2013 TPMS re-program new sensors?

I have new wheels/tire that I ordered online. They arrived mounted and balanced. I had them install new TPMS sensors too as I have the premium system and (EVIC).

I thought all I had to do was drive over 15 mph for a period of time. Well its been a few days and a few hundred miles. The TPMS system still shows dashes in place of the tire psi, and the EVIC says something about checking the system.

How do these new sensors get programmed to my vehicle?

Did they use the sensors for a 2013 Wrangler? It is my understanding that they are not interchangeable with any other years.

How can I tell if they did or not? I told them I had a 2013 Jeep Wrangler.

Some times with new sensors you must take them out of "sleep mode" which is how they come from the factory to save the battery while sitting on the shelf. Air the tires up to 40 psi and deflate quickly to below 15 or 20 PSI this should bring them out of sleep mode. Once done drive above 15 mph like you stated for a while. I am not 100% sure this is applicable to jeeps but it is to many other manufactures. Hope this helps

Not without taking tires off both sets of wheels and then rebalancing them...

Ok good info. In the past I have always just replaced tires on my trucks and dealt with the light being on all the time. Don't want to do that this time. Thanks.
