This is the hood I have been looking to add onto my 2012 Sahara. Anyone know where/how to order it?

pretty sure you'll be able to order it through the stealership / mopar parts counter. as for other places that remains to be seen tho my guess is we should see quite a few places carry it soon

What I heard is that you would not be able to purchase this hood unless you were a 10A owner. Of course that might not be true, but that is just what I have heard. I ordered my 10A anyways, so I'm set - but for those of you trying to buy this hood from Mopar, I personally wouldn't hold my breath on being able to buy it.

Well I get what you mean but uneccessary amounts of water freely flowing into my engine compartment can lead to other issues I would imagine. Rust for one.

The good and bumpers are made by quality metalcrafters I've heard.

Water going in a strategically placed vent is no problem at all for an engine bay. My Subaru STI has a 3-4 inch tall by 14 inch hood scoop and has sucked in 8 years of water day and night. Not a single bit of rust or problem, engines are designed to tolerate water. Every one of them.

If I found out my dealer was using my vin to order parts for other clients I would be on the phone with Chrysler corporate immediately.

You do understand why things are limited and what buyers of limited items are expecting....it to actually be limited. If you want the hood buy the Jeep.

Lol. Yes you are set. Maybe you'd be kind enough to take a few orders for new ones since if it is VIN limited you'd have a green light? Lol. JK

There will be similar replicas no doubt about it. All that needs to be done is to change it up slightly to avoid copyright infringement. The aftermarket producers are likely already on it. Hell, china doesn't even care about patents.

Here's another hood option that looks cool:

Land vehicle Vehicle Car Jeep Automotive tire

Made in USA for $1000 kinda cool because it's different than the large number AEV hoods out there

Yeah. They are stealth too. They don't stand out like AEV hoods (which are cool) at first sight. The guy at the shop I go to has one one his and the supercharger to boot. There's a picture of his Jeep in the last JP magazine for an ad for the turbo manufacturer.

Dont worry. Soon you will be able to order the 10A hood or any other 10A part. If its only available to 10A Jeeps, the dealer just needs to get a VIN from any 10A Rubi, sold or not. If its sold, the owner will never know that a part was ordered with his VIN number. Its only paperwork for the dealer.
This kind of stuff happens all the time with all the manufacturers.
I might even buy one for my white JKUR. All I need to do is locate a VIN. The internet will definately help me with that when its time if the dealer cant.

Now if they would just make one that vents the warm air from the engine onto the windshield wipers so the snow stops freezing them up and I don't have to pull over and flip the ice off of my "snow blades" I would be in like Flynn.

Or just snap a pic of the VIN on the next 10A you see at the supermarket.

Just search cars.com or autotrader.com, dealers have VINs listed. There are a few 10th Anniv. Rubicons listed with photos and VINs. I don't know if Jeep offers pre-painted parts, if so, get a VIN for the color hood you prefer.

The parts dept. wants VINs to ensure they order the correct part for your vehicle so they do not end up with special order parts sitting in their inventory. For special orders, many parts departments want to be paid for up front.

All manufacturers are required to produce a supply of replacement parts for warranty claims, repairs, etc. Someone using your VIN will not prevent you from getting replacement parts in the future.
