It was claimed (when I bought my 10A) that specific parts on this limited edition model wouldn't be availible without a vin. However, money changes everything and they already have mine so.....my guess is you'll see the bumpers and hood for sale (somewhere) in the coming months.

Keep an eye on Craigslist and eBay. Someone is bound to post them for sale because they think the hood and bumpers are ugly, or just want to keep a "sleeper" look.

Perhaps years from now, you might be able to find a original 10A hood on craigslist. But, I can't see spending the $5000 on the 10A package and then selling off the parts that make it a 10A. That would be a retarded thing to do.
Just my .02

Yup...I didn't even consider a 10A because the hood and enhanced EVIC were the only desirable things in the package...for my tastes and purposes anyway. And there are an increasing number of pretty nice hoods out there now if I ever decide to switch. Personally, I've never seen the need for a "heat-reduction" hood in my considerable time on hot desert trails. The bling-factor is cool, I guess.

Yeah, cuz Jeep owners never swap wheels, doors, body panels or any other parts off their brand new Jeep...

I have been through something similar with Harley-Davidson. They produced a limited edition model in the '90's that had tank badges I really liked. I went in to buy a set, and they said they would only get them for me if I brought in my registration showing I owned one of that model, and I would have to produce the remnants of the original badges as well. They wanted their limited edition collectors model to stay just that, and didn't want a bunch of cloned knock-off's. I think they eventually relaxed their stance on the topic, but it took quite a while.

Anyone check into getting a 10A hood with his/her dealer? I checked with mopar parts online but they don't ship hoods.

10A Hood, Bumpers, and Sliders

Reached out to a dealer friend of mine and here is what he said:

"Finding the hood and bezels were quite easy. The hood and bezels are only $583.88. The hood is currently on Back Order with no ETA.

As of right now I can not get valid part numbers for front and rear bumpers but will check back often."

He said he could order it without a VIN if I want to put in an order. I am looking to order the hood, bumpers and rock rails when they become available. I already found the 10A rims and installed them. They awesome on my 12 Flame Red Jeep. The only thing I like about the 10A Ruby are rims, hood, bumpers and sliders. Looks like I'll basically have the 10A features at a fraction of the price.

...must resist... Not sure why I ever worried that fuel mileage would be the most expensive part of owning a jeep. Too many mods so little income.

My understanding is that it ships free if your dealer is a super center hub.

I'm really curious how much paint would be. Definitely a better price compared to the AEV heat reduction hood, but I'm not sure if it's a fair comparison of the hoods.

So I called a local dealership and give them the part number. They said they could match the price. Might be worth a shot for those who are interested and trying to save on shipping.

I find it unlikely that Chrysler won't take your money...I am sure they would sell their own mother for the right price...I would just watch AEV's site and like the one that showed up on the MW3 one will be considerably cheaper then ordering through the dealer

Rest assured that they didn't pay to tool that hood and won't sell every one that's called for.....

I really want one on my Sahara.

When can we start ordering this hood?

I wonder if the vents serve any purpose? Either way it looks awesome!

Send a message via Yahoo to SilverSport
Do the vents come with the hood or are they a separate part number?
