top. it came with the dual top option and installing the soft top was a struggle
I did utilize this forum to help and it so far this is a great resource!!!!

Not knocking your salesperson, but showing you how the dome lights and personal settings found in the EVIC work is part of a proper delivery.

All the basics are the same, such as turning on the dome light. Besides 2013 owners should have the complet OM on the DVD.

The OM on the 2013 DVD that I just got on Wed does not describe the new auto-dimming mirror. Mine has the auto-dimming mirror, but no explanation of the meaning of the power button on the front and if the lens to the right of the power button is a sensor or an indicator. In short, I don't think the available 2013 Owners Manual is actually finished yet.

I would feel safe to assume that the power button is to turn the auto dim on or off, . And I would also assume that the "lens" is a sensor to detect bright lights in order to dim your mirror. I don't have the manual, but rather I used what I like to call common sense.

It wouldn't surprise me if the 2013 manuals don't have any information on this. Half of the pictures in the '12 manuals were of '07-11 models. Just little things....like engines.

Haven't you seen all the discussions about 'ESC on, half off, fully off'? Is it common sense that you can turn on and off features of a vehicle based on turning the steering wheel this way or that and tapping the ESC button a certain number of times?

You might be right, more than that, you are probably right, but then, the Owner's Manual ought to be the definitive reference for those topics it actually touches on. You can assume based on common sense all you want, but that doesn't mean you are doing anything more than guessing.

My statement was a direct response to "Why don't you just look in the Owners Manual that comes on your DVD"... because the Owner's Manual on MY DVD is demonstrably not applicable to MY Wrangler. Perhaps this fact is common sense, in which case, I guess I'm uncommonly senseless to be surprised that the manual that comes with the 2013 Wrangler doesn't (in this narrow area at least, who knows where else) apply to ANY 2013 model year Wrangler (as far as I know the autodimming mirror is on all of them). Maybe the 2013 OM applies to your 2011 Wrangler - and that's fine, but it doesn't do me much good! Mostly because I'm not planning on stealing your Wrangler for at least another 3 weeks.

Don't get me wrong - I have figured out how to see out the back window with my mirror, but damned if I can figure out how to read through it - all the letters are backwards!

Did they finally add the 3.6 auto with 3.21's to the tow rating page?
