Revolver or not. They're ugly. Sometimes I just don't understand what the designers (Jeep or cars or clothing etc) think.

The new Sahara wheels have no lip on the outer face for wheel weights. Personally I don't like wheel weights on the outside anyway...but the shops always tell you that it's easier to balance a wheel/tire combo if you use weights on both inner and outer lips. Interesting...

The new Rubi wheels look like something you'd see on a 1976 Cutlass. Just ugly as sin. I suspect that the classified section of the forum will be totally full of them by Christmas.

I'm with Strokerswile, they definitely resemble a thread die.

Mohsinkin- As with anything aesthetics, it is merely a matter of personal opinion. You don't understand what they are thinking, b/c you feel they are ugly. Others see them and think they are a refreshing change or unique.
Not trying to bash, simply saying that they are simply a matter of preference.

Has anyone received one with leather yet? I remember seeing that some people didn't have a delay, so maybe some have arrived by now...

My ship date just got pushed up from 8/19 to 8/6, so maybe leather production is picking up.

You can have different color for different parts of the seats. Often the dealer will send your Jeep to a local upholstery shop to do the replacement. Usually takes a day or two. You can play with the color selector tool at:

Seat Color Selector by Katzkin

This blows chunks. I was hoping to see a piping/stitching color similar to the Gecko Green.

You can go to the Thread, Show Your Gecko. An idividual posted a pic with leather and Gecko piping. He ordered them from Quadratec. Planning on doing the same one I am sure they have the new seat design.

I understand that. But you really think a significant majority are going to like those wheels or not?
Makes me wonder if they even do research based on people's tastes. Something like:
1. Crawl forums for complaints.
2. Analyze what kind of aftermarket wheels people install after the purchase.

That would give them a better idea of what to stock IMO.

E.g. It's reasonable to say most people would prefer black wheels for the Jeep. Yet they do not have many options for black.

August Deal

For anyone interested in buying a Jeep in August, Pentagon Federal Credit Union is having a smoking deal in conjunction with Enterprise Car Sales.

I'm not sure if you could secure a 2013 MY, but I know they have 2012's and back a couple years. As a member of PFCU I received an email detailing the program.

I saw a few posts mentioning the Enterprise car buying thing, and also a few credit union car buying posts. I just figured I'd pass it along since it's pretty amazing from what I can tell.

The details will be on their site at Enterprise Car Sales. It still hasn't activated the 0% deal yet, but I suppose it will Wednesday.

I'm just pasting from the email now:
Quote:
Members will receive 0% APR when they buy a vehicle from Enterprise Car Sales and finance with Pentagon Federal Credit Union! The 0% rate is good for 48 months. (If a member would like to extend their term to 60 months, the rate will be 0.49% APR. Pentagon does not have risk-based lending. If the member is approved, they get the 0% or 0.49% rate.)

Members can apply online from the link on our co-branded website (Used Cars for Sale, Used Car Dealers - Enterprise Car Sales) or they can contact PenFed’s Call Center at 1-800-247-5626 (rate will be .50% higher if they complete the application over the phone vs. applying online).
So I guess not exactly pertinent to 2013, but I wasn't sure where else to pass this along.

It's a C-O-N-spiracy! It keeps the aftermarket guys in business. I'm really just joking around. Not sure what I think of the new wheels yet. Haven't seen any in person yet. The dealership close to me only had one 13' Sahara on the lot this weekend and it had the upgraded wheels. After seeing them I know I wouldn't spend the extra money for the option.

I don't believe the following has been referenced on this thread, so take a look at a YouTube video showing a 2013 Rubicon and a 2013 Sahara. Although the quality and commentary may not be up to your standards, it's the only video I've seen. Thanks!

It was previously posted. But can't hurt to refresh in case some folks missed it.

Mine has been loaded on the rail car as of Saturday. Called IAMJEEP today for an updated arrival date and now they're saying its not even in the system anymore. Is it normal for it to drop out of the system once it ships?

I was being sarcastic- I was making fun of rddavisjr for implying that people are paying too much attention to this stuff, because he is the one who CREATED the spreadsheet I'm talking about.

Not sure why you took this so personally, but I apologize that I hurt your feelings.

I think anyone who comes onto this thread and says that people are too obsessed with the details is a little hypocritical, because they're clearly reading this thread (and therefore more obsessed that the majority of Jeep purchasers).

Your comment is especially funny because I am literally one of the people you're talking about- I actually do get paid to notice mistakes, bicker over complex details, and comb over every inconsistency. Oh, and I actually AM a little neurotic LOL

Commando Green Delay?

Hey Everyone,
I have been reading this thread with great interest. I've been wanting a Wrangler Unlimited for awhile but the colors available just never appealed to me until I saw the lineup for the 2013 models. I am hooked on the Commando Green. I've talked to our local Jeep dealership in the past so today I emailed her and asked about the timetable for CG color as far as ordering and when available. She sent me this reply:

Quote:
"The color you are looking for was supposed to be ready to order on September the 4th, however, the manufacturer has not decided if they will release that color before October. Once they let us know for sure, I will of course let you know as well."
Anyone else heard this? I hate waiting just as much as the rest of you.

See post 3631. Not trying to be a jerk- just wanted to explain why you might not get much of a reaction from your post. Thanks for showing us though!

The first post still says 9/4, so unless your dealer knows better than Milous (which strikes me as possible but unlikely) I think she might be incorrect. People are anticipating Commando to be available for order within the next couple of weeks. I'm sure if you stick around/keep an eye on the thread, you'll know when the order banks open for commando- there are tons of people on here waiting for it, and I'm sure the resident dealers like Pat check on it daily.

I called the dealership for the commando green color and the sales manager said that he doesn't see commando green on his system

I'm not so bright on the whole mind reading thing so here's my question:
Do the dealers pretend to not know because they're not supposed to give out this information?
Or
Do they just don't have it in their systems?

Plenty of dealers probably don't know anything that isnt in the system. Since commando won't be in the system until it's available to order, lots of dealers won't even know it exists until it's available to order.

Keep in mind that these folks aren't just selling wranglers, and usually aren't only selling jeeps- they've got dozens of vehicles about which they have to have basic working knowledge. They're not nearly as obsessed with this particular vehicle as we are!

Only 1 more month before the official advertisements come out! When you look back in 12 months you might regret that you couldn't hold out for just 4 more weeks!
