Why would seats be your big deal breaker between a Rubi and Sahara? Neoprene seat covers are going on as soon as I get mine anyways.

I dont like to use seat covers, and I really dont want to see any contrasting colors on the inside of my vehicle. I'm going to go with Billet Metallic. Plus I really like the new Rubicon wheels.

I posted one with a painted top - think it would look better with the black top though. Maybe I'll work up more later. I was also thinking rims with some sort of bronze color along with black could look cool with the commando. More or less guessing on the exact commando color, going from the swatches that have been posted. I'm digging that color. Having friends who have served in the military, I'd kind of feel like a poser getting a military color.

I agree... Not thrilled with the color options. No idea what I am looking for though haha. I'm coming from black and silver vehicles and a jeep is a fun cool vehicle worthy of a fun cool color- not into red too much, the oranges look too pumpkiny, plus as a UConn fan I can't get an orange vehicle lol.Gecko is cool, but just not me... So I'm leaning toward Billet. I think i'd like a bright blue that is a little darker than the smurf color of last year? Who knows. I need more coffee- still waking up. And no offense meant to anyone who has any of the colors I've said I am not into. I actually love seeing them out there, just not for me.

Since the 10th Anniversary Rubicon (2TJ) is essentially listed as a color, can anyone clarify if it's going to be a color or a special edition package or both?

Any details on the Moab trim?

Leather Trimmed Bucket Seats (*AL) with Black/Dark Saddle (-XV) - 08/20/12
-----------------------
Soooooooo......what is that new version that will be built on 10/1/2012?

This is such a pain in the rump....the staggered releases and allocations that is.

I'm also guessing that Anvil is a 10th Anv Rubi only color being that they start the same day...but you never know. Rock Lobster starts the same day as the Moab trim Wrangler.

Perhaps-but for those with the bona fides it looks to be a really cool color-can't wait for it to become available.

I cannot thank you all enough for the wealth of information on here! I have read through every page of this thread, but unfortunately my brain cannot keep all this info straight! If I can get the USAA $1000 discount is that instead of or in addition to 1% below invoicing for the Affiliate program?

USAA wasn't giving me much of a discount when I checked. Tread Lightly was the better option. From what I've been told (which may be wrong?) you can't combine.

100% agree. Great color. I'd just feel disrespectful somehow. Is that weird? Oh well.

So, are there going to be two extra cool special editions this year?

Rock Lobster Moab Edition and Anvil 10th Anniversary Rubicon? (Yes, I am making assumptions about colors based on introduction dates).

It would be great to have a little info on what these might entail... I am in negotiations with the House Finance Committee (spelled w-i-f-e) to buy a new JKU this year. It has been a few years since my last one and getting a little itchy to get a new one. While the Rock Lobster red doesn't appeal to me, the package might... otherwise, the Anvil color really works for me... and I'm very curious what the 10th Anniversary Rubicon might have.

Anyone have any inside info? Anyone? Buehler? Pat, Milous? Anyone?

Not weird at all IMHO, just respectful. But if you really wanted the color I'd go for it.

USAA doesn't seem to be a fixed discount. It depends on the dealer. Tread Lightly is a guaranteed 1% off. It's one or the other though. My last USAA deal was invoice. So invoice plus 1% off invoice equals 1% off invoice. if you read the $1000 off deal, it's usually $1000 off invoice.

I'd check with your employer, the Affiliate Rewards program seems to include every company I've ever heard of. Then you can save another $60.

Billet is still in the black/grey range. You only live once, get Gecko or Crush or something. Live a little.

I laugh because I'm in the same boat. My first choice was True Blue till I saw how dark it was in person. I really wanted Commando or Dune, but I'm too impatient to wait that long. I ended up torn between Dozer and Crush. I ruled out Crush because I didn't want to come off as either a Florida or Clemson fan. Dozer just seems to pop more when I see it in a parking lot. That and Gecko. Hats off to the Gecko buyers out there. I need to come out of my shell a little more before I can buy it. Can't just go from silver to Gecko without something like Dozer as a gateway color.

I'm a veteran of the U.S. Army and I don't think that active service guys/veterans have exclusive rights to the "military" colors such as Commando Green or Sahara Tan. If you want a Commando Green jeep, then go buy one. Heck, if you want a Freedom Oscar Mike edition, buy one of those.

Look at it this way, Jeep does a $500 rebate for military guys. By purchasing Jeep products, you are helping to pay for this rebate.

Just my two cents.

The seats on the Sport appear more finished at the base of the frame with a plastic covering which it appears the Sahara and Rubicon do not have. At least that’s how it looks in these pictures.

Do these models all come equipped with grab handles? I see the Sport has some unless they were added to it.

I would have ordered the yellow if it was still available. I wound up playing it safe and going with Bright White. I think it looks good with the black hardtop and fenders. Thanks for the pictures, I ordered the rubi but I'm not sure I like the new wheels. Oh well I will be lifting it and putting 35"s on soon enough.

"2TJ" is not a color code, it's a package order code. No details on the 10th model known at this time.

I hope this doesn't sound rude or disrespectful of anyone, but if you look through the thread I think you'll find that both Pat and Milous tend to post new information about as fast as they get it, so Im not sure I understand the posts asking for new info about special edition models, time frames for special color ordering, etc. I think all of us are curious about this stuff, but I for one am confident that the info will come out as soon as it is possible, regardless of whether we hound the insiders for it. ..

I think this question has been asked before in the tread however with the 125+ pages even with a tread search I cannot find what I am looking for.

I will be financing my Jeep and I want the best financing option. Is it best to get the financing through the dealership or come pickup my jeep already approved from a bank that I found myself? Any recommendations?

I think the best option is a bank or a credit union. I "think" about the best you are going to do with a dealership is 3.9. I know BOA is a percent lower right now and I am sure credit unions can improve on that.

Yes, you are correct. Some are as low as 3.24%.
